Don't think this was mentioned or reviewed but all 3 brand uses NON-reusable dust bag which cost at least $20 SGD and above from the Original Equipment Manufacturer. Sort of like paying subscription fees ($20 to $30 ) periodically every 2 to 3 months to ensure the vacuum system stays optimal. From my brief research, one can probably extend the lifespan of the NON-reusable dust bag by emptying it but eventually the bag will be clogged which affect the performance. Any chance you could test whether the system allows disposal of dust manually e.g. directly from the robot instead of having to replace the dust bag? One should also consider the lifespan of the battery and that the dust bag model may eventually be obsolete forcing you to replace the entire system perhaps every 2 to 3 years. So on top of the vacuum price of $1000 + you may well be spending an additional $200+ per year and perhaps even more for the other spare parts to upkeep the system.

T20 omni unfortunately doesn’t mop using hot water you’ll find by the time it reaches its point of cleaning or within a minute of leaving the dock it’s cold especially in the summer months when AC is on, I currently have a roborock S8 pro ultra hooked up to my own DIY water kit, it’s pretty simple, I offer this to friends for a small fee and include a limscale remover so the water is as pure as a bottle of Fiji after going through a filtration system it’s, it’s my go to V&M robot vacuum cleaner and the best part about my modifications is it doesn’t void the warranty I’m currently in discussions with RoborockEU about the design which may be purchased from me which i assume is for a future release, the L20 is a decent almost unreal dream however I think there’s going to be some issues with some shaggy rugs they encounter, had they put the classic cloth mop on I would of possibly purchased it but I also have marble and I’ve had nothing but issues with those types of of mops leaving streaks and some I’ve had to get an older machine out to fix or use a steam cleaner, I really hope I’m wrong but people running out taking advantage of the special offer of $450 off only to realise it’s a flawed machine that’s being hyped to be the best of the best, I really look forward to see how you find it in 12 months and how many firmware updates they produce over that time period my guess is 20-30 and it’s still having issues
if environment or floor material is cold then of course the water will not be hot unless you are constantly heating the water. So how will you attempt to do hot water mopping using the traditional manner, you will first heat up the water and pour inside a pail right, then take a mop and rinse it using that hot water. How long will the mop remains hot? its the same idea. I rather it has firmware updates, at least I know the manufacturer is constantly working and improving it rather than a company that doesn't provide updates at all
i will say there is no specific requirement because you can always get a suitable adapter separately, maybe just water pressure being between 0.14MPa and 1MPa which i think 90% of the people won't have issue
Alex i remember you commenting on my FFXIV videos - i just wanted to say thank you for the video, I literally was thinking of buying a Robot Vacuum in SG, and this video was a lifesaver.
Hi Alex! I bought an Ecovacs x1 after seeing your review 😂 I'm wondering if you encountered any problems with the emptying of water from the cleaning sink with any of your robots? In my case, the suction from the cleaning sink to the dirty water tank is a regular issue despite maintenance. I will probably get a new robot to replace this next year but do not wish to be faced with the same issue. Any insights? Pls share as always! Thanks!
Most likely is because your dirty water tank is not placed properly, usually the case when its empty, just exert a bit of force to make sure its properly sit in
I am having the same problem, that just started this week. T10 Omni (china version), I have a 6 year warranty/guarantee so will call them if I can't fix it through the standard ways.
I knew dreame was different when even their d9.. pretty much economy model.. performed way better and had wayyy better navigation, and in-depth features, than the bigger brands.
As mentioned this feature is not new in china, the narwal J2 thats released more than a year ago already has it. Did you see the Ecovacs X2 pro released outside of china? Can share the link
@@AlexTeo I have not seen it outside china yet (I am in China). Wonder why they don't have these plumbed in versions outside china? I think if they ever did a version with this and a way to top up the soap automatically AND a way of emptying the base bin (or a bigger bin). It would be great. Check it once a week. I think even if exported it may not work outside china because of the APP servers, my T10 Omni does not like it if I put my VPN on it's wifi, can't connect to the app.
