The sheer speed and agility of play on such a janky game. This is the man who has practiced 10,000 hours of diablo 2. Even in parts where he's more casual and relaxed, it's easily made up for by just being able to play without any fear and instant potion response in places that would kill most people. Where's the questionable flower picture though? It really brought the room(and the community) together.
Special mention to things like casually switching skill to telekinesis to use a town portal because he didn't have mana for teleport, all in a split second.
Questions for all then D2 vets, I just picked up D2R, I've only played D3 up until now, like D3 from day 1 and even with all that D2 is a VERY different experience than D3, in all honesty it's almost like Blizz should've called D3 something else bc the only similarities it shares with D2 is in Lore imo. I really wanna get better at D2 and just have a couple questions. I'm like 2 quests into Act II and I find myself being over burdened like literally every 3 min, is the solution just to not pick every dropped piece of gear up unless I need it? like is the gold I get off the ground enough to cover what I'll need or am I supposed to pick up everything and sell it, I find myself porting back to town very very often to sell. Are vendor weapons viable, it always seems like the blue weapons they sell with affixs never have sockets but all the grey weapons they sell have 1 or 2 sockets, is it worth getting the grey weapon and putting good sockets in it like with +Poison Dmg or +Lightning Dmg? from my years of D3 grey items have always been trash. Lastly am I supposed to be going through health pots like candy? I find myself having to keep 3 rows in my inventory (3 vertical rows) full of HP pots, and 2 of mana pots (Playing a Dual Wield Katar Assassian with like 6 points in Fireblast and rest split between Claw Mastery and Weapon Block below it) The difficulty spike between Act I and Act II is a lot (at least for me) I went into A2 with no Lightning resist gear and the mobs in the desert do that crazy 4 way lightning attack when they die and OUCH that hurts especially when there is like 200 of them down in the Maggot Lair where I am now. Either way tyvm for any responses, I really wanna love this game like I love D3.
"is the solution just to not pick every dropped piece of gear up unless I need it?" eventually yes... but if you are new to the game, I recommend identify everything just to have a feeling how things can roll, but you should only keep useful or high gold-value items, and throw the useless stuff on the ground. "is it worth getting the grey weapon and putting good sockets in it like with +Poison Dmg or +Lightning Dmg?" Look up "d2 runeword" and look at items that require low level. "Stealth" "Lore" "Spirit" "Ancient Pleadge" "Smoke" are the main ones. Runewords can only be maded with grey items (ie, not magic, not unique, not rare) "Lastly am I supposed to be going through health pots like candy?" Health pots... mana pots, you should going through both of them like candy. "Playing a Dual Wield Katar Assassian with like 6 points in Fireblast and rest split between Claw Mastery and Weapon Block below it" D2's skill tree progression is very unforgiving. If you split skill into stuff that don't have synnergy, you will find the game very difficult. As a rule of thumb, putting points in damage and damage synnergy of a single skill (like the skill lightning sentry) is almost always good. Spending point on ultility skill or secondary form of damage, can be tricky and regreting. You should spend points on ultility skills or secondary damage skill, only when you are sure about what you want (maybe double check with a guide) You should have a plan of late game skill allocation. UA-cam search "trapsin" build. Trapsin is one of the best build to play through the game. By the way, you should be careful how you spend your skill point... but also don't be too too worried if you end up spending point in a wrong skill (for instance you should not have put points in claw mastery), because you do have 3 chances of respec your skill points. One for each difficulty. Use those respec with cautions.
Just my two Cents: Yes you are right the Games are very different. You can really feel that Blizzard themselves changed a lot between the two titles. You can safely stop to pick up everything. If you find something you are looking for, sure grab it and identify it. But your sorc doesn't need to check every axe in act 2 normal for example. If you find something yellow or green it might be worth picking up regardless, because you can sell it for gold, so you can cover your potion addiction (which is fine, chug them whenever you need them, they are cheap). Prefer small items like rings and amulets for selling in town. They can be worth more than a big armour but only occupy one slot in your inventory. The vendors refresh their inventory if you relog into a fresh game. That means quit and restart in Singleplayer or switching servers/games in Multiplayer. You can "shop around" this way. Sometimes you can see Llama do it with his chars. This can be a quick way to find something worthwhile: bigger belt, staff with a spell you want, weapon for a Merc or a socket base. About sockets: some of the most powerful items in D2 are gray base items socketed with a "rune word". This means socketing a specific item type with specific runes in the right order. Looking those up will help you tremendously. For starters you can get runes by killing the countess in her tower Act 1 a few times. Best first rune words would be tal-eth (stealth) for faster movement and resistances or if you play a fire druid or sorc tir-ral (leaf) for a lot more fire damage. Hope this helps, best of luck on your D2 experience.
@7eis sorc, hammerdin, Fohdin, trapsin, javizon, berserk barb, elemental druids. Only melees need gear. Hell even bowazon dont need gear either. Obviously some resists, life items and cheap runewords can help starters for reaching hell difficulties. + skills, charms, magic finds, and resist gears always helps for end game.
