My question is. In the lid there is a piece on a sprimg that comes down into the handle. Should there be 1 on each side or only on 1 side. Bc mine only has it on 1 side of the handle and was not fullyinjng up, so it took messi g wirh it a bit to get it to close.

On first use of my tanker, it started leaking on the steam area with the weight and near one of the handles. What should I do?

May I know if you place the black top regulator from the beginning of the process or you waited 10-minutes steady venting?

Wow! That made it so simple. Thanks. This canner looks so much easier than my old one and i am excited to get going!

So… it’s not required to vent for 10 minutes before putting on the weight??

Yes, our canner has an auto venting feature. You need to put the black top regulator from the beginning of the process. You can also watch this video: ua-cam.com/video/E0X4sHLu7BQ/v-deo.html

I am really sad to see the very first video isn't using safe canning practices and doesn't even mention it is a "non-approved" variation. Everyone gets to make their own choices for their situation. However, you need to have full information to make that choice.

What isn't approved about what she did. If your going to say that then you should e plain for those who don't know.

She gave a TON of very useful information. I was being as brief as possible because it is quite easy for someone to look up canning dry beans to discover both the tested safe method as well as variants some people choose. I was trying to be constructively kind. Basically, by tested and approved procedures, dry beans should be partially pre-cooked, drained, and canned with clean boiling water. Hope that clears up my statement.