Going off the robot vacuum topic here, am wondering if Alex or any viewers have a recommendation for air purifier. I keep seeing ads for Sterra Moon but haven’t really dived into my research. Hoping to hear some recommendations/ feedback to help narrow down my search. My basic research tells me we actually just need one with a HEPA filter & activated charcoal, all the other bells & whistles are totally unnecessary (unproven) & may even ironically pollute our earth. But any first hand experience with how much area a specific brand/ model can cover, difference you can physically feel, easy of cleaning, noise level & energy consumption will be great!
Previously tried Dreame L10s ultra but mopping not up to my standard and sold away after buy Airbot L107s at $600 (half price of L10s ultra) 😂 with hot mop which do slightly better mop but can't do cycle cleaning. Not sure why Airbot have taken the product down 😢
Not sure if you mentioned it in this or previous reviews: Can you define different areas for dry vs. wet cleaning, or do they decide on their own based on type of floor (carpet, wood or tiles...)
Thanks Alex this is great,! If i do the auto cleaning water kit, how often do i need to remove the dirty water filter? once a month? i am trying to put this under my kitchen sink, and wonder whether he can work with just 80cm and ocassionally pull the base out for detergent refill and dirty water filter change.
Hi Alex, noted that you also keep a fluffy dog at home. I am wondering among these robot vacuums you have tested in your reviews. Which robot vacuum stands out to detect dog poop as the last thing we would want from a robot vacuum is the pet waste being splattered all over during the sweeping and mopping of the floor.
You will want premium robot vacuums with camera, in this video only the dreame L20 has it, roborock S8 and ecovacs X2 as well. But i will say dont take the chance, if your dog poop is big and nicely shaped still fine, but what if the poop is watery due to bad stomach. Another way is if your dog is potty train, you can set no-go zone for that area, just dont fully rely on AI because its not 100% foolproof
Looking at your "cons" for the Robotic Revo Q, I wonder if you found the place in the App that the clean settings can be customized for each room. That is, set for each room: vacuum only, mop only, or both vacuum and mop. (The cleaning customization settings are not easy to find in the app.)
@@AlexTeo Yes, but the Roborock App does a poor job of showing you how to customize. First, "Enter" your device. Below the map, select "rooms"; then select the "S" shaped icon in the lower right. Now select "Customize"; select "Edit"; and select a room. From the menu, select the cleaning modes and cleaning action you desire, select the check mark to save; the map will now show a symbol in each room for the custom mop/vacuum action you have pre-programmed. Now, when you go about cleaning, I believe the mop/vacuum action will be per this customization.
For the more privacy concerned folks like me the Dreame L20 Ultra unfortunately comes with a camera and no way to operate in the event that the internet is down. In your next video on robo vacuum could you include some options for people like me and also to include some notes on home assistant integrations?

Will u be doing a more detailed review of the L20. Esp on the auto water kit and any pre-requisites for its installation? e.g. service yard location etc..
Hi Alex, for the L20 Ultra is the installation with the water hookup kit simple enough to be done by ourselves or would it be better to go through their installers?
I will still get a handheld vacuum for adhoc, specific cleaning with those attachments like crevice tool. For mopping i still do steam mopping once a while for deep cleaning
@AlexTeo the L20 ultra with water kit attached. Even for water dispensers we need to change filters yearly. I am not sure if the refilled water will eventually be so dirty that it defeats the purpose of using it to clean 😂

Hi Alex, great content! I've decided to purchase Dreame L20 after watching your video. Do you know the minimum height to allow the opening of the cover for under table or sink installation? Planning to put the base station under my desk.
Thank you so much for this, Alex - super helpful! If you don't mind, could I check if this is still relevant as of July 2024, or is there a more diserable unit over the L20 that you'd prefer these days? :)

I'm using Dreame L10s ultra. It seems the vacuum first then mop option is no longer available. So now I have to set two scheduled tasks one for vacuum and one for mopping..
