Hi sam, I had a very similar problem with the clutch in my Audi A5 3.0TDI. The clutch pedal went straight to the floor on my way to work one morning and I had the car picked up and towed to my mechanic a couple of miles away. He couldn't find anything wrong with it at all, but he took the master cylinder off, took it apart but couldn't find anything wrong. He refitted it and was about to drop the box and look at the slave cylinder and as soon as he started the car the clutch was back. No idea how or why, but here were no more clutch problems from there until I traded the car in. Not saying that the same would happen to your r8, but just chucking in my 2 cents worth. We have a 1986 VW Golf 1.8 (gas) that we purchased new. At about 80,000 miles it developed an internal coolant leak. We had no choice but to continue to drive it. One day the coolant overflow container ruptured. After that I tried a block sealer out of desperation. It held for almost 20,000 miles. Each time the coolant leak reared it's head I just sealed it again. The car has continued to run to nearly 300,000 miles with block sealing as part of our 20,000 mile service 😁😁. It's really just temporary, but it works. For less than $100 we've managed to get another 200,000 miles out what the VW dealership deemed a 'blown engine.'
I don't know what it is,but I love escalades too! There's just something about the bulk and interior that just makes you want to own and drive one daily regardless of the gas lol

Hey Sam, Please do a R8 video. Its what brought me to your channel originally and quite frankly is what i miss from your channel…in-depth repair videos. luv your work!
Cam / crank implausible could just be a bad cam / crank sensor. It could also be the cam no longer lines up with the crank and that will be an issue. Here's hoping it's just a sensor issue!
You lucked out on that Lincoln. Ford Tech Macado had an engine with this same issue on his channel. I am skeptical that Ford fixed that issue. These direct injection turbo engines put too much pressure on the engine.
I had an Audi S5 (4.2 V8, 6spd manual) that had the exact same issue, no leak, just showed a brake light and pedal went to the floor. I changed both the master cylinder and slave cylinder and it fixed the issue, hopefully that helps keep you from pulling the trans!
The only thing I would recommend after doing a fix like that flush your coolant system so that your coolant ports don't start getting sealed up in your radiator and other small ports.
I love what you did to the Porsche… the engine out rebuild is way beyond the value of the vehicle so what you did to make it drivable is great… The worst thing is you can drive it for a while and then either pull the engine or part out the car.
Damn same that's a lot of blowing. Seems like you have had some practice 😂 But seriously that's amazing that sealer worked ... I guess for how long ... But it beats a rebuild

Crankshaft relearn might fix the dtc- but the 6.2 liter engines are known for intake leaks and also needing new injectors after that many miles. Good luck!
Sam, I’ll gladly help you with the Porsche. Just lend it to me for a few days so I can go explore Florida and put some more mileage on it. That way we can really prove if it’s solve the issue.
Great update Sam! Glad to see you still have that R8. I remember the work you put into getting the frame straightened out. Also please to see that 997 running after you plugged the cracked head. I think a dyno trip may be a good idea. I'd hate to see that 911 break down on a drag strip. Too embarrassing.
If you can afford it, yes, buy the gas guzzler now. We got a year old Explorer back in 08, $36k sticker, for $17,900. A great deal to me. And we traded it in 5 years later with 55k miles for $13k! It cost me $1,000 a year to own.
Great video Sam. I like the current direction of your channel with a little more domestic, and less Ferrari content. To me there's no joy in a car that breaks severely every 3 or 4 months of driving - no matter how good in runs between disasters.

