Sergio Aguero has scored goal after goal during his nine years in England, but what are the constituent parts of his game and why is praise for the league’s fourth-highest scorer of all time so thin on the ground?

Some of Sergio Agüero's great scoring stats/records:
Man City's all time top scorer (254)
Argentina's 3rd all time top scorer (41)
Atletico's 2nd all time foreign top scorer (101)
Champions League's 3rd all time non-european top scorer (39)
Premier League's 4th all time top scorer (180)
Best goals-per-90mins ratio in PL history (0.84)
Most hat-tricks in PL history (12)
PL's all time foreign top scorer (180)
More career goals(419) than Ronaldo9, Henry, Van Basten, Van Nistelrooy, Van Persie, Shearer, Batistuta, Shevchenko, Drogba, Owen, Torres.
This man deserves far more respect.
From who? Do you want ESPN to talk about him more? Should his market value get a boost or something? Would it help if he had a social media following comparable to I don't know Luis suarez or James rodriguez? Dozens of people say he is underrated but what they don't say is what needs to happen so he's fairly rated in more people's eyes?
How about you name some footballers that are FAIRLY rated
@@renelwhitton6931
People do say he is underrated but they still don't value him as much as he deserves. He is one of all-time great strikers and, yet, I see people making comparisons with newbies who are nowhere near.
@@honestpenaldo
His goals-per-90mins is around 0.7. His goals-per-game ratio isn't that good because he often struggles with injuries and is involved in substitutions. Btw his goal-per-game ratio is still better than Henry, Shearer and most of strikers I mentioned above.
419 goals? He's scored 221 senior goals so far, not even as much as half the players you've listed. Great goalscorer yes, but don't lie about statistics like that.
Edit: Turns out I was looking at Domestic goals you're right OP
Scored one of the most recognizable goals in football history, for me he is already a legend.
He is
“For me” stop that talk! He’s a legend full stop! No debate
Jefferson Wamono sir, I said ‘for me’ because some people don’t view him as a legend, hence I wanted to make MY stance clear.

Pandurang Gireesh then those people don’t know football... top 3 greatest epl strikers ever, what more is there to prove?
Even as a rival fan the man's quality is just so obvious. One of the most consistently great strikers over the last few years in any league.
Manchester is blue ha ha hee ha ha ha
One thing overlooked by everyone is his ability to come back from injury like nothing happened. Unreal natural goalscoring talent.
Ah yes, Sergio, my favourite Twitch streamer.

His son has the DNA for sure. Dad-Aguero, grandad-Maradona, godfather-Messi.
If that kid isn’t balling before he can walk.

Glitched Agüero: 0:34
dude is clinical, great off the ball movement, great poacher and now participates in play making too. Criminally underrated. Mixture of all great goal scoring forwards.
He isn't underrated
If he wouldn't have stopped play due to injury, he would've had over 20 goals in the Prem this season, easy. His goal in stoppage time to make United fans 😢 will always be his best goal!! That's when you rip your top off! When you win a league title, like that!
0:42 "Wait, it's all Aguero?"
"Always has been."
Y is this meme funny😂
Lol I have no idea why I love this meme
He is the one of the most underappreciated players of our generation. His goals per minute ratio throughout his career is extraordinary. Pep should give him more minutes.
Albin Biju he plays a lot but recently he has been out with injury
No way he's underrated. He's fairly rated tbh
Nikhil Koshy he's underrated definitely, fairly rated is terrible for Agüero he's one of the best strikers of the last decade and definitely one of the most deadly
Pep gives him a bunch more of time, hes our number one striker. Hes just injured

