  • A new boot in the 24/7 Lifestyle Vintage Series from Italian manufacturer TCX. The Hero Boots are not only a replacement for the Blend boot, but also I think a big improvement. They have a nice vintage look, but feature up to date protection as you would excpect from TCX.

In terms of safety, does this size protect the shins? Will it protect our bones if we fall to the ground? Is it a safe boot for above the ankle? Or is Sidi Midi Goretex more suitable?

Nice review as always, have you reviewed the Falco aviator boot with the zip on both sides and if so how would you compare them to these?

Have you had a look at the TXC Metropolitan? I'm battling to find reviews.

Hi! Great review. Since the boots have been discontinued but are still on sale at some stores nearby, I was wondering how well did they hold up over time.
Also which would you prefer between these and the newest blend 2 which you also reviewed?
    Thanks!

Thanks, they held up pretty well, not tht hardest wearing boot out there, but very good for the money. I prefer the Blend 2 as I don't really like the side zip.

I would still find it difficult as I have a high instep so would still need to keep adjusting the lace so would just go for the full lace version

No zipper means no zipper to break. 😄

you've reviewed a number of this type of motorcycle boot now. the furygan caprino, Rokker urban racer and some others. which are your favourite, i'm looking for something for winter thats waterproof warm but isn't going to make me look like a power ranger

Hi theglynux, good question! In the summer i almost always go for my Revit Ginza, but they are fairly lightweight and not waterproof. The Furygan Caprino haven't lasted as well as I'd have expected, and I'm a little disappointed in them. I have to say the Rokker boots are damn good, I've not tried them out in cold weather yet, but they've worked well so far, are comfy and tough. The RSD mojave have been good too, take a bit more wearing in but have great protection and looks, for that style of 'urban' boot. For me I think the Rokker edges it, but it's close. Some of the new Rev'it boots look promising too

Views from the Man Cave what about the tcx hero, or do you recommend the rokker over these

theglynux Honestly, yes the Hero is comfy and stylish but the Rokker is a much tougher boot. The build quality and features are better, but admittedly they are also nearly twice the price! If you want to spend more, the Belstaff Endurance boots look good, but I haven't had a chance to try them yet.
