Thanks for sharing ! I was hoping to see how the interior spring around the drum was going to be installed without removing the front cover assembly ! At 2:26 some work was performed while the camera was out of kerosene?
My favorite part is when he doesn’t explain anything, tell you what tools he using, how no why he’s using tools because all of us have been doing this for 30 years
This worked for my Bosch front loader. He has edited out the tricky bit of replacing the inner spring band... I ended up using clamps to hold it at the top so I could use my hands to progressively pull it down over the lip.
Guys take the front off , it makes it all soo easy and you know you have the seal correctly seated, my wife helped put the spring on as the little bugger tends to want to spring off. All good now and gave everything a good clean when assembling again.
Just replaced a door seal in my Bosch washing machine which does not have a removable front. All fairly straight forward until you try and get the inner spring band on, You definately need to push the outer part of the seal inside the drum as shown on the video so don't connect the small pipe at the top of the seal until you have this inner band installed. You will the need 3 screwdrivers to stop the spring clamp from popping off the drum. An extra pair of hands / clamp can secure one end of the seal with a screwdriver while your two hands move the other end of the seal round the drum with another screwdriver, pushing it into the slot as you pull the seal round. Then there is the final tricky bit when the spring clamp only has a small amount to go. The spare pair of hands/ clamps now hold both the screwdrivers securing the spring clamp while you use the last screwdriver to lever it over the final bit of the seal and into the groove. Finger touch check all round to make sure all is in place and you can refit the small pipe at the top. Then do the rest.
Hi Graham - found your comment extra useful as I've just ordered a new gasket with the small pipe hole which the one in this video does not have so I suddenly got cold feet. Bosch refusing to send me a technical date sheet to show how to get the front panel off so I'm forced to go in from the front. Very glad to hear you managed it with the small pipe model. I'm going to give it a go but am really nervous about getting that inner spring on! Thanks for the tip...I assume it's easy-ish to reconnect the pipe at the end?
Replacing the inner spring band is tricky and cut out of this video. In the video he says it's impossible to remove the front, but in my Bosch Series 2 machine it was possible, just a bit more work: remove the top (2 screws), computer panel (3 screws) and then the front panel (2 top screws and 2 under the machine). This made the replacement a lot easier.
This guy wants to make it look easy in fact it's like trying to fit a bicycle tyre on a rim which is in a very confined space. Fitting the spring retainer things is not easy either especially when they are new. There is obviously a knack to it but our expert here has no intention of explaining it or has edited out the difficult bits to make it seem easy.
Agree 100% - noticed the edit at ~2min 25s ?! The 'knack' is a 2nd pair of hands (wife). And if you can be bothered - and it's not too painful - drop the front panel off. Save yourself a lot of sweat/swearing working in the confined space - unless you are a dentist or gynacologist. 😃
@@martinsmith5618 At the end I used two foam brushes to wedge the spring between the concrete and the drum, insead of risking my wife to bitch about :-)
@@christo7105 I did something similar today. After a lot of swearing and sore fingers I got the spring in place. I soaked my fingers in soap water to make it easier. I had another difficulty, my seal had a water inlet on the top that needed to be fitted on the bottom of the washing detergent dispenser. I did that after fitting the inner ring and eventually it worked.
I have a Bosch Vision 500 series front loader and it is about 10 years old, I came here, watched this video and thought it wouldn't be a big deal to replace mine. I was wrong, the bands in this video (look to be straight springs) were not like mine, which were spring loaded O-rings, with SUPER tension, I had to remove two spring loaded O-rings (inner and outer) and another pressure fitting to remove to get the old gasket out. This took about 10 minutes with the use of a needle nose pliers. To save you some swearing I will recommend the following Remove the top (two screws), which gives you access to remove the front panel (5 or 6 screws). This gives you full access to the drum to put in the gasket, I don't see another way of doing it due to the angles you need to get. Fit the new gasket on the inside, took me about 20 minutes to do this initially because I didn't do any of the above. You will know when it is right because it just fits snug, you need to roll the gasket inside the drum for easier installation. Once done, fold the entire gasket inside the drum and get ready for your first PITA, getting the inner gasket O-ring on. I initially tried myself and it is a real PITA, so I had another set of hands to get the O-ring finally seated with the use of pliers and bleeding fingers (30-45 minutes)...then once done, attach the port for detergent (1 minute). Then the fun part, the outer O-ring. Re-assemble the front cover / door and all the other stuff...seat the boot...and get ready for some swearing. It took three sets of hands and a lot of swearing but it is doable. I took the door off completely to get a better angle on the O-ring. I was worried about breaking it with the amount of stretching needed to get it in the right place but it seemed to hold up. All in all I would do it again but I think it is impossible to do alone unless you had some special tool to stretch that spring loaded O-ring.
