As a father of two daughters, I can confidently say that having a newborn is an actual Hell Challenge Run. Good luck Llama, I hope you have high Piss, Shit, Cry and Lack of Sleep resistanses!
Yeah, I think it's different challenges depending on the age. I do know that making 5 children as fast as possible, is going to be like playing naked sorceress through all difficulties.
@@Rossscow My dad had 8 brothers, but he was the only one to emigrate to the USA from an eastern European communist country. He died at 45yo, when I was 21yo. I never had a chance to ask him what it was like, but I can still imagine that teenage daughters are Hell Difficulty.
I like the Gull Dagger start for this. The other options are basically naked run, or spend hours at the start of the run grinding bishibosh for a gull anyways. Skips the boring part and makes it more interesting.
100% agree. Would've been super okay with just taking money out of the stash and gambling for it at 11, but that would still take 1-2 million gambling for it so I don't mind just starting with it.
I'm not sure. The point of these challenges is the ridiculousness of them. I'm kind of okay with starting with Gull if you immediately stop using it after your first unique item. You wouldn't be farming bishibosh anyways. You can farm andy naked easily. Also, you can gamble as well by vendoring everything. I think it wouldn't take THAT long to get a usable unique. The issue with gull is that when are you getting rid of it? I'd be using it for a very long time... that kind of corrupts the challenge.
I think a fair addition to this run would have been that you can use magic items that have magic find provided it's the only useful stat, and you don't alreadyhave a set/uniquein that item slot. In the same vein as starting with gull dagger, just makes a sets and uniques come quicker.
About that skin discussion, never ever tie stats to skins! as soon as you do the skin is no longer a cosmetic but a gear slot that also happens to change the look of your character as most players will prioritize stats over looks

Talking about D4 open world not being diverse in look is a great point. PoE for example feels like every act is a lot different, also end game where you run maps from campaign is amazing because of the variety of looka around. So yea it's very much doabloe for D4 to have more variety.
Tried this out, just finished act 2. Found 3 set items in act2, shame it was three copies of Isenhart's Sword... The constant sense of frustration is wonderful!
The one thing I love about console. Slot 1 and 2 are assigned to health and mana pots. So you can keep consuming from inventory without physically putting them in the slots. “As long as the slot has the same potion or is empty”
I don’t have time to watch the stream but I love the idea of these. It would be cool to have the good finds bookmarked in the vid or maybe a highlights reel.
Serious question: Did they ever make those red portals more dense creature mob-wise? That was the biggest complaint about those portals is there just wasn't nearly enough to kill to make it worth your time.
That SoJ moment was better than the entire D4 experience. Whenever a unique ring drops you get that small rush of adrenaline. Whenever stuff drops in D4 you just pick it up with the most dead feeling. Couldn't care less

But having 2 year old and a newborn was such a slap in the face, especially when the first kid grew up into a little devil. as a parent you think you can influence it a lot, but you cant, genes at such age reign supreme. If you get nanny which i guess is common in the states, then 5 in a short time can probably be handled. Anyway congratulations llama, but give it time, you have yet to learn. Yes it does, I currently have five. After three, four and five are nothing. They have friends to hang out with. Older brother and sister to play with. All children are within 18 months of each other.
you disagree but agree at the same time. After 3, 4th and 5th are nothing implies non-linear difficulty, meaning first 3 were more difficult. I suspect you would also agree that having 2 kids is way more difficult/complicated than having 1.
Mr. Llama you know eventually those "newborns" will be toddlers who will be able to RUN, JUMP, and CLIMB to where ever they want... diapers and sleep schedules will feel like a vacation hahahahaha

I’m grateful that he puts out free content here and loads of it that I can consume whichever way I like…but being told to leave bc you have a different opinion on something is a thing that I find unprofessional in general. If I were steaming for fun then sure…but to drive off a “paying customer” so to speak bc you disagree doesn’t sit well with me.
I get both sides but sometimes people are just kinda dicks. There is a difference between a differing opinion on a topic and going into a stream and telling a guy they used to be fun. But at least he lets non sub people talk in chat. I'm always the most annoyed when a streamer leaves sub only mode on the entire time because they don't want to deal with anyone who hasn't paid them first. Its a big turn off to me and I think a sign of being too fragile for an online setting. I also think its extremely unwelcoming to anyone new coming to the stream to not be allowed to interact at all. So I do still have respect for the people who will at least give people the chance to fuck up first.
If you do a run like this again, I think it could be cool to make an exception for magic or rare items only if MF is one of the mods. It definitely makes it easier, you can fill out resists and such, but you'd also find way more usable uniques.