Thanks for the video, full of detail. I used a ecovacs t20 , there is a problem , it keep.stopped under the bed and it can't return home most of the time. I have to lift it up and move it back to dock. The space between the bed and floor have around 20cm which should able to come back and I do in the morning with a lot of sun light in the room. I have returned. Now , T20 is cheaper then what I brought, T20 is $899 , Revo is $999, USD. Should I try the revo?
Th DreameBot L10 Ultra is stilla good choice. But a question: in the L20 Ultra you stated -Install and forget- but you still have to clean it once a month? And how about the base? How dirty will it be? Or has it a method to clean autonomingly?
the necessary maintenance work can be performed just once per month, ie. clean sensors, clean base, clean filter, remove entangled hair, change dust bag
After your review I'm conflicted between the qrevo and l20. l20 is $350 more than qrevo though. in your opinion for a small 68sqm 3rm hdb, which would you recommend? Would prefer hot water washing.
@@AlexTeo no problem, pulled the trigger on the qrevo maxv since it was 300+ cheaper than the x30 without the features i didnt really need like removable mop and auto soap dispenser and less 1000pa & no hair cutter. Consider it somewhat superior to dreame l20 since it has hot water washing and a good 1 piece base for easy cleanning.
Dreame L10s ultra users, anyone experience this issue of when the robot returns to dock, it drops a small pile of dust in front of the dock? was wondering if its a common issue or my piece is defective. Also curious to know if L20 has the same issue or was it solved.
I want to ask, if I could ask for a video of the differences and comparison between the Roborock S8 MaxV and the T20 Omni and L20, which one is better?

Not sure why Airbot have taken the product down 😢
robot vacuum is those type of product which either i get a good one or i totally don't use one at all haa
Not sure if you mentioned it in this or previous reviews: Can you define different areas for dry vs. wet cleaning, or do they decide on their own based on type of floor (carpet, wood or tiles...)
on room level yes
@@AlexTeo Dos that mean that if I have a rug in the middle of a room that I want to keep dry, I have to set it up as a "room"?
Can't wait for Ecovac X2pro to come out in sg. I think it's the new game changer vs "round" vac robot
Irobot and dreame w10 are already D shaped, its slightly better than round but the extendable mop is a bigger difference
Is it manageable without the 95cm height clearance for detergent refill?
around 80 is enough but you also need to remove the dirty water filter
Thanks Alex this is great,!
If i do the auto cleaning water kit, how often do i need to remove the dirty water filter? once a month?
i am trying to put this under my kitchen sink, and wonder whether he can work with just 80cm and ocassionally pull the base out for detergent refill and dirty water filter change.
What is the most recommended vacuum robot without base station? My house doesn't have enough space to accommodate the station
can check out the switchbot S10
RobotPox is guaranteed for life
Couldnt find any info about robotpox
@alex, we live in a flat (above someone). Which would you recommend for the least noise/vibration so we don't bother our neighbors?
Looking at your "cons" for the Robotic Revo Q, I wonder if you found the place in the App that the clean settings can be customized for each room. That is, set for each room: vacuum only, mop only, or both vacuum and mop. (The cleaning customization settings are not easy to find in the app.)
i explained about this and show the screens at 10:47, so is there a way to set number of cleaning cycles for each room?
@@AlexTeo Yes, but the Roborock App does a poor job of showing you how to customize. First, "Enter" your device. Below the map, select "rooms"; then select the "S" shaped icon in the lower right. Now select "Customize"; select "Edit"; and select a room. From the menu, select the cleaning modes and cleaning action you desire, select the check mark to save; the map will now show a symbol in each room for the custom mop/vacuum action you have pre-programmed. Now, when you go about cleaning, I believe the mop/vacuum action will be per this customization.
Hello! Just want to check if you build a ramp at the service yard area for the dreame to go up?
There is a ramp but its there by default!