I'm an appliance repair man here in Toronto canada and you did that boot faster than any tech I work with. I usually take the door off just to make sure that inner ring is on properly
Nice one Wayne. Make a video and leave out the difficult parts (fitting of the spring clips. Next time you chose to make 1 either add those bits in or dont bother posting it. Ps I did get mine done by wedding a piece of rubber in to hold inner clip while i worked it around as you need both hands free. Outer clip i used an old credit card as my finger nails just wernt strong enough. Bit of liquid soap helps with outer clop
It's a bit fiddly to fit the inner seal, but not too hard. I found the really hard part to be the fitting of the inner Spring. I used hand wash to lubricate the spring and then fitted the top part and held it at the 10 and 2 o clock positions.I then got my wife to gently feed the rest of the spring into the groove. I needed to hold it really tight using pinch grips to avoid its jumping out of the groove, but at the same time it needs to expand under you grip. All now fixed and my wife and I are still talking!
Hot tip for other people about to smash something because they can't get the ring on. Try adding some soap to it to make it slip, seemed to work for me. Thanks to another commenter, not these videos that only show you the easy part! 👍
Love the way the video cuts when he's trying to fit the spring band round the inside of the rubber seal😂 unless your an octopus you haven't got a chance in hell. If your a layman like most of us you'll have to take the front off the machine👍
You are soooooo right! “Just work it around the drum” very easily when you are an octopus!!!! If you only have two hands an no-one to help you just skip this part! 😂😂😂😂
@@rolandrodgers5201 The front comes off on all models, some have screws under the top, which is easy to remove, some have screws on the front. But all come off. And that way is much easier.
@@wimseffelaar8950 Just managed to do the job with no dismantlement on a series 4 All went OK but it was difficult Had to get round the back of the Soap inlet top left and had to get help as needs 3 or 4 hands to get the inner spring wire in place
Thanks for the video. Managed to change mine in 2 mins after watching the video. Not sure what all the negative comments are for. If you can't figure out how to put a loop over a circle you probably shouldn't be touching an appliance. Thanks again
Ok. For anyone wondering i found out a way to do the inner seal. I used spanners to wedge the spring onto the seal as i forced it around onto the the rest of the seal. After a couplr of hours of fails. I managed it within 5 minutes using spanners.
You will struggle (as you have read in all the other comments) with that inner spring. I managed to do it with no tools only by making sure that the outer part of the seal was folded all the way in to the machine. So, folded inside out. Once that's done you fold it back out to fit the outer ring and seal.
The trick presented here that is not shown in all other videos that I've seen, is pushing door seal rubber inwards when trying to fit the spring retainer. This literally saved me 50 euros. Thank you very much. Since I made it and replaced the Door Seal. IT CAN BE DONE!!!
I tried switching the light off to fit the inner spring, as in the clip, 2 mins 26, it didn't help. What is the magic trick? Or was the video cut because of the swearing?
At ua-cam.com/video/etL8qRGQHsY/v-deo.html notice how the spring is located in his hands; the top of the spring runs over the back of the thumbs, and over the index fingers (and on the inside of the other fingers, can't quite remember). Starting from the 6 o'clock position as in the video, use 2nd 3rd 4th fingers to put the spring in the groove, and feed the remaining spring over the bent index fingers. Use the thumbs and arm power to pull the spring up. I used the other tricks as well; wedge the concrete drum from the front panel using whatever you have available (I used polystyrene), lube your hands with loads of soap, liquid soap or vet lube, and crimp the spring together at the top before starting (although I guess with practice this needn't be done). Once the hand position was correct, it was a 20 second job, and didn't need to take the front panel off.