18:30 I think the issue is that it was just dead time between the waypoint and the dungeon, running as fast as your horse will let you. Instead of TP to the dungeon maybe add something on the way to dungeons like say a chance at a roaming boss that has a higher drop % for uniques or something like they have in helltide, something worth stopping and farming along the way. Because at the moment events arent worth doing on the way, elite packs are denser in the dungeons and drop ancestrals more frequently.
game is legit as vanilla as it ever will be right now i think given a few seasons there will be more open world content, poe didn't have anything goin on when it launched hell i played that game with you farmed aquaducts as end game lol...d2 def has a lack of end game. Personally i dont mind teleporting to dungeons fighting monsters is what people want in an arpg the most successful one currently is poe (excluding d4 from the conversation its pretty new) and the end game consists of running maps, people want to fight stuff cause combat is fun and the core part of the experience. The bones of the game seem solid but im def a d4 fan so take it as you will :P (i think if they went back to prenerf lootgoblins thats basically your boss idea not sure why they gutted them)
@@Da5kone001 My opinion, as a D2R fanboy, is that D2's endgame is the loot grind. That works for me, because i find the loot of D2 really interesting. I've had a lot of fun trying to complete my online unique and rune grail.
@@JB-th4bx thats nothing you cant do in any arpg tho it doesnt set itself apart in that regard but i also agree its fun farming uniques and seeing what you can get thats half the fun of most arpgs for me and i think most people
@@Da5kone001 Sure. But there are games that do it better than others. My only arpgs are D1, D2, and D3. I quickly lost interest in playing D3. After you get your Haedrigs gift, and kanai's cube, and your few other pieces for your build, there isn't another interesting loot change that will ever happen for your character. You may find ancient, or primal ancient, or something with better crit chance, but those are just incremental improvements. The game basically turns in to a paragon grind, because it dominates all other improvements. That was boring to me.
@@JB-th4bx ye i get that for sure d3 def plays differently these days than it used to as well, but i think in general it appeals to the number get bigger type of crowd lol you have to really be motivated to push those higher GRs for it to stay fun an interesting.(although i will say full auged ancient gear is drastic power differences than leggos that doesnt change the fact d3 isnt for everyone i think the gift system in general streamlined that game a lil too much. I always find it weird that combat doesnt matter more to people in ARPGs I really think that matters more to me than anything its what you do the majority of the time its what i find fun.
As someone with multiple friends who all have different availabilities to play, I enjoy the level scaling of d4. It allows us to play together even though I have more time to play than them. I'm not just rushing them to my spot and helping them level. Plus once we get out of tier 2, we don't worry about scaling anymore because we are doing nm dungeons.
The glove thing you contemplated at the start confused me for a sec. Because I was thinking, no you can't put on cracked gloves or something and then punch with that until it breaks, but they don't break from attacking from from being attacked, so you could technically do that. But isn't that weird that the game just ignores that you're punching with gloves? I guess they really do go on your left foot :p And then you have a pair of boots tied together on the right foot that only the assassin is trained in to kick with. It all makes sense now!
Love your stuff man quick question, you said early in your run if u found tals ammy it would be cool but u couldn't use it...why is that tals ammy is part of the tal rashas set is it not?
I like the fact that you don't want D4 to be a remake of any of the other titles. That said, all of the negativity that seems to be going their way, regardless of what they intended the game to be, appears to be driving them to do things that head in that direction. When major personalities online push for a specific feature because of inefficiency reasons, and then get it, they then complain about it making this amazing open world really pointless because no one travels anymore. Gives one the impression that the devs are doing their best to appease as many fans as possible, while at the same time trying to tell their own story, all while being kneecapped by the fans that don't like this or that thing. There are lots of things that I don't like about D4, but I'm planning to wait and see how it plays out. D3, despite it's insanely rocky start, turned out to be an overall enjoyable game, lame story excepted. We all have come to expect so much from them based on other games, when we need to remember how hard it is to actually MAKE a game. You know how hard it is to do that, so with that perspective in mind, how would you fix the issues you see in D4, all while making everyone happy? Genuine question here, and not trying to troll.
People complain about Enigma being too strong mostly because it's the only way for most classes to get Teleport, what if they made a unique charm that gave +1 to teleport? Enigma would still be really good, but might not be quite as best in slot as it is now.
I played through the story line/campaign in D$ to watch the cutscenes I hadn't seen yet, and now I just fiddle around with builds when I get bored. I hate the "This is the only spec for _______ that works" that has become the norm. Enjoyed watching this idea for a playthrough and I think I'm going to for the pain and do a Barb playthrough. I would apply for the trademark for it before a patent/trademark troll sees a video or stream and takes it then sues you for using his trademarked term in your old videos and gets them all demonitized.
I *like*/s how every 3-5 minutes new person come in chat and 'hey I just come why you quit D4'. I feel it's a streamer curse, answering same question over and over and over. No one really asking about current run, sigh.
I put in a vote to respectfully request you do not have nearly impossible to find items. High runes, and nonexistent SOJ’s are one of my only negatives with D2. I’m not saying make everything gimme’s or even have the same chances… Being crazy rare is OK, but being functionally nonexistent is not.
Cmon now you think teleport to dungeon is a mistake but one of the first things people get in D2 is a teleport staff... Not to mention monsters are worth killing on the way to wherever you are farming/ way points are way closer to where you need to go in D2 due to the game being massively smaller. Killing levels 72 mobs on the way to a NM dungeon while your in your 90s has a 0% chance for an upgrade as they cant drop item level 800 items nor do they gave you any exp what so ever. Its basically 100% a waste of time. Which means you just run past everything/ have to climb up the same 3 cliffs for the 14th time that day. Much immersion best gameplay... Not to mention hell tide/Events/World bosses and many other reasons for going to the map. We aren't just "sitting in town" like d3
D4 open world is ok. Tp to dungeon don't change anything, you still need helltides/vampire zone/whisper for mats or spawn boss. D4 problem is the stats on gear and the lack of endgame activities. The endgame activities can be added but the stats can't easily changed (maybe a crafting system could help).
Best thing anyone can do for D4 is exactly this. Stop logging in and play something else. Blizzard will only move faster than snail-pace when everyone stops logging in. Historically proven. Every now and then I get the itch to login and slap some monsters...then I just think about my stash tabs and the build pidgeon-holes and how I'm missing altars and I just remember why I'm not logging in.
the beeauty of diablo 2 i played for 20+ years (i was 7 when I started and im 32 , 33 in march.) and theres always something I'd find or learn every few months, and I had high tier items ect on all chars - sold my zon for 1k USD 10 years ago ect