For the more privacy concerned folks like me the Dreame L20 Ultra unfortunately comes with a camera and no way to operate in the event that the internet is down.
In your next video on robo vacuum could you include some options for people like me and also to include some notes on home assistant integrations?
you can always black tape and cover the camera if it's bothering you, i did shared the available smart home integrations at 11:26
How would you compare the L20 vs L10s ultra? Worth upgrading after the price drops a bit? (apart from the water kit)
yes the edge cleaning is really niceeee, and able to dock the pads if you got high pile carpets
@@AlexTeo D: Heart pain. I just bought 2 months ago only the L10s around $1100... haha thanks for the reply
@@spvn same here cos Dreame SG only just started selling the L10s with water kit in June & I bought it straightaway. Who knows the new model is out within 3 months 😢🤦🏻♂️🤦🏻♂️
Can I ask about uneven surfaces? Can all robots handle a 30mm drop between areas?
Will u be doing a more detailed review of the L20. Esp on the auto water kit and any pre-requisites for its installation? e.g. service yard location etc..
Unlikely, just need a water source, a water drain and power outlet
For the L20 did you purchase with installation service? Or it is easy to install ownself?
Yes i did get the installation service because i am doom if i screw up everything and flood the kitchen. But the next one i will be able to diy
I think your comparison of Roborock Q revo vs Ecovacs T20 omni is the only honest review on youtube. Others review seem paid
Best reviews, thank you! Subscribed!
thanks thanks!
Any recommendation for vacuum with self empty dust bag. Mopping not required
can consider samsung jetbot
Would the dreame l20 be able to climb the traditional kerb in BTO service yard?
Philips just launched their 2-in-1 mop vacuum robot. Hope you could do a review on that soon!
Good and detailed review! I’m searching for a new robot, so enjoyed watching the video. Thank you😊
hi, How does it clean hard and dry dirt?
my perception of a hard and dry dirt is it requires a good amount of strength to scrub
thanks for replying
is the dreame l20 is good for it? @@AlexTeo
Hi Alex, how did you install the L20 Dreame? Did you opt in for the installation offered by Dreame, got a different contractor or did it yourself?
offered by dreame/dasher, but after seeing how its being done, I can now diy myself even for other brands
Hey! Would you recommend the L20 or the X30 ultra?
i would be checking out the X40 ultra this year before sharing my thoughts
Hi Alex, for the L20 Ultra is the installation with the water hookup kit simple enough to be done by ourselves or would it be better to go through their installers?
this is subjective, download the instruction manual then you decide for yourself
Are any of them able to go up a slight slope or a kerb?
Very very slight
Considering these robos now do everything, is it still necessary to get separate vacuum and mop?
I will still get a handheld vacuum for adhoc, specific cleaning with those attachments like crevice tool. For mopping i still do steam mopping once a while for deep cleaning
@@AlexTeo that makes sense, haha thank you!
Hi Alex, do you feel there's a need to clean the water tank due to potential algae/bacteria growth?
you mean for which model?
@AlexTeo the L20 ultra with water kit attached.
Even for water dispensers we need to change filters yearly. I am not sure if the refilled water will eventually be so dirty that it defeats the purpose of using it to clean 😂
@@roy7944 why you compare it to a water dispenser instead of washing machine haa
What would you choose between the L10S ultra vs the Q revo? - your input would be greatly appreciated
Q Revo - as mentioned these are my top 3 recommendations
Is the water kit for the Dreame worth the extra expense?
100% over any other features
@@AlexTeo can I check if the dust bag is not reusable and we have to replace it every time?
@@chenyixiang690you can use your hand to remove the content in the dust bag but i really dont think anybody will want to do that
@@AlexTeo thank you. I have another question. Did you put your machine in the service yard? How much space was available there? My service yard is quite small but I was hoping that I can squeeze the machine there in order to make use of the water supply and drainage pipe.