Great video although not as easy as it looks. I bought a replacement seal about 5 yrs ago and decided today was the day. Watched this video and less than 1 hour later it’s done. Made me wonder why I procrastinated for so long🤔. Thanks for the video that gave me the confidence to give it a go👍🏻🎉
It would have been better if he'd have shown the inner spring fitting instead of cutting that out! I found a way to do it was by finding an object which fits the gap between the door rubber and the concrete block on the bottom edge. This way when the spring is place into the groove it doesn't jump out. The lid off the vanish washing powder did very nicely, as well as jamming against the front of the machine. I then connected the two spring ends and using pliers, closed the loops to stop them springing open. Then simply place the spring joint part into the lower section of the groove, jam in the Vanish powder lid to stop it dropping out, then loop the spring over the thumbs as partly shown in the video, then use the middle finger on the right hand to chase the spring into the groove. Once over 2/3 of the way, start bringing the left hand up and then just roll the spring back into place on the groove. It took all of 2 mins. The outer clip is a piece of cake as shown. Hope this helps someone.
After many failed solo attempts to refit the spring I got my wife to hold the spring at 12 o'clock while I used mine to work it on all the way round. 3rd attempt was successful. Used bicycle tyre levers to work the outer clip into place.
I just replaced the electric door lock on my Bosch front loading washer and I CANNOT get the ring with the spring back on to secure the gasket! I'm a 'not so strong' person and I simply cannot stretch the spring enough. Can you offer some advice? Thanks.
Yes this is tricky but - check to see if your front panel comes off first!! I spent too long trying to reach in the panel and fiddle around before checking to see if the panel would come off. My model had two further screws under the machine. Front panel came off. Easy to then put the seal onto the drum. The spring was straight forward to put into place with another pair of hands.
I started to do what this video shows, taking the seal out was quite easy, but trying to put the new seal was nigh impossible,I noticed that there was a short pause while this engineer was replacing the seal. I had to call in a professional to put the seal on, He removed the top and front panel and even then it was not a piece of cake.Don't try this ..
I can’t take my front penal off because of a stripped screw under the soap dispenser. How do I pull the inner spring off? He didn’t say much. Folding the rubber in and put it down??
As with other comments the inner spring which was not shown is the pain. I used two pieces of string tied to either end of the spring then spring over the groove as far as it will go. Trail the string under the washer and tighten progressively as you tie off the strings with a clamp under the washing machine. Worked eventually. A lot of faff.
I ended up using a large vise-grip to hold the top of the inside spring in place while I rolled it in the groove with my thumb, that worked like a charm. It still took me quite a bit longer than 3:15, though.
This video shows you how to do it the HARD way. The easy way is to take the front panel off the washing machine. The beauty of Bosch washing machines is that it is SO EASY to remove the front panel. Here's how. AFTER disconnecting the old seal from the front panel of the washing machine as shown in the video, REMOVE the plastic trim across the bottom front (held on by one screw, then slide it to the right). This reveals two screws at the bottom of the front panel . Unscrew them. Then unscrew one screw securing the top of the panel (open the soap drawer to see it. It's at the bottom right hand corner of the soap drawer area. Sometimes it is rusty and a bit tricky.). The panel can then be slid down about 5mm to disengage the keyhole clips. Then swing it away from the machine with the door switch still connected if you only need to replace the door seal. When fitting the new seal I use a bit of spray on lubricant (eg Inox) to help the seal and retaining bands slip easily into position. I love doing this job!
Hi Nedlands, great point, but these days not all Bosch washing machine's have a removable front... we also thought it would be worthwhile for those machines which do not have removable fronts but your point is definitely valid and an easier door boot replacement via front panel off.
Nedlands: They still design some like that most of the Bosch ones are full fronted, it is still possible to remove the front but is far more involved but I still find it easier to remove the front as i get the spring on using my knee to hold it, my hands are to weedy and the spring jumps off when I try to do it the way shown.
@@Delogros I own a full frontend Siemens IQ500 WM14Q4OL, do you know any video showing removing the front panel or a service manual? I did not find any.... (www.amazon.de/gp/product/B008IZXUVA/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1)
It's much better to spend a bit more time to guarantee fitting by removing top panel, then the instrumentation panel and finally the front panel (takes approx 15 mins). Then you have full access and can see exactly where the inner seal fits and be sure of fitting the inner band. Otherwise you're working in the dark on a wing and a prayer.
Excellent video - I managed to do mine. My seal has a small pipe to connect through too. I'm so pleased I didn't need to take the machine apart like they do in most other explainer videos about this. I had a family member hold the spring at one place to make replacing it far easier.
