Initially I was just reviewing the footage of both. When I noticed the similarities between the object interaction. That’s when I went back and superimposed them.
Holy crap my dude! That overlay comparison idea was mind-blowing to see both products being compared side by side! Super glad to have seen you do that, cause I wouldn't have though of it. I had to pause the video, get out of full screen just so I could smash that like button in an instant before continuing on with the video haha.
Wow. This was exactly what i needed. Interested in q revo but was worried about it's obstacle avoidance. Based on this it looks very decent. Thank you!
Watch the video from about the q revo from Vacuum Wars and it doesn't perform as well there. I think the s8 pro ultra can recognize and avoid a lot more objects than the q revo
Never really appreciated the obstacle avoidance. Who doesn’t remove everything when they are vacuuming or mopping regardless of what is being used. Do people just mop around a shoe in the middle of the floor?
What? You have a dog that isn’t house trained and you aren’t aware or looking for piles in your house? You’d have to be blind and no sense of smell to miss it.
smarter users automate the process and don't think about it too much, cuz If there's anything laying on the floor it will probably be gone 2 days later when the robot goes again, not a problem
@@bw162when people have pets that like to play after the humans go to bed toys can be left on the floor. I have my robot vacuum clean the floors in the early morning hours so we have a nice clean floor when we wake up. Not everyone has the “perfect organized floor”. Been watching review videos to get an idea of which roborock I want, your choice of items especially the kong wobbler was the most realistic object avoidance I have seen. We use one at home as well. Guess Q revo it is.
Buying 2 Q Revos would make the most sense, double the cleaning time and coverage, it’s the smart choice given the cost of the very competent S8, at $1600. Unless the S10 is introduced, I see it on international markets, not for USA release, possibly due to the camera capture feature.
Great review and video real world comparison. I am confused by your ultrasonic cleaning statement, however. I see nothing on the Roborock website about this. As far as I can tell, the pad simply vibrates at a high frequency at a low amplitude back and forth pattern, but there is no sound traveling through and agitating a liquid, which is how an ultrasonic cleaner works. Not that it makes any real difference in performance it seems, but can you elaborate or point to the details of this function on the S8 so I can learn more?
q revo station we have has red light on the station and its not drawing water from the fresh water tank. it is depositing to the dirty tank tho. not sure what to test next
@@retrotechandelectronics well im applying water to the docking station to see if that helps. And it only works for the cleanup.its not taking in water in the internal tank of the cleaning unit

It looks like the same problem I have with S7 MaxV Ultra, is going to be on this new S8 vacuum. I never refill the water tank on the vacuum on my own, because it auto fills it, but today, I was looking at the cashback offer, and cleaning it up for pictures, and there is brown build up or mold/mildew in the tank! So I have been cleaning my floors with dirty water! gross! I have found the same brown mildew in my clean water tank too, but Today is the first time I even looked at the vacuum's water tank. Please come out with a better solution to add to the Roborock products! It says you are only allowed to use Roborock cleaning solution, so now I don't know what to do!
Hello there sir. Great video. i want to know how far into corners and wall the mob can clean. the store salesmen told me that the s8 ultra, could get all the way into the wall, while the Q revo could not. Hope you reply Thank you ;)
IMHO the pro ultra has a much better detection system and a level up from the q. I swapped my q revo for my Dad’s s8 pro after owning the q for 2 months and NEVER looking back. Thx Dad

Thanks! Very useful video. If you would buy again, wich model do you prefer after testing? And, can you do more testing with the obstacle avoidance between these two robots?
Honestly, if I had both in hand having done these tests and was offered to but one for my particular situation. I would have gotten the w Revo And not the S8.

Can you elaborate do you clean the scrubber pads with it? Why else would you show it and mention it other than plug it for advertising?
Wrong. Pay attention before making accusations. The pads are washed in the washing machine. They function on the robot as an ultrasonic cleaner. The specific frequencies mentioned.
It really makes no sense to buy anything other than the Q Revo. Technology will move on significantly every couple of years anyway so why spend more when you don't need to?

Very well done with overlay, was scared of bad q revo algorithms , but now I'm not
The Q Revo is on sale for $670 right now and this video is encouraging me to pull the trigger on it.
Great value for the money
Same. I have a Q7maxplus but the mopping is poor unless I pre-wet the floors with a solution/water and damp the mop+ change mop for every room
