I don't understand what people's beef is with Keir Starmer being a "boring" PM. We've had eccentricity, we've had radical economic policy, neither have stood the test of time. I didn't vote for him, but I'm glad that we at least seem to have a bit of stability so maybe the PM can focus on running the country rather than wrangling internal party factions.
I have a cautious sense of optimism that this new Government will bring a sense of balance, equity, fairness, and equality back to British public life.

He took advantage of a divided conservative vote which won’t be divided for too long if Badenoch becomes leader, plus tactical voting helped. If he starts to sink in popularity which wouldn’t be a shock considering his level of unpopularity anyway, plus if he doesn’t solve the problems of the day he’ll be blamed for not solving them and thus votes of no confidence will go in. This is Labour after all who forced out Blair.

@@sukotu23well it depends. Starmer received 33.7% of the vote meaning he was never liked and still isn’t liked among the electorate. He took advantage of a divided conservative vote which won’t be divided for too long if Badenoch becomes leader, plus tactical voting helped. If he starts to sink in popularity which wouldn’t be a shock considering his level of unpopularity anyway, plus if he doesn’t solve the problems of the day he’ll be blamed for not solving them and thus votes of no confidence will go in. This is Labour after all who forced out Blair.
A new cabinet in a day, I am jealous. Here in the Netherlands more than 9 months of arguing and negotiating. I wish the new prima minister all the luck and success, he reminds me a bit of John Mayor, when I saw him at first
You know what, it finally feels like we have an adult in place who genuinely wants his legacy to be that he was a great leader and helped as many people as he could. Or to quote M, “I shall use my time.”