You are getting near to the tooth pain. I hope she will never get a good schedule but dont get high expectations. I completed the 1st year and still no sleep, no schedule. Every night "please girl, sleep well so daddy can sleep more than 4 hours".
Did this idea come from TheNuclearRabbit's youtube channel? First time I saw this kinda run was from him. Love these kinda ideas. He does HC SSF runs of all kinda weird builds. Very refreshing.
I did not expect to get mentioned in the comments. I got the idea from Regular Schmuck. So I wasn't the first either. And I'm going for unique only, but I don't stream so I can just grind till my eyes bleed without worrying about entertaining my live audience. So I have much more leeway in that regard.
D4 feels like it really wants to be D3, but at the same time cannot allow itself to be compared to D3. End result, so far, is a better intended but less functional version of D3.
I'm convinced blizzard intentionally designs their games to be bad in certain areas, like in d4 they are making it easier for hardcore characters to die so people will restart more and play more.
It's funny how people seem upset that Llama has problems with D4. If Llama's opinion affects your enjoyment of D4, maybe ask yourself why that is. Maybe hearing an expert air their grievances about a game is valuable. Would you rather have games get progressively worse or progressively better?
43:07 "You're playing the widely regarded weakest class..." First let me say that I enjoy D4, I give it a 7/10 and I'm in the mid level 70s, I have fun with it, but does whoever said this understand... that if a class is so imbalanced it makes the game noticeably worse... saying "play a different class" isn't a defense. The game is poorly balanced, in that case, that's a bad thing. That's another negative, not a defense.
Right there in the first couple of minutes you were talking about Players 8 vs 7 vs 5 vs 3 etc, and you never finished the thought! Ack! Do you have a vid where you talk about the differences?
Three isn't bad. I have four and they're all under 5yo. I'm the one looking after them. Biggest jump is from none to one, then from one to two. Two to anything more than that is pretty similar. IMO, of course. Edit: worth mentioning that the world is pretty much designed for groups of four, though. Having 3+ kids makes everything substantially more complicated and/or expensive when it pertains to making reservations for hotels/vacations.
Have you ever played PokeMMO? It's a fan run mod using pokemon fire red emulated as the base and you can see everyone in the world and stuff, and only a few people can capture the legendary pokemon, but I think you can win them from them if u duel them. Just thought you might consider looking at it for some ideas about Llama RPG since it would kinda run the same way.
Imagine an old D2 addict finding joy in this video 1 year after you posted it... Love this game.