Hiya Sam, I'm a new subscriber and I'm also a mechanic of some 35 years. Now, I have used a specific block sealer for maybe 15 years and it never, ever, fails so long as you stick to the guidelines. So I'm in England and guess what?? The block sealer is American.✌️🇬🇧✌️🇺🇸

I want to see every repair you make! I wait every day for a post from you!
Sam I have a headlight cleaning hack use Klean Strip Liquid Sandpaper, degreaser and deglosser. Wipe the headlights then wash them and clear coat.
Audi R8 V10 is hands down my favorite car, looks absolutely gorgeous and drivability is top notch.
The BMW B7 is stunning and yes please do a video of the R8….btw what happened the Bentley?
Damn same that's a lot of blowing. Seems like you have had some practice 😂
But seriously that's amazing that sealer worked ... I guess for how long ... But it beats a rebuild
He seemed to having way to much fun blowing on that tube. 😬
It was disturbing to say the least! Thank goodness there was no tongue action included in this little “presentation”! Controversy and pushing the envelope are good ways to drum up views! Well done! It was cringey at first, and then I realized what you were doing! What are you gonna do next? Crawl under a car in a Speedo 2 sizes too small? LOL! Seriously, please don’t!! Just don’t! 😱😱
He could have broken the internet had he let his step mom blow that tube lol
Dude, you're amazing! I can write code and build tech startups but I can barely recognize a part under the hood. (insane I know) I love buying used cars but I always worry as I feel like I'm getting scammed. Thanks for shining a light for all of us.
My 1971 Dodge D100 with Slant 6 - has a Jasper re-manufactured slant 6... and runs and runs and runs and runs. Just fine.
Let's see that Audi R8 clutch/bearing video!
Finally Sam got a lift, as a guy that still do work curbside this made me smile
Great update video Sam!! Your content is as always a perfect mix!! Thank you Sam!!
That Alpina B7 is bad ass! I would keep it 🔥👌🏼
Any updates on the Viper yet ?
I love the update videos Sam
Great video Sam, all updates are always interesting!
Do the R8! Love that car! Keep up with the great content Sam!
That's awesome about the test fluid. I never knew that you could reuse it like that.
Aaaaaaand it looks like we have given up on the viper. 😂
Sam I’d just like to see how long you can nurse that Porsche along on cheap fixes.
That guy who said you were cheating with the test is a real db. We know you always speak the truth. Love to your stepmom.
I get lost when you jump from car to car. My unwanted, and probably unimportant, wish would be for most your videos to cover one problem / issue from beginning to the end. Great content on those vlogs, thanks
Good for you Sam as some people need to get out more.
Love to see the R 8 get fixed up!🇨🇦👍
All I learned was that legit street cars finishes projects Sam! What the hell! 😂 love your vids
Those wheels in the background at 14:06 🔥
Samcrac is a wizard. That's why it worked.
Awesome video Sam!!! Love the update stories. Also would love to see your repairs/tear downs on the R8 and 612
That gasket sealer is working insanely good. Still can’t believe it. Lots of fun projects lately.
A nice mix of all current samcrac's running projects👍
Crankshaft relearn might fix the dtc- but the 6.2 liter engines are known for intake leaks and also needing new injectors after that many miles. Good luck!
Well done with the Porsche Sam :)
What's the name of the product block sealer did you use?
Sam, I’ll gladly help you with the Porsche. Just lend it to me for a few days so I can go explore Florida and put some more mileage on it. That way we can really prove if it’s solve the issue.
Loving the colour of that Mustang!
Please do more videos on the R8
A nice crossover with two of my favorite channels with a great result with the Alpina!
(Nice Escalade!)
Yes id love to see the audi clutch job. Love your work
Awesome update Sam love the euro cars show the R8 fix and do another gti haha great stuff from Ft Myers Florida
Great looking Escalade
Great video Sam. I like the current direction of your channel with a little more domestic, and less Ferrari content. To me there's no joy in a car that breaks severely every 3 or 4 months of driving - no matter how good in runs between disasters.
Flying Wheels is doing a series on flipping a $400 into a ferrari. He's up to $65,000.00 and thinks he can buy a ferrari for that price. I keep referring him to samcrac's channel to see what buying a cheap ferrari gets you.
Always wanted to buy a theft recovery, never seem to find just the right car or in the right timing with life . Love to see what you come up with next .
Another great video sam👍 do the R8 video 👍
Thanks for the video we are big fans of yours!