Great guy too .
City loves you Sergio 💙
I love scoring with him on fifa. The crowd sings SERGIO! SERGIO!
Thank you, Tifo, for talking about all my childhood heroes in just one video. Saviola, Tevez, Aimar, Ronaldo and Owen were my heroes when I was a teenager! Later I discovered Aguero and I think he is one of the last of his kind, unfortunately.
Absolutely love this guy and I’m a United fan. True PL and FPL legend.
Probably one of the best strikers ever. When a game needs to be won he’s in my team.
He is already a Premiere League legend..✌
PL goat
No... That's for the likes of Giggs, Henry, Scholes, Gerrard, Shearer... Nobody will remember Aguero after he retires
@@WakaWaka2468 lol, man is literally among the top goalscorers and you think people will forget him
@@WakaWaka2468 people will remember aguero even after his death unlike you
He is basically the best forward in the epl
I really like the guys movement and his workrate. He is the kinda of forward that just keeps moving which makes him an assurance in the fact that he will arrive in the box when a ball is delivered to the box 18
For me he will be the hardest player to replace in man City because the type of play that pep looks for dosent need a traditional no.9
Kdb is good and all but tbh I feel that there are plenty other playmakers that can fill his shoes. Aguero however is a different story
I would love City to sell Kevin to my team Real since he’s so “replaceable”. But Guardiola sai: that if Kevin goes, he goes.
There are that can easily full his boots. Kane for example but here cost a fortune. Likewise Haaland but he has riaola as agent.
@@JaleelBeig bro the dynamism that aguero has is still present
Halland is talented but in my opinion he is able to seem like he can do that role because he is young and still has a lot to prove
But for aguero that's his style that's all he does
Agree with everything but the KDB statement. There isn't a midfielder in the world as good all round as KDB right now he'd be impossible to replace. I do agree Aguero would be the hardest to replace as he's a key figure in the dressing room with experience and is an unbelievable goalscorer technically adept enough to play in peps system.
@@akudikechinedu8393 Aguero went up levels under Pep even while being in his thirties. Pressing wasn't much in his game & the was the reason Jesus was preferred initially. Now Aguero is an all around beas. Any new willing striker can emulate the same.
i'm a big fan of Sergio Aguero since he was in Atletico Madrid, not just how the way he play but also his personality on and off pitch
I wish he had play for Liverpool and finally Saviola gets a mention. So underated he was.
He is one of the complete cf of his generation. One of the underrated player of this decade.
Lewy, Aguero, Immobile...these players are underrated
@@banana7087 Absolutely. Lewy's goal scoring record is mental.
Absolute idiots. Just a bunch of sheep who thinks it’s cool to say underrated 😂😂. Any proof he’s underrated?
@@JamesHussain82 The fact that when talking about the great PL strikers, almost no-one thinks to say his name. The fact that he has never won PFA POTY, even when having great goalscoring and assisting seasons, or the fact he's been in the PL TOTS limited times? Even though his stats back it up, he never gets the recognition he deserves.
Xeno - Fola exactly and the fact that Higuian got picked ahead of him for Argentina if Aguero got picked Argentina would have an international trophy under Messi
The most underrated striker in the history of Football.
The greatest player of all time for Manchester City
Drogba is playing american football?
You’re a pure idiot if you think he’s underrated by anyone. You just think it’s a hip thing to say. Send me all the links and articles you have on him being underated, looking forward to reading them
haahahaha. Most underrated in history? Playing International football and earning over 20 million a year. Hmmm. I think you need some real life attention, cos you seem to be begging too much for it on here kid.
jason haynes exactly. All these guys do is use popular words to get likes. It’s pathetic. Can’t wait to see what bollocks he comes up with to prove his point. Tbh he will most likely say “haters” or some other popular word. Guys a fool, end of.
@@benak5278 Drogba is a great striker but lacks consistency. To be considered one of the best strikers ever you need to have a top level goalscoring record. Drogba should never be mentioned in the same breath as Aguero, Thiery Henry, Alan Shearer etc
Theres only a handful of active players that have been world class for as long as him: Messi, Ronaldo, Sergio Ramos, Benzema come to mind but not many more. Hes been one of the worlds best for almost 15 years now.
"He's appreciated in England, but in a dispassionate, cold way. Maybe the explanation for that is simple: it might be because he plays for City".

A true legend and one of the most underrated players of the modern age. What a player!
Great video by Tifo! :)
Any proof he’s underrated? No? Didn’t think so.
I maybe biased being a city fan, but aguero I feel one of the best striker in world football for quite few years now along with benzema, lewandowski and others.
Benzema?
Very clinical striker. Has consistently performed throughout his PL career. Him and Luis Suarez are probably my top rated strikers in the PL back when I started watching in school, with RVP a close third. I genuinely feel bad for him when Argentina fail to win anything major on the world stage.
Been following Tifo for years and the quality of writing and production keeps going up and up. Love the content.

His pairing with messi in city will be deadly. Can city handle 2 playmakers in messi and kdb while having the same pace & attack deserves a separate discussion ?