Hi Alex, great content! I've decided to purchase Dreame L20 after watching your video. Do you know the minimum height to allow the opening of the cover for under table or sink installation? Planning to put the base station under my desk.
wow nice haa... i will say around 90cm
how long does your L20 last? some user commented, it only lasted 2 month before it needs to be complete replaced?
if its 2 months then the warranty should still cover
Do you recommend to change the s7 plus to roborock q revo?
Your s7 has the hot air module imstalled? If no then i will recommend to change provided you managed to sell your s7
@AlexTeo great advice i will try to sale it. Thanks bro
Any recommendations for a good vacuum only robot?
Samsung jetbot
How does the Q revo compare to the S8, considering S8 is significantly cheaper?
curious where are you based? so far i don't see any countries selling Q Revo at a higher price vs S8
I’m based on sg! I’m referring to the s8, not s8 ultra haha I see on shopee that it’s 699 and heard it dropped to 4xx during 9.9
Thank you so much for this, Alex - super helpful! If you don't mind, could I check if this is still relevant as of July 2024, or is there a more diserable unit over the L20 that you'd prefer these days? :)
yeah i think most likely, the new models from the big 3 brands all look interesting, I will definitely have videos on robot vacuum this year!
@@AlexTeo thanks Alex! Looking forward to this:) will likely be making a decision on which to go for based on your vid, save us all lots of time - thank you so much!!
How long does a dreame L20 need to clean a big room 12ft by 18ft in standard cleaning mode?
will u recomend the x2 ?
Not in my top 5 recommendation
@@AlexTeo thx u, i think l20s still best buy
@@AlexTeowhy not? Price aside.
I bought L10s dreame with auto water and empty piping 3 months ago, l20 definitely not the first, but looks the same except for the color
yeah, i will say at launch with a base station that has the waterkit built in mind
@@AlexTeo the installation fee is expensive, so I install myself as I have reserve water inlet outlet near my kitchen basin during renno
Is it still worth it to get the dreame L20 if im unable to connect the water kit?
Not quite
Naise! Always looking forward to your videos!
thanks thanks!
is the q revo have facetime camera???
Nope no camera
@@AlexTeo why not , i would love to buy it if they add camera
I'm using Dreame L10s ultra. It seems the vacuum first then mop option is no longer available. So now I have to set two scheduled tasks one for vacuum and one for mopping..
You csn set it at shortcuts
Hey can I ask if the soap dispensing function for Dreame L20 still works without the water hook up kit?
yup it does
Thanks for the video, full of detail. Should I try the revo?
yeah i think you should! keep searching for one robot vacuum that meets your expectations!
It doesn't clean the floor with hot water and the dreame puts water in the tray too if you hold the home button
Would prefer hot water washing.
both doesnt have hot water washing, have to look at other models
@@AlexTeo no problem, pulled the trigger on the qrevo maxv since it was 300+ cheaper than the x30 without the features i didnt really need like removable mop and auto soap dispenser and less 1000pa & no hair cutter.
Consider it somewhat superior to dreame l20 since it has hot water washing and a good 1 piece base for easy cleanning.
Love this video. Thanks Alex!
Thanks for the support!
Will you be testing the Q Revo MaxV / Pro
most likely I will do all top end or budget models comparison
Dreame L10s ultra users, anyone experience this issue of when the robot returns to dock, it drops a small pile of dust in front of the dock? was wondering if its a common issue or my piece is defective.
Also curious to know if L20 has the same issue or was it solved.
Hi I'm looking to get the T20. Can I check if you are able to add my own floor detergent to the T20 base station?
of course you can but you need to know what's ok what's not
which of the vacuum are able to handle house with pet (dog) , my corgi shedding like mad
all of them are fine, you just need to vacuum probably twice per day
I want to ask, if I could ask for a video of the differences and comparison between the Roborock S8 MaxV and the T20 Omni and L20, which one is better?
as mentioned at 12:30, best robot vacuum in 2023 to me is the L20
Can Q revo do water refilling also?
Nope cant