So blue and yellow items roll sockets as prefixes/affixes. You can plainly see these on blue items while yellow items have a randomized name because they have up to 6 affixes. Certain things roll on prefix 'mechanic's/artisan's/jeweler's are things that give magic and rare items sockets and only appear in a prefix slot. Similarly archangel's(+2 to sorceress skills) and things like it only appear in a prefix slot. Therefore you will never find something that rolls both sockets and +to skills/a skill tree and sockets on a blue(magic) item. Furthermore blue items have individually stronger affixes than yellow items, but yellow can roll more. Unique(legendary)/set items/runewords always have preset prefix/affixes, but these sometimes have a range (chance guard gloves roll from like 20-40 mf) sometimes this is important sometimes not. Important to note that runewords may only be created in plain socketed items (gray socketed items) and they must have the exact number of sockets the runeword requires. Enigma, a popular late game armor runeword (it allows anyone access to the sorceress' teleport skill) requires a 3 OS(open socket) armor with Jah Ith Ber runes in that order. You could not make this in an armor with 4 sockets. Skill/attribute builds. They are overly simple in d2 honestly. You generally put enough points to str to equip any gear you want to use. Dex is for equipping certain weapons and block rate. Vit is where most points go to beef up hp. Energy is almost never used by most characters (sometimes I like putting a level or two here early game for mana, but respec out of it) as a new player I think it's a good idea to hold 10 or so attribute points in case you find something you'd like to wear, but can't yet. For skills I would pick a damage skill that looks nice, and dump everything into it and it's synergies to remain competitive as you progress. Utility skills are generally "1 point wonders" and get 1 point into them to unlock where +skills can make them better. Some items get picked up for gold early on. Good ones are usually wands, scepters, staves, and orbs. These can roll +to individual skills for their respective classes on the base item and jack their selling price up considerably. Otherwise pick something up, identify it, and throw it on the ground if it's not something you'd want to use.

Moogirl boss towards the end
I'm not sure if you already did this, but what about a zoomed-in hell run? I think you were joking about that when d2r first released and we were all amazed by how pretty it is.
ahaha that mustache look x3
Curious for causal play, are maulers better than urdars?
Is Dablo 2 resurrected worth it for a first time player?
Definitely, though classic D2 is equally worth it (with PlugY if you play offline or SlashDiablo for online, classic bnet is 99% bots now). D2R is on sale for 14 bucks as of this comment, in case you haven't gotten it already.
4:25 EL GERMANY HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA xD
is this route written out anywhere for us plebeians yet? :p
Why lightning over cold? If you use cold then the -res would work much better right?
I'm not sure if I'm misunderstanding you, but cold mastery does all the -res for you when using cold. Lightning mastery gives damage so - res does a lot more for lightning.
how does man Llama stand in the middle of packs with a sliver o' health...i'm like twitching to press 4 for a rejuve pot while watching
Nice!
Punch only barb ubers next, right?
Oh Boy. 6:29 hours from 1 to torch. I need round about 9 hours to finish from 9 to hell baal :D
congrats.
Took me like 12hrs to get through hell
You're nuts mr
i never be able to sit at one game for so long... 4 hours and i'm done
hey llama, i have a challenge, how about beating hell using only one hand?
Well done, my turn ;)
now do it on hardcore.
what a pain in the ass of a run
Only Llama can do these things.....lol
this is amazing
Damn that was epic. You sir are truly a diablo god.
i've run about a dozen hell countess runs on ladder this season and I haven't gotten anything higher than a dol. also no keys. I have terrible luck.
Right when I started betting on Buffalo, my first ever bets, they started losing games lol, when I stopped they won again. I am the reason they lost at least two of the games this year.
He spends as much time in act 2 as I spend in my coworker's mom. Just Saying.
Does Kano have a write-up for this?
we need this
In regards to all the nasty archers in normal tower; welcome to the real world Mr lama
you need to bug countess for aways drop runes or just kill it ?
You do not need to "bug" her, she has a 63 in 64 chance of dropping runes.
She almost always drops runes. That is the reason she is a famous rune farming spot.
If you need higher runes cows level is the place to go though.
Why wasnt Countess in the middle of normal difficulty? For me always in the midlle not on right side.
It just depends which map-layout spawns. On one map-layout, she's always on the outside of that room.
Weird title. Anyone who understands the game understands it's possible. MrLlamaSC does it faster than I ever could, but many people run a day 1 torch on reset.
Glad you playing this than d4 the rest of them shilled out
_HELLO YOUNG BOY HOW ARE U TODAY?_
Out of context Llama.."I did it with a Paladin but never with a Sorceress"
Spent the same time. I'm nm act two with a hammerdin .......
I kind of wish they made frozen orb the OP skill, it just never did enough to my liking same with bowazons
runnning a physical bowazon now. Really regret it. Super gear dependant and still not that good.
@@pOOkiNG79 Hope you found a Windforce - pretty much the only Physical damage bow that even has a chance in Hell mode? If even that?
@@zimmicks3170 I did and its still not that good xD
good job
Legendary.
Is lama just the guy from Catfish’s son
At times the gameplay is so chaotic ending in quick death its hard to watch
how come when he recreated the game the map was open?
2:10:57 can I please request an audio edit here? You missed "No, honey" from Mom's answer.
that's unreal OMG
o ! daddy llama obama!
