My name is Lucy, I'm a 25-year-old girl from the Netherlands, and I'm here to offer an alternative approach to beauty.
On this channel I do mostly hair tutorials where I show you how to braid, pin and style your own hair. I recreate hairstyles from movies & tv shows and I regularly come up with my own, which I love to share with you!
I do lifestyle and beauty videos as well, ranging from wearable everyday looks, makeup tips and DIY natural beauty treatments, to fashion lookbooks, vegetarian recipes and more extreme Halloween tutorials.
If you enjoy history, you've come to the right place as well. I have a few series based on historical makeup and hairstyling that are my little passion projects.
    Enjoy browsing!
    Love,
    Lucy

Yes! My hair is long, fine and straight and I find it so hard to think of new hairstyles to do with it that don’t involve curling first.

try to use mattifying product and tease your hair first then spray it. i'm learning doing hairdo from youtube and it works on my client with straight and silky hair.

Loepsie, You Are such a timeless beauty, I absolutely believe The French Twist could be utilized every day, with variations to the bun up top, to curls or decoration. It's such a classy look & paired along with your friendly & charming personality... you look very beautiful. The bangs also, bring the look into more a current era perfectly. Thank you for all of these ideas, it is always nice to experiment with styles from so long ago.
My hair Is extremely long, at about 3 feet, or 90 ish CM..
I enjoy your videos so much & look forward to them every week. Thank you

Needed this! My hair looks like yours: long, straight, with bangs. I'm always trying to find vintage 'dos that don't involve 12 hours of planning ahead. This series has been so helpful, thank you!

I love the French twist one because it looks so much easier than a normal French twist. I definitely will try that one.

Brilliant! The pin up with victory rolls stereotype has a lot of people really confused ... If course women with straight hair wanted easy hair styles, so they existed! I have so many photos of women with various twists and buns - in war time some work places insisted, and at other times women who worked with food and laundry favoured neat/straight up-dos.

I love the hairstyle with the braid and that french twist with the bun on the top. I might be able to do either of those! Also, you're hair looks so shiny in this video.

This is really useful as my hair is pretty long and veeeeeery thick which makes it hard to curl (not to mention it takes an eternity)

Lucy, do you feel that there are better pins/combs/doo-hickeys for tighter styles than looser styles? I have very long, medium textured hair and I have used everything from 3 inch hairpins to funky plastic pins and bobby pins and even spin pins to hold things up. Some seem hard to fasten in place other times, it's too droopy to hold properly. Any tips on how to gauge which "pin" to use for the structure of the style?

  • @Kayconnuevoalma

I can't do any of these... ;-; my hair is as thin as my patience...

    • @KateandBree
      @KateandBree 5 років тому +2

Kayconnuevoalma Her hair is thin and these are rather quick. Maybe three minutes? You don’t even have to backcomb if you don’t want to.

have you ever attempted a "figure eight" hairstyle? And do you ever used a hair stick (like a chop stick or something??) to hold up some kind of up-do?

Also, I've heard the "Curly Girl Method" only works on hair that's meant to curl. It won't work on hair naturally straight hair unfortunately. :\

  • @bitterrsweet1616

if you don't like back combing, you might be able to twist the hair a little bit and push it forward some, then pin it

I’m kind of cringing when you are discussing curly girl
Method. I’ve been doing it for over a year, and you can use hair spray and styling products but they can’t contain silicones or waxes or straight alcohol. Also, the method is for curly hair. Straight hair won’t become curly. However straight hair can benefit and become healthier from it. Just not curly. A month isn’t enough time to really see a difference. It takes at least a couple months to see full benefits. I love your channel. Just wanted to share what I have learned. It’s wonderful for curly hair.

Na na I cant do it to my hair because i have too much straight silky thick long hairs. Even my hair spray didn't work but i love them with all of these kind of problems.
Your hair are great, i simply love you
