    I live below 1000 feet, so I put on the 10 lb stem and weight. The weight never jiggled, so I wasn't sure when to start timing. Any help appreciated. Or should I change it to the 15 lb set up??

    When you get up to the correct pressure do you reduce the heat at all? My really old canner I had to reduce the heat a little bit to maintain pressure rather than letting the pressure keep building higher. I bought this canner a while ago but this weekend will be the first I will use it. TIA

      As long as you are pressure canning at the approved pressure for your altitude, it’s safe ! The recipe (ingredients) doesn’t matter with pressure canning but does with water bath.

    Your stew looks delicious, what I would do differently is instead of topping the jars off with plain water, I’d make this ahead of time , is hot water with dissolved beef base that way you add to the flavour instead of watering down the stew. ❤

    FYI, if you pour out the “water” after refrigerating, you’re pouring out all of the natural watermelon juice/flavors. Most people simply put sugar, not salt, in it and use it as a base for when you’re boiling. You just add more sugar and water. No need for salt at all. I squeeze a couple of fresh limes in mine, to give it a tangy flavor. I’m making it as we speak!

      На пол литровую банку сырой кукурузы пол чайной ложки соли и примерно пол столовой ложки сливочного масла. Залить водой до плечиков банки. Стерилизуем/варим в автоклаве 55 минут. Я уверена что есть рецепты как обойтись без автоклава

      Different cultivar of banana. Almost any banana you get in the states is the same variety, cavendish.

    So what temperature in the dehydrator? I see people washing their shells first (for the garden) . I keep asking why, if im drying them, do i need to wash first? What does the residue hurt?

    I was wondering if you could help me understand how to determine pressure. The chart to determine elevation and pressure gives a choice of dial gauge or weighted gauge. I'm confused because my Denali canner has both! Which distiction do I follow, dial or weighted gauge? I'm at 1305 elevation- 15lbs or 11 on the dial. I'm so confused? Thank you in advance.
