Street-smart thief Nathan Drake (Tom Holland) is recruited by seasoned treasure hunter Victor “Sully” Sullivan (Mark Wahlberg) to recover a fortune lost by Ferdinand Magellan 500 years ago. What starts as a heist job for the duo becomes a globe-trotting, white-knuckle race to reach the prize before the ruthless Moncada (Antonio Banderas), who believes he and his family are the rightful heirs. As much as how unrealistic it is even compared to the game, they nailed most of the motion sequence and Tom’s lines are true to Drake’s dialogues

I really dig the action and the cinematography. It's weird that they are basically combining all 4 games into one movie for a new story altogether...but I can't lie, there is something appealing about it.

Honestly though, cinematography wasn't too bad, but the hype in the comments over it is way over what it actually is. For example, please explain the physics behind 1:51 and 2:09.
i mean the colour grading sucks and the lighting looks very artificial with noticeable green screen
I like to look at this movie as kinda an alternate timeline version of the games, like how the new Halo show won't be the same timeline/actors as the games, makes this much more exciting and easy to accept changes to

Hoooly Moly this scene was really one of the best in the movie. As much as it is really inferior to the games, the one long shot following the falling Nate towards the crate, struggling to pull out the parachute, and then the profound silence directly afterwards... It is just like Kurt Margenau directed it in the original game, and it is AWESOME!
So amazing to think he filmed this which he stated was extremely physically intensive in terms of his own stunt work and physical exertion then he immediately began filming “No Way Home” after wrapping this.

They probably just showed the best scene in the movie, this was always my favorite set piece.

@@Wookie_Lover77 No joke it probably helped him though in that final fight feeling the fatigue of both films helped him feel Peter's fatigue of fighting each villain individually then the big fight where he list Aunt May as well as that massive final fight.
I doubt he'd ever want to do it again any time soon but I don't doubt he used it to help feel Peter's emotion.

The soundtrack sounds amazing, just like uncharted. Everything feels like uncharted. I have been in love with the game since a decade or more, i think the haters should find something else to hate on.

Tom is not to blame, but it actually looks fake, especially the gunfight. Action is decently paced but that is quite bad choreography for a fight, let alone a gun fight. It’s more comedy-oriented than action oriented. But I agree Tom does his part very well and he’s not to blame here. If you wanna see some good action movies without this much CGI and actually good fight choreography look up Mission impossible Fallout (especially bathroom fight scene, but not only that) and Equalizer. There are others too but these come up first in mind.
Aaaaand I was right. As usual marketing shows the best content to their audience. The plane sequence was the best scene in the movie .

This is just another multiverse of Peter Parker of being Nathan Drake in Uncharted universe.
One thing I like is how they included the slapstick nature of the games. Nathan is always getting hurt, tripping, getting slammed into walls ect.

Get on the games - they're fantastic, especially 2, 4 & Lost Legacy.
While they are great, I do recommend buying the Nathan drake collection and start all the way from the first to last, lost legacy is a bonus and can be played any time

The parkour, the action, even the sound effects of the guns all look and feel just like the games. Whether the acting will be on par with the games, that might be another matter entirely. Since this scene was mostly action, there wasn’t enough time to hear any acting. So, I will hold back my excitement until I see something that says otherwise.

When he's surrounded by other new young actors he barely holds up. When he's up against actual actors he cannot hold his own. Like in this film when he's doing a scene with Antonio Banderas you can really tell how out of his league he is.