For me he is the best player in the world, why?? Because he has always played as an second striker diego forlan (ATM) , dezko(mancity), negredo(mancity), jesus(mancity), huguain, messi, and many other players from argentina . He had many injuries in his career , if they hadn’t he would’ve atleast 400-500 goals. He is a powerhouse having technical abilties which helps him to perform better and better always and thats why aguero is the best player i have ever seen. My favourite player my idol my everything in football he is the reason why i started following football
Agreed
He never played as a second striker.dont make up bs
Phenomenal goalscorer this chap. Forever amazed how he's been able to consistently squeeze in near-post goals.
Another LEGENDARY vid ... thanks tifo
I wish you could make a 1 hour video about aguero
One of the great strikers of the world as far as I’m concerned
As an Argentinean I've always loved Agüero so much. Often more than Messi. But also like look at my profile pic
Tifo football is the gift that keeps on giving
Class video, one of my favourites of all time.
As usual. I'm blown away.
Thanks for making this awesome video. I support united in the prem but this man doesn't get the respect he deserves.
I really enjoy the way he works between the defenders, the way he manages to score in such tight spaces
aguero is simply elite, wish he wasnt injured as often though
Superb video, Tifo ! I had not heard the parallels you manage to put together before . Aguero definitely would had been the heir of the #10 in Argentina if Messi had not existed
Aguueeerooooo!!! Best striker of this decade in the PL
Lesson:- Choose more than one idol and they should be unique in different ways so you can combine every Trait of them and yourself become a Unique player 😎
Best goal I have ever seen bergkamp vs Newcastle the sheer magistrry of the play blows my mind every time I see it.
For me Sergio aguero is the most prolific , deadly and complete striker in the history of the premier league
Tifo is the best UA-cam channel thanks never stop ❤️
I think one of the main reasons he's not appreaciated so so much is, not because he's a 'sum of many different strikers and not his own player', but because he doesn't seem to take the game too seriously. He seems to chill even in big games and just naturally score goals, putting in less mental effort than many of the fans cheering him on. His happy-go-lucky, almost naive attitude though is probably what makes him so good i reckon
I love these player analysis videos, keep it up .
Watching on 24 May 2021 after his likely last game with City in the Premier League. Legend. 😢
Can we get more of these please? Fantastic video!
Im probably a bit premature and I don't know what vids are in the works.... but a how Kai Havertz fits in at Chelsea analysis would be great, considering he's Chelsea's most expensive signing and probably the marquee signing of this transfer window. Keep up the great Content!
Their team is going to be quality next season. And I dread it as a Gooner. Havertz is some player already and he's so young too.
Crazy the depth they just gained by transfer this window can’t wait for 7 attackers to start
My favourite player ever
I gotta say he's a complete striker for me
Great vid as always Tifo
Honestly one of the Premier leagues greatest strikers imo.. Lots of people saying he's underrated but don't forget how. Many years he's spent in the prem, when he came into the mix he was hottest striker to aquire, as a Liverpool fan.. I've always worried when up against him cuz of the knack of goals he tends to be involved with against us... Personally when man City drew Liverpool in the UCL I truly believed his absence was significant in man City not being able to cope with us on the day..
Absolutely loved this video.
AbsolUTE EPL legend

But I would still prefer Lewy as a natural no.9 and I think he is a more complete forward
I think overall in terms of consistency I will prefer Lewy as well
Still Suarez has been the best of all in his prime.
Higuain is a classic case of what could have been. He was brilliant to watch at the start of his career, but as he approached his peak years he lost focus. It's very disappointing.
@Mike JJJ yeah
This guy would easily have 4 golden boots if it wasnt for his injury record.
15/16 Was 2 goals short of Kane but played significantly less minutes
18/19 Played 1000+ min LESS THAN Aubameyang Salah and Mane but was just 1 goal short
19/20 Averaged a goal per game in the PL and was 7 goals short (his minutes added up to approximately 16 league games and he had 16 goals, and was only 7 goals short despite playing 16/38 games)
There is nothing that can be said to discredit or downgrade his legendary status
AGUEROOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO THE LEGEND !!
All the strikers in the comments are jumping rn

His name should be up there among EPL legends like Henry and Rooney. How people disrespect him disgusts me.

Sergio Aguero could realistically beat Rooney’s record of goals if he stays for another two seasons
He actually has more overall goals for city than Rooney has for United. But 28 goals behind him on epl goal charts.
We love him ! Statue needed when he leaves.
An he scored 2 goals in his last PL game for City...seeing how the Champions League Final went he could have been given more minutes, but City looked morally defeated after the 60 minute mark....
Bonus fact: Aguero is called "Romarito" (Little Romario or Romario Jr.) by many in Argentina, so the comparison is accurate
Aguer⚽⚽⚽
top 3 striker in prem history hands down. shearer, henry, and aguero
My favourite striker from a Liverpool fan
The image I'll always retain of Sergio Aquero is from the 2014 World Cup, Aguero digging his claws into Bastian Schweinsteiger's face.
Legend.
The best goalscorer in PL history
IMO Aguero is to Man City what VVD is to Liverpool - That ONE signing that creates Champions.
Kane and Rashford stole his limelight because they were arguably the best English strikers playing in the English league. But do they really come close to matching Aguero's importance? I would think not.
Aguero is definitely the best Premier League striker of the 2010s, as well as a Premier League legend. It would be a sad day when he retires.
Kane is a beast. He's an incredible goal scorer and the team is not te same when he doesn't play. In my opinion Kane and Agüero are pretty much on te same level.
If and when Aguero's time is up at City, I'd like to see Gabriel Jesus promoted to first choice and a back up striker bought instead. I think he's that good that he's actually more than ready to fill that role now (as he's showed when Sergio has been injured)
If for some reason someone like Mbappe (or that quality) was a realistic transfer then obviously that would change things
Aguero is the best striker to ever have played in the Premier League. This is without doubt.
Honestly i loved Umaxit 😌❤️
I've always noticed that Aguero has really powerful near post shot. Just go watch his goal vs Liverpool 18/19, against Spurs in the quarters and against man utd in the derby in 17/18 (might be 18/19), to name a few (
I truly believe he's so underappreciated because he plays for city
the reason aguero isn't appreciated is because he plays for manchester city.
Also when he moved to Man City he was saying stuff like the Premier League is shite