Mine has a small pipe too. Didn't need to take the machine apart. Putting on the rubber gasket was hard (seemed too big), until I lubricated it (with coconut oil!) and then wallah in was on. My hubby and I did the the spring together. Someone said to tip the washing machine 45 degrees as it is easier to work in and they also said put in cushions to keep the rubber inside while putting on the spring. Both of these suggestions worked very well. If I had known about lubricating the rubber seal the whole job would have been about 20 minutes!
Ok...so after more swearing than putting together IKEA furniture... I did it. Finally I got the tube around the ring ,which I think was more good luck than good management, persistence is the key here and you’ll get it after about the 50th f-k or s--t. Now for that damn spring lock....basically the only way you are going to do this is if you grow a couple more hands. If you find that difficult you could try what I did. I grabbed 3 spring clamps, I taped the ends with electrical tape as I was worried the sharp ends on this particular type might damage the rubber. I inserted the spring at about 12 o’clock , then one at about 10 and 2, easy from there pull down and out and you’re home free. Hope this helps someone............right , I need a drink.
Yeah, this video gave me lots of false optimism. Wtf. Took the thing off, now stuck trying to get it back on and may have to call repairman. Thanks for making something EXTREMELY difficult LOOK easy.
Looks easy, but no matter what I do, can't make the seal stay at the bottom part (where the drain holes are). Thought the solution would be to start from there, but it seems like there isn't enough rubber on the seal and too little space to work on it. My washing machine is Bosch Classixx 5.
Hi Johannes, Is the door seal you are trying to fit a genuine Bosch part? And is it definitely the correct part? If it is then it is just a case of trying to hold the seal in position at the bottom, whilst you work the rest of the seal round the drum - it can be very tricky! Goodluck! GA
I don't know if the seal is genuine or not, but I actually managed to get it in place after hours of work. The trick was to use soap as a lubricate. Thanks for the reply.
If you don't have anyone to help, I recommend to use two clamps. You start from the bottom, then put first clamp around 9 o'clock then second clamp od 3 o'clock. With a little bit effort you will manage to put inner band on it's place.
Thanks, the video saved me from ripping the front off my washing machine (i have to take the top off because of af tricky water inlet in my door seal), i think i took me arround 20 minutes and yes the internal spring was driving me nuts
Nice trick with video, cutting the part when putting inner!! It’s not so easy to do it with one person. I’ve done this with my wife and son - I hold it between 10-2 o’clock, wife 2-6 , son 6-10 - took us 1 min to do this- outside 10min.
I've never done one without removing the front panel. Id never be able to trust it , as it might leak into the customers home without visual inspection.
I try this method the video skip the mounting of the inner spring it is not possible with only two hands i removed the front panel ( 5 screws ) it was fitted in 3 minutes.
It's more or less impossible to do without removing the front panel and even then, fitting the standard inner and outer bands is really tricky. Just taken me nearly all afternoon to do the job.
It was a two men (4 hands) or one man + clamps job but was easier than fitting a bike tyre. My rubber was leaking because it was cracked so I just rotated the whole thing 180° degrees and drilled new holes at the bottom. For this specific modell there is no pipe that need to be attached so I don't think it's necessary to take down the front panel.
It's very nice that you succeeded to replace the gasket without removing the front panel, but you don't show in the video the hardest step of this process, which is the internal spring installation. You've skipped the hardest challenge task. However, I've added a 'Like', since it gave the idea to try without removing the front panel :-)
It is possible, but you definitely need two people to put it back together. The parts where the video fades to black. That's where you need 2 pairs of hands
Yes R&R boot is super easy. Remove spring wire clamp. Pull boot seal to gain access to hoses and screw wire clamp. Install boot in reverse. Simple Easy No panel removal No screw removal No disassembly needed. Just wire clamps and hose to change out boot. 10-20min and any kid can change out this boot. Tools phylips screw driver needle nose plyers and maybe a little lube to aid in boot install. Do Not make it hard or complected to R&R a Samsung Boot
I agree with the below comment! What could have been a simple operation, you made it it into a difficult task. No way I will attaempt doing this after seeing this clip. May be there are other engineers on u yube would show it clearer
I don't see how you installed that gasket without removing the exterior panel so that you can get to the wire that holds it in on the inside. Maybe it holds a seal but its not installed properly.
