Johnny's goofy douchebag jokes and shallow Hollywood concerns are a counterpoint to the GRRR ARGGG GRIMDARK that a lot of the cast has. Undead assassins, magic ninjas, cyborg gangsters, extradimensional tyrants, elemental gods... all get the Johnny Cage treatment.
