Love the little munchkin bothering daddy while he's making a video. Well done!

I had the exact same frustrating problem of getting the front ring on my self before I watched this video lol 😂

My kind of guy, if I think there is an easier way I'll go for it. Even if it turns out not quite as easy as I'd hoped for. Thanks for the video, I'll give it a shot.

@@petersonbuildingcompany just needed to yell at my son to hold the metal ring. That always does the trick when doing repairs.

use a wrench + 2 zip ties to create a spring spanner for that last part. got that idea from another youtube dude. You ziptie the two sides of the spring to each side of the wrench and spread the spring

Nice job. Looks like it's worthwhile to buy one of those spreader tools for the springy ring in the front. I have to look into this, as I do not have your patience.

thanks so much for making this video. Your washer happened to be exactly like ours. This helped so much.

We have the rubber out and are cleaning it now. Took very little time thanks to your video. I am confident we can get it back in fairly quick as well.

All done. What I might add that worked really well for me was to work the outside edge of the first or "inner" rubber edge first. Then I put the wire in, tightened it. Reattached the hose at the top. Then easily worked the inside edge in place as I didn't have to worry about the outside edge as it was firmly held. On the very last outside edge, my wife helped. I stretched the spring with two "hooks" and she worked it on. It was not perfect as I had a bit of rubber out of place, but was able to get it worked with two flat screw drivers. My entire project took much less time than the video, BUT it would not have been possible without it.

I was able to get it without removing anything, you can push the drum back to get a hand and screwdriver into the screw holding the metal ring under tension, and that required a second person, and 4 flat screwdrivers to pinch it in, I did it with my gf she was holding and pinching and I was using a flat screwdriver to pull the ring into position

Good video just for the simple fact that it gives you confidence that you can do this without removing the top and front panels (which near impossible on your own on a stacked washer dryer)! Anyone struggling my with the front ring should look for the video “Washer Door Boot Seal Problems? Try this cheap trick!” From the UA-cam channel Ben’s Appliances and Junk. He has a good trick!

@petersonbuildingcompany Is the removal part exactly the opposite? or do we need to take any specific precautions?

  • @Msigw

lol. This only looks like marginally less work than muscling the dryer off the top, to do it the “right way”.

The inner ring went on easier. It’s the same procedure attaching the outside ring. He’s doing it without any technician tool also. 😳 You did well!!!! 👍🏻 10:57