A huge over-simplification of the entire process. Makes me believe that 90% of all door seal replacements are not done properly. First, what they don't tell you. The two seal clamps are different sizes so make sure you have the correct one. Also, the flexible spring clamp (as shown in this video) is much easier to install than the wire/spring clamp. If you have the wire/spring clamp, use needle-nose vice-grips and another needle nose pliers. My advice is plan on at least 2 hours, take the top and front off. Take the counter-weights off and install the rubber boot to the drum. Wrap the larger clamp around and pull the spring open until you can seat the wire into the groove. It may take 2 grown men or an angry housewife. Next, reinstall the front panel and seat the rubber boot to the door frame. Repeat the process with the wire clamp by using needle-nose pliers to open the spring enough to seat the wire. This video is not realistic as you'll need a few tools, lots of time, patience and a buddy.
If you have two people you can get it done in 30 minutes without taking the washer apart. start it at the bottom or top and slowly work around one person holding the other person rolling the spring into place. The second one do similiarly and at the end use needle nose pliers to finish working it into place.
Brilliant, Great! Thanks Wayne! Done in a tick! Well easier than I thought it would be! If anyone is having issues, have a good look at the seal, and remove it carefully so you can reverse! Its a doddle. Of course, Im a mechanic, so the basics to me may be a mystery to others.
bish, bosch, bash, first fing we need to do is remove the band. That is what I am trying to learn how to do, without damaging the rubber seal. Thanks Wayne.
Bad idea. Mine has hose attached to the seal. The inner band is a screw adjusted band. I am guessing there was huge struggle in the cut out part of the video.
3 years late but I used 2 g clamps to hold the spring top and botrom of the drum. I lifted the lid and clamped the drum back so there was more room ro fart about. I did pull the springs the frobt and back one to bend them a bit as they were really tight. I also rotated the rubber seal and cut drainage holes similar to the bottom. The damager part of the seal was at the top now and doesn't leak no more. Saves £20 or so 😂
NOT very good at showing what's going on with his fingers as they are hidden the whole time. Tried to get the inside spring loaded band on but it kept slipping off. Wishing I could stretch the spring. Still can't get it off
STILL trying to find a video showing how to get the seal on before the rwtainer goes back on ... Its impossible !! I cant remove my machines casing as its all one. Pleeeeease anyone have a non editied skipped video ??
Don’t be fooled by this video. It’s designed to make you give up and call them. Watch the one with 1.5M views instead. That actually shows you how to do it.
I answered and said, "If I have found favor in thy sight, O Lord, show this also to thy servant: whether after death, as soon as every one of us yields up his soul, we shall be kept in rest until those times come when thou wilt renew the creation, or whether we shall be tormented at once?" 76 He answered me and said, "I will show you that also, but do not be associated with those who have shown scorn, nor number yourself among those who are tormented. 77 For you have a treasure of works laid up with the Most High; but it will not be shown to you until the last times. 78 Now, concerning death, the teaching is: When the decisive decree has gone forth from the Most High that a man shall die, as the spirit leaves the body to return again to him who gave it, first of all it adores the glory of the Most High. 79 And if it is one of those who have shown scorn and have not kept the way of the Most High, and who have despised his law, and who have hated those who fear the Most High -- 80 such spirits shall not enter into habitations, but shall immediately wander about in torments, ever grieving and sad, in seven ways. 81 The first way, because they have scorned the law of the Most High. 82 The second way, because they cannot now make a good repentance that they may live. 83 The third way, they shall see the reward laid up for those who have trusted the covenants of the Most High. 84 The fourth way, they shall consider the torment laid up for themselves in the last days. 85 The fifth way, they shall see how the habitations of the others are guarded by angels in profound quiet. 86 The sixth way, they shall see how some of them will pass over into torments. 87 The seventh way, which is worse than all the ways that have been mentioned, because they shall utterly waste away in confusion and be consumed with shame, and shall wither with fear at seeing the glory of the Most High before whom they sinned while they were alive, and before whom they are to be judged in the last times. 88 "Now this is the order of those who have kept the ways of the Most High, when they shall be separated from their mortal body. 89 During the time that they lived in it, they laboriously served the Most High, and withstood danger every hour, that they might keep the law of the Lawgiver perfectly. 90 Therefore this is the teaching concerning them: 91 First of all, they shall see with great joy the glory of him who receives them, for they shall have rest in seven orders. 92 The first order, because they have striven with great effort to overcome the evil thought which was formed with them, that it might not lead them astray from life into death. 