This video series is by far my favorite, as I really appreciate the way Llama explains everything while he's doing it. I've used the knowledge of previous guided play-throughs to make Trapsins, Javazons, etc. of my own. I do think this most recent one was a little too speed-run-like, though. There were several times where I wish Llama had slowed down a bit and worked through a tough monster pack and/or reset the spawns, as opposed to just using his brilliant teleport micro to skip through. (I play on console mostly, so teleporting is not always a guaranteed out for me.) I also think Llama might have gone back and farmed for the Eld Rune for 'Hustle' a few years ago, since I feel like his older guides have more time dedicated to farming. Not that I'm complaining at all -- just submitting some constructive feedback for the next one. Great video, overall!
Tips: _The Pits are an excellent place to farm for runes, even on P1! _Want the ultimate "lucky try"? Go to Act2-Arcane Sanctuary with a character that can teleport (I recommend doing this with a somewhat geared character). Now, teleport around and pull every single ghost you see to the middle platform, do this for each way, and then kill the massive wave! P7 is the ideal, you get a nice chance for runes! You have the tree main factors: P7, Ghosts and Monster density! In one single day, i got 2Bers, 3 Ist, 1 Jah and a bunch of middle runes (Um up). Don't expect to have runes raining on you tho, yes i had this lucky day, but after was just mediocre with runes no higher than Mal dropping.. but for real, just try it. Avoid pulling "extra fast" and "aura/enchanted". _Need some Skiller? P8 Nightmare Cows. Want to roll some Skillers? (Cube the charms with 3 perfect gems). But you're afraid of the massive roll possibilities? Act 2 Nightmare Tombs (Those fake Duriel tombs) farm some charms there, they have a limited roll possibility due to item level, that caps right on the skiller rolls.
In all of my time playing D2/D2R I have never made an Assassin, so after watching these 3 videos it has definitely made want to give her a go, possibly an HC straight off the bat. Thanks for the effort you put in to all these videos, MrLlama, it's really appreciated
Tedious fact about me: I played the hell out of D1 back in the late 90's, but for some reason when D2 came out I didn't get it right away. I think maybe my PC at the time couldn't run it. It wasn't until the expansion was released and the Assassin was one of the two new classes that I finally purchased D2. However, in my younger days I didn't like playing as female characters. I'm not really sure why, I just didn't like it. As a male I always preferred playing as male characters with very few exceptions. One of them being the Princess in Super Mario Bros. 2 because she floated and the other I can think of is Joanna Dark in Perfect Dark on the N64. I have long since gotten over my phobia of playing female characters, but just like you I still have yet to start an Assassin. Recently I've been looking at different Assassin builds and I even watched videos on the viability of using a bow, which apparently can work quite well depending on the type of bow. I also watched videos on using Shadow Warrior and Shadow Master, as none of the builds utilize either one.
@@Tom_Van_Zandt I was late to the party with D2, only purchasing on advice from a friend back in 2002/3 when I saw it in a games store, on offer - 3 for £10 which included D2, D2 LoD and Half Life 1. My reasoning for not playing as Assassin initially was a bit simpler, in that for the physical side I saw her as a weaker barbarian and the 'magic' side (traps) I saw as weaker Sorceress skills, so a bit of jack of all trades, master of none. I'm glad I've started a build with her now though, gone for a Fire Trapsin on HC mode and so far has been a lot of fun. That's very interesting regarding the bow option, I'll have to look into that also
Loved all three videos in this series! Learned a lot about the Trapsin I didn't know. I was always reluctant to try hell on mine but now I have and all done. Thanls Llama!
Finally finished diablo 2 on Hell. It was really hard doing it with Trapsin. My first time doing it, tho. Ever since I was a kid (played, stopped, repeat). Thanks Mr.Llama!
I do absolutely love trapsin. Has been my favorite class since original d2. It is so true what someone else said, that it's pretty necessary to play sorc at the start of a season or you're seriously crippling yourself. Tele is just way too strong.
Hour 7 in Hell: Act 5 multishot/freeze arrow bowazon scared for my life each frame watching someone teleport through in 2 hours and laughing/cracking jokes 🤣😅
There’s always a chance they’ll add it. That’s one thing with d4 that makes it so promising is with how it looks like they’re gonna handle it. Anything could be possible to be added in a season
just finished in Hell with my Trapsin. I used gear from other characters like Enigma, Arachnid mesh etc and Foritude and Infinity for my merc and even two sunder charms for lightning and fire. the game was both easy and hard in some places. I died some times in A4 when several Burning Souls started firing against me. I had quite a penalty to lightning res because of Hell diff and charm but I managed through. now I'm lvl 83. I play only online and I also found several 5 and 6 socketed bases.
I've finished yesterday act 3 hell with help of your video. What a nightmare :D the worst act ever. First map all lightning resist. I had to jump through whole. I hope act 4 today will be more fun
All the big urdar types before River of Flame in Act IV were lightning immune for me. Mind blasted/convert then death sentry with merc attacking and fire blast. Slow going but I got through. Farming for infinity now.
Wow, what a struggle. Got stuck on Act 2 and I feel like I've had enough of D2R. Normal and NM was a blast, Hell is just too finicky for me. Thanks for the video, at least I know what I was missing out on.
The Holy Grail series is great for this. You really get to see the progression in an incremental way as he finds various gear pieces and upgrades his character(s).
With the new changes, my question is if it's viable to run dual fire/lightning traps in Hell? Something like (at Character level 80) 20 to Fire Blast, Lightning Sentry, Wake of Fire, and Shock Web. 10 to Death Sentry and Charged Bolt Sentry 1 to some or all Shadow Disciplines except Venom. If my calculation is right, each Lightning Sentry at that point would do 1-936 damage/shot, Fire Blast would do 478-635, and WoF would do 195-223, which is definitely low on a per-shot basis, but with 5 shots a trap it looks a lot better. I'm not sure how good a decoy a level 1 with +Skills Shadow Master would be, though.
loved these trapsin videos. finally made me level a 'sin past about 12... lol. really enjoy the IDEA of the 'sin, but actually levelling one never felt as enjoyable as the other characters. as for re-doing the previous parts... could you not just delete / private / rename them when you're ready with the new versions?
@@Ozzull I’m currently doing it right now with an insight bow (currently level 76 in hell) and it’s really not bad at all. Not as fast as most characters, but still fun hunting for upgrades.
@@lNTERESTlNG yeah i always enjoy playing hunters classes :) I've 4 bowa builds, and the most enjoyable is the Faith / Poison / Crushing B. It melts bosses lol But without proper gear it's too slow. Dude! That is some of the worst trap placement I have ever seen! What are you thinking putting all the light traps down in one place right in the middle of the mobs? Put your traps down in an arc, in front of you but away from the mobs. Then when a brave monster starts walking towards you (you use yourself as bait of course) ALL your traps shoot that ONE monster and it dies very quickly.
