- Repacked with Phil Wood Grease and a few drops of Tenacious Oil. Zero Play. The sound you hear is the balls dropping over the top of the race and clicking on each other. The phone mic is amplifying it somewhat.

Without oil ( no need) , just grease and proper preload balls will not make noise, and it wont spin "so insane" like that ..

never built! i couldn't bring myself to build it. it found a new owner via ebay now ...
What is that ticking noise? Are Campy track hubs supposed to sound like that??
the sound is the balls settling against each other. the tolerances are that good. i was shocked when i heard it first. it's hard to explain unless you play with it yourself. the balls are loose. not set into a race. once the wheel is weighted i imagine you would not notice this effect.
as noted, the sound is amplified by the phone software.
@@threefive2072 add lithium grease to the balls and skip the fine lubricant oil ! Finnish the noise and drag !
@@manuelluis5456 Hi there, mine ( the high flange model) dont spin smoothly-it’s like something stuck inside when spinning. I can’t figure it out whether the cone is too tight or it needs degreasing or bearing replacement. Any help would be appreciated!
@@sengtry3244 Mr. , what can I say ? To grease with a proper grease would be appropriate . One can only say something when looking 'in locco' with his own ears and eyes 👀 I am not an expert to mechanic' but rather a pupil always on the learning side . Sincerely . Lui le sans culottes .