93 The second order, because they see the perplexity in which the souls of the unrighteous wander, and the punishment that awaits them. 94 The third order, they see the witness which he who formed them bears concerning them, that while they were alive they kept the law which was given them in trust. 95 The fourth order, they understand the rest which they now enjoy, being gathered into their chambers and guarded by angels in profound quiet, and the glory which awaits them in the last days. 96 The fifth order, they rejoice that they have now escaped what is corruptible, and shall inherit what is to come; and besides they see the straits and toil from which they have been delivered, and the spacious liberty which they are to receive and enjoy in immortality. 97 The sixth order, when it is shown to them how their face is to shine like the sun, and how they are to be made like the light of the stars, being incorruptible from then on. 98 The seventh order, which is greater than all that have been mentioned, because they shall rejoice with boldness, and shall be confident without confusion, and shall be glad without fear, for they hasten to behold the face of him whom they served in life and from whom they are to receive their reward when glorified. 99 This is the order of the souls of the righteous, as henceforth is announced; and the aforesaid are the ways of torment which those who would not give heed shall suffer hereafter." 100 I answered and said, "Will time therefore be given to the souls, after they have been separated from the bodies, to see what you have described to me?" 101 He said to me, "They shall have freedom for seven days, so that during these seven days they may see the things of which you have been told, and afterwards they shall be gathered in their habitations." 102 I answered and said, "If I have found favor in thy sight, show further to me, thy servant, whether on the day of judgment the righteous will be able to intercede for the unrighteous or to entreat the Most High for them, 103 fathers for sons or sons for parents, brothers for brothers, relatives for their kinsmen, or friends for those who are most dear." 104 He answered me and said, "Since you have found favor in my sight, I will show you this also. The day of judgment is decisive and displays to all the seal of truth. Just as now a father does not send his son, or a son his father, or a master his servant, or a friend his dearest friend, to be ill or sleep or eat or be healed in his stead, 105 so no one shall ever pray for another on that day, neither shall any one lay a burden on another; for then every one shall bear his own righteousness and unrighteousness." .....2 Esdras 7:75 /////////////

Can't figure out how to get the front off ours.
Just trying this now and it drives me crazy. What is the trick?
Jest to możliwe do zrobienia. I wcale nie takie trudne do zrobienia jak się wydaje. Ja wymieniłem to sam i się udało.
That's because he edited out all the cussing

Steve Connolly thank you for your tips.
In other words..easy as long as you don’t watch this video expecting it to be if any use...and you have your wife nearby to help
Except front doesn't come off on some models...
It take 2 minutes to remove the front panel. If you don't do that, you are trying to mislead people into breaking their machine.
@@fungames24 Not when it's a stackable with a dryer on top in a tight space!
@@redskeleton5175 You would be in a bigger hole if you break it or not sealing it properly.
I like this - way quicker than having to remove the front panel like on many other videos will try this when my seal arrives for my Bush!
Once that's done you fold it back out to fit the outer ring and seal.
i prefer to take the front panel off its easier and you can see what you are doing
Or was the video cut because of the swearing?
ua-cam.com/video/h5uIJ6wHPcs/v-deo.html
How long was the full video?
Looks easy enough! 😳
Omg I owe you one
Thank you for the advice! But how difficult to place the internal ring 😅.
Thanks, you saved my life.
Thanks.
Lmao i love how you skip putting the inner ring on. Literally the hardest part! And you call yourself a professional.
Q
Yes this is tricky but - check to see if your front panel comes off first!! I spent too long trying to reach in the panel and fiddle around before checking to see if the panel would come off. My model had two further screws under the machine. Front panel came off. Easy to then put the seal onto the drum.
The spring was straight forward to put into place with another pair of hands.
That's 3 minutes I'll never get back.
A good horror movie leaves the greatest terrors to the imagination
Are the bosch door seale same size or diffrent between them ?
how do you take off the inside band?
You just saved me a lifetime of frustration. Thanks!
Hi Nedlands, great point, but these days not all Bosch washing machine's have a removable front... we also thought it would be worthwhile for those machines which do not have removable fronts but your point is definitely valid and an easier door boot replacement via front panel off.
Nedlands Appliance Service thank you! I gotta do one of these today and this video is useless
Hi Johannes,
Is the door seal you are trying to fit a genuine Bosch part? And is it definitely the correct part?
If it is then it is just a case of trying to hold the seal in position at the bottom, whilst you work the rest of the seal round the drum - it can be very tricky!
Goodluck!

I don't know if the seal is genuine or not, but I actually managed to get it in place after hours of work. The trick was to use soap as a lubricate. Thanks for the reply.