My opinion, as a D2R fanboy, is that D2's endgame is the loot grind. That works for me, because i find the loot of D2 really interesting. I've had a lot of fun trying to complete my online unique and rune grail.
@@JB-th4bx thats nothing you cant do in any arpg tho it doesnt set itself apart in that regard but i also agree its fun farming uniques and seeing what you can get thats half the fun of most arpgs for me and i think most people
@@Da5kone001
Sure.
Uhh was thinking how to name my game. Thank you llama, now ill name it llama RPG XD
That Blizzard skill ❄️🥶💙💙💙💙
next you should play only runewords with a mod that ups rune drops slightly, that'd be a fun watch too
That’s basically every other speedrun lol
Nice! and intesting run!
Late to the party, but i think he meant that he will be finished before meating the lvl-req.
Such a fun idea. Love it
I have 5 kids, 2 biological and 3 bonus. They range from 4-14. It’s hard.
Haha I just heard the suburban thing, we have an expedition 😂
I'm watching you play a good Diablo game while playing a bad one. Yes, I mean Diablo 4
I really wish game dev's would give a large update. Say its there, but not tell anyone what it is or how it works and let the community figure it out.
Take it from this D2 vet: if you’d found a Cracked Sash, that would totally have counted as a Unique item.
Games should have a "Dad" mode that's only available off-line and offers increased gold, experience, loot drops, quest rewards etc etc.
Yeah, that’s what I’m waiting for.
Runewords are OP…👏🏻👏🏻
The endgame activities can be added but the stats can't easily changed (maybe a crafting system could help).
this reminds me of ziggyd‘s gucci-hobo character in poe
D4 needs to be cool like D2, Keep it simple.
You need to register your trademark to protect it legally. Call IP lawyers and see about a free consultation.
I love how Llama subtley called out quin and xqc for being toxic.
Llama rpg demo potentially end of July???? Wwwoooooo
The main thing I took away from this is who the fuck wants to have 5 kids xD
Truly an insane number of kids to want lol
I just found out the Meph portal can be Telekineses-ed (don't have to wait for the bone bridge to spawn).
the beeauty of diablo 2 i played for 20+ years (i was 7 when I started and im 32 , 33 in march.) and theres always something I'd find or learn every few months, and I had high tier items ect on all chars - sold my zon for 1k USD 10 years ago ect
44:38 how you sweet summer child, newborn phase is the easiest! they just eat sleep cry and poop. Wait til they start screaming I hate you like anakin skywalker or throw tantrums over literally anything xD
Man you gotta resolve that Tristram record on the intro
This would be a lot more interesting if it was a physical character where you actually had to farm some items instead of just a naked caster run.
Nah, he's done a bunch of these in the past.
i actually invented playing d2 nuclearrabbit stole the idea for me (also im being silly lol)
I did not expect to get mentioned in the comments.
I got the idea from Regular Schmuck. So I wasn't the first either. And I'm going for unique only, but I don't stream so I can just grind till my eyes bleed without worrying about entertaining my live audience. So I have much more leeway in that regard.
@@Da5kone001I'm sorry I'll give it back when I'm done
D4 feels like it really wants to be D3, but at the same time cannot allow itself to be compared to D3. End result, so far, is a better intended but less functional version of D3.
Might get blasted for this but despite its flaws (and the fact that it barely feels like a Diablo game at all) D3 is more fun at the moment than D4.
@@weewillywongaSadly agreed

Mrllama Speedruns parenting.
i really like your view of diablo 4, hope someone at blizz hear you :)
I'm convinced blizzard intentionally designs their games to be bad in certain areas, like in d4 they are making it easier for hardcore characters to die so people will restart more and play more.
That SoJ drop tho
I double dog dare you to do this run with a Frenzy Barb xD
It's funny how people seem upset that Llama has problems with D4. If Llama's opinion affects your enjoyment of D4, maybe ask yourself why that is. Maybe hearing an expert air their grievances about a game is valuable. Would you rather have games get progressively worse or progressively better?
I’m doing a Players8 set/unique walkthrough once I get my new computer. My old one was stolen.
5 kids is insane! 2 was plenty for me.
That's another negative, not a defense.
pally unique run!
Right there in the first couple of minutes you were talking about Players 8 vs 7 vs 5 vs 3 etc, and you never finished the thought! Ack! Do you have a vid where you talk about the differences?
2 kids. You get to play man to man defense. 3 kids you have to switch to zone. Any more and it’s chaos.
