Really nice work from these two great people. Hope people of Pakistan will take this opportunity to learn more about the history behind their country’s failures and their actions to prevent the collapse

Fundamentally incompatible. Chose either one.
I think the issue is not whether Muslims wants to believe in modern science or not. Each one can believe whatever they want. I main reason for friction is Muslims insistence and dream for converting the whole world into a Umma and bring under Shariah, and the arrogance that our's is the only Truth and others are false. No body cares if one believes in Adam and Eve and Darwin is wrong. The issue comes when they insist on bringing sharia.
Also one gentleman in audience was saying science keep changing/developing/building on previous findings and ideas, and religions don't do as if religions are fixed. That he can say for Abrahamic religion. That idea is not correct for easter religion. For example, Buddha came and created a atheist religion and nobody killed him. (though later Buddha was made into a God himself). Now Buddha is completely absorbed into Indian culture and followed and quoted widely at a spiritual level. The same way Mahavir came and started an Ethical religion (Jainism) giving less importance to God and more importance to the way we live. Sikhism if I am correct does not talk about God. So it is wrong. to say religions don't evolve.
Dr.Hoodbhoy who drove that Islamic Renaissance? Not Arabs! Not Barbery cost slave masters! It was driven by scholars of Islamic colonies mostly Iranians and Central Asians! Averros and others were not Arabs! Every culture had its golden period so had Islam !
There is a strong need for rational thought among Muslims. Especially our subcontinent. People like professor, Syed Muzammil, have to reform the minds of young Pakistanis to inculcate scientific thinking.
If you want to debunk evolution, then learn about it and try to come with a better scientific explanation.
Islam essentially prospered through act of war right from it's inception. Probably, knowledge part and some wisdom came from converts.
I was surprised to know Allama iqwal of pakistan, so venerated in Pakistan, 12:02 was himself 1st generstion convert from Hinduism, a brahmin by birth. Tansen during akbar's time was also a brahmin birth.
In recent time zinna and bhutto 3rd generation hindus. If these 2 individuals had not converted to islam, the history of indian sub continent would have been very different.
In Pakistan rich people send their children to English medium school where as poor go to. Madrassas!