Excellent! Glad you got it on!

Why cut the part out when the inner ring is being put on?
This is more a 'look how good I am' rather than a tutorial.
Cancan someone tell me what’s the part number for that inner spring, or model number machine ? Thank you

I try this method the video skip the mounting of the inner spring it is not possible with only two hands i removed the front panel ( 5 screws ) it was fitted in 3 minutes.
You did it without disassembling a front panel? Can't believe.
It's more or less impossible to do without removing the front panel and even then, fitting the standard inner and outer bands is really tricky. Just taken me nearly all afternoon to do the job.
Jest to jak najbardziej możliwe. Zajęło mi to dosłownie pół godziny. Dodam, że robiłem to pierwszy raz.
Thanks Garret, you're a life saver!
Great vid watched it a few times did it in 10 mins cheers
michael millar can you come n fit mine? 😂
I don't see how you installed that gasket without removing the exterior panel so that you can get to the wire that holds it in on the inside. Maybe it holds a seal but its not installed properly.
LOL, Got zero out of this... Just as he should be explaining what he is doing it fades to black to done!!?
agreed. daft!
The second one do similiarly and at the end use needle nose pliers to finish working it into place.
doing it by yourself makes you want to end your life regardless of the way you do it.
I was waiting for him to say fuck it I can't do it
Without taking front off it takes 2 persons to put the spring on inner seal
Brilliant, Great! Thanks Wayne! Done in a tick! Well easier than I thought it would be! If anyone is having issues, have a good look at the seal, and remove it carefully so you can reverse! Its a doddle. Of course, Im a mechanic, so the basics to me may be a mystery to others.

It works.thanks. but your need a extra pair of hands to put the spring back on.
It works, thanks!
bish, bosch, bash, first fing we need to do is remove the band. That is what I am trying to learn how to do, without damaging the rubber seal. Thanks Wayne.
It would help if he talked through the process instead of editing out the difficult bits and just having a caption at the bottom.
Bad idea. Mine has hose attached to the seal. The inner band is a screw adjusted band. I am guessing there was huge struggle in the cut out part of the video.
having a nightmare with the spring that goes around the door seal help
3 years late but I used 2 g clamps to hold the spring top and botrom of the drum. I lifted the lid and clamped the drum back so there was more room ro fart about. I did pull the springs the frobt and back one to bend them a bit as they were really tight. I also rotated the rubber seal and cut drainage holes similar to the bottom. The damager part of the seal was at the top now and doesn't leak no more. Saves £20 or so 😂

92 The first order, because they have striven with great effort to overcome the evil thought which was formed with them, that it might not lead them astray from life into death. 93 The second order, because they see the perplexity in which the souls of the unrighteous wander, and the punishment that awaits them. 94 The third order, they see the witness which he who formed them bears concerning them, that while they were alive they kept the law which was given them in trust. 95 The fourth order, they understand the rest which they now enjoy, being gathered into their chambers and guarded by angels in profound quiet, and the glory which awaits them in the last days. 96 The fifth order, they rejoice that they have now escaped what is corruptible, and shall inherit what is to come;
and besides they see the straits and toil from which they have been delivered, and the spacious liberty which they are to receive and enjoy in immortality.
99 This is the order of the souls of the righteous, as henceforth is announced; and the aforesaid are the ways of torment which those who would not give heed shall suffer hereafter." 100 I answered and said, "Will time therefore be given to the souls, after they have been separated from the bodies, to see what you have described to me?" 101 He said to me, "They shall have freedom for seven days, so that during these seven days they may see the things of which you have been told, and afterwards they shall be gathered in their habitations."
102 I answered and said, "If I have found favor in thy sight, show further to me, thy servant, whether on the day of judgment the righteous will be able to intercede for the unrighteous or to entreat the Most High for them, 103 fathers for sons or sons for parents, brothers for brothers, relatives for their kinsmen, or friends for those who are most dear." 104 He answered me and said, "Since you have found favor in my sight, I will show you this also. The day of judgment is decisive and displays to all the seal of truth. Just as now a father does not send his son, or a son his father, or a master his servant, or a friend his dearest friend, to be ill or sleep or eat or be healed in his stead, 105 so no one shall ever pray for another on that day, neither shall any one lay a burden on another; for then every one shall bear his own righteousness and unrighteousness." .....2 Esdras 7:75
