  • I was curious if the K&N filter actually worked. I went ahead and installed it and did some sound and acceleration tests on my 2022 subaru brz

    I got that k&n filter on my 10th gen hatchback. It does reduce lag and boost acceleration. And I saw a engineer on UA-cam test it with other filters and did prove it gave it 5 more horsepower. I saw a guy put it in a type r 10th gen and you can hear the difference definitely.......

      You can get More or Less horsepower on any given pull depending on the characteristics of atmosphere & heat. You have to "Tune" for addt'l power as the factory ECU settings only adjust based on variables not soley more air equals more fuel.

      I’ve seen that video too I’m just trying to figure if I should go for a pod intake system or stick to the drop but they both have their cons and pros but I’m just not as sure with which I wanna go for

    What I heard was a difference in throttle response. There was less time between induction and exhaust noises after the change.

    K&N is an awesome air filter. Easy to clean, easy to maintain, and it’s always better than any paper filter. Whether it’s OEM or aftermarket paper air filter.

    I usually throw a k&n air filter in my cars because it’s easy to do and doesn’t cost much and I also noticed it seems peppier and has a better throttle response so to me it’s worth it plus it’s a good quality filter.

      It probably doesn't seem like much compared to an OEM, but I put a spectre filter in for a while and that was noticeably worse than the OEM; so going from that to K&N seemed like a huge difference for me. I only have 180 hp, but it's a first stage clutch so the throttle response was a night/day difference.
      I'm not going to re-use it though. They say you can clean them, but I've seen so many videos of people over-oiling them and trashing their engine.

    I didn’t hear induction noice but I did see and hear a difference. It was mostly in how the motor moved and how quickly it settled after letting off of the gas.

    50 percent more air flower. Definitely boost throttle response

      Closer to 30% increased air flow (+/- 1). The less restrictive the filter the better the response.

    K&N filters will definitely make more flow, at the same time will not filter smaller particles. I switched back to paper filters instead. WIX filters. Project Farm here on YT did air filter comparisons between different brands.

      Any one is better than KN. Theres a video of a guy judt putting sand on the KN filter picks it up and sand fell through. Dry filters just need extra care because they work and you need to wash the dirt out very often.

    • @Rob165x
      @Rob165x 2 роки тому

      When can you tell? It’s too dark. I know if you enable the rev. ⚠️ it’ll add a yellow part before the redline and an option in the same menu adds the gear# (which can go yellow) and a little icon to “up shift for efficiency”. But I dunno about the engine & fuel thing changing color…and I like going through menus lol

    I’m not English native speaker and not from USA, do you removed the white carbon filter because you don’t have pollution restrictions or just because it is written in the sheet that you don’t need it with this new filter?

    • @francismori7
      @francismori7 Рік тому

      It's preference. The carbon filter protects the cabin from harmful gases after the vehicle is turned off. The K&N filter does not replace the carbon filter

      @@Tracker5111 Nope . I had aftermarket in when it was tuned. Put oem in as recommended and had another tune and it flowed better. My tuner could see the aftermarket one was lacking and did nothing extra. Been backwards and forwards with tunes and whatnot over the years. If not going crazy power, I stick with oem.
