Dr. Villoldo has contributed significantly in the field of psychology and anthropology with his studies of shamanic practices in various cultures. I hope that he, or people like him who have resources and influence, will study the shamanic practices of indigenous healers of Southeast Asia. Many of the ways of indigenous healers here in the Philippines are beginning to fade in obscurity. Scholars here do not put any value on them. They don't see how these indigenous practices and principles can inform and improve modern psychotherapy, medicine, and spiritual healing. The Western scholars no longer come here to conduct studies or at least document the rituals and ways of our shamans which we call "baylan".
That will Change 🙏🌍👁

How can we become a shaman.???
It’s a way of life. You need a good teacher if you can find one. You must devote your time to learning. Start with books. Learn to meditate, learn to be quiet and to listen and receive. Learn to induce a trance state with drumming. Experiment with fasting. Learn about the land, the plants, the stars. Meditate on love. Be sure you have loving intent, not greed for money or power. What you are learning is going to help you serve your community.
You can do a vision quest for yourself and see if you can be receptive- go to a place in nature without electronics or books or other distractions,drink pure water and be still.
There are exercises right here in this video- like the breathing.
