I Used 657 Keys to Unlock Giant Puzzle Doors - I Wanna Lockpick

- I Wanna Lockpick Part 2 - some puzzles I love, some puzzles I hate, it's the duality of Tyler. This episode has both types of puzzles, as well as a ton of keys. Hopefully the rest of the game has more of the type of puzzles that I like.

Did I really just count the entire number of keys seen in this video? Count them yourself to find out.
Also, this video was recorded before finding out that the game's OST was stolen from other games, so hopefully I don't get copyright claimed on this. Should be the last video that I have to worry about this, at least.
ok
Keep up the brain knowledge! 🧠
If it’s songs from other games Ittl be fine cause you could play those other games without getting claimed
Unless I’m being dumb
I mean if it's from other games 99% chance you'll be fine, almost all video game music's perfectly safe copyright-wise
I don't think there's much to worry about Tyler
I'm glad you enjoyed World 3 so much! And, yeah, World 4 is generally the worst-received world in the game. I actually think I'll vouch for the remaining puzzles in the world, but I agree with the sentiment that most of the early puzzles and the way they're presented is unsatisfactory. That world is a major speedbump for people playing the game. I'll be seeing what I can do to improve it in the full version!
i also had to take a break in world 4 lmao
I wonder how much could be attributed to the spaghetti that it feels to have 3 types of keys that overlap so heavily in function (due to keypick) though
I havent seen the extra worlds, but one thing I think could be kinda cool would be to reuse a mechanic you had earlier in the game but combine it with the new mechanics of world 4.
In one of the earlier worlds, you had a mechanic where you used some doors as platforms, that you didnt want to destroy otherwise you would fall and wouldnt be able to get up to a certain spot again. (but later you did need to break them to clear the level).
You can use this mechanic with the "freezing" mechanic by making the doors frozen allowing you to cross over them with keys of that color still as long as its still frozen. But once you have the unfreeze ability, you CAN still cross over the door if you dont have enough of the colored keys, but then you cant re-freeze the door.
I think that would add an interesting dynamic of a path that you can unlock in stages. When its frozen, you can go on that path with colored keys of the door type, but once you unfreeze the door, you can still go on that path, but now you cant use keys of the colored type. So at some point you want to avoid crossing it with a red key, but later in the level crossing it with a red key is fine, but crossing it with colored keys is bad.
And then at the end of the level you can break it to clear the level or something, or maybe not.
But its a mechanic that I think plays really well with the gimmick of world 4 as it adds a new dynamic to a previous puzzle.
Also, the "platforming" puzzles I think feel more refreshing because the doors dynamically change the layout of the level by opening up new paths while closing off old ones, rather than just unlock corridor after corridor that you can revisit at any time. Where you choose to go in what order physically changes the level which feels more engaging and rewarding when you get it right. Its not just about matching the number of keys and doors, but also keeping your platforms in tact while you do it.
The mechanic was cool but the puzzles were all a bit too linear. One thing that I think would help is a key(pun intended) out of reach in the walls. So when those mechanics showed up it would have a red key next to a frozen door, 5 green keys next to an eroded door, and/or 3 blue keys next to a graffitied door. Another unrelated thing is that it would be nice to customize the door and key colours for colorblind accessibility, which would probably be better to implement sooner than later
World 4 was particularly rough for me too. It's still the only pre-Backside area I've yet to do all the puzzles for!
...not that I've done all the extra puzzles in the Backside either.
The Klonoa music was nice, though. Gave me a rapid flashback.
Though it'd probably be better for a no-copyright version to exist.
Do the other worlds take a different approach than world 4, or should I wait for the release version? I had the same problem that Tyler had and stopped playing at 4-4.
I was scared we wouldn't be getting more episodes because of the copyright issues but I'm glad we are.
Agreed, and it's even got the music, not just turned off. Must have resolved something behind the scene

Aliensrock said this in the pinned comment:
> Also, this video was recorded before finding out that the game's OST was stolen from other games, so hopefully I don't get copyright claimed on this.
So no, I don't think anything was resolved at all, and I don't think we're getting anything past this.
@@Nerdule I think in the last video the creator says that the OST can be muted in game, so I think it's fine to continue
@@Nerdule The thing about UA-cam and copyright claims is that the original artist's behind the game's music aren't going to file a copyright claim cause they would want to people to play video games with their music. What you need to watch out for are copyright trolls who will register a song under themselves, even if it is something old like 'Night on Bald Mountain', and then copyright claim any videos that use that song due to the way UA-cam's mindless AI works. This can happen to literally any song and cause untold amounts of head-ache (there was a migration of content creators who moved to Twitch cause UA-cam failed a lot of people in stopping these copyright trolls).
@@Taruby so you're telling me people don't even gain anything for doing that and are just assholes? Wow that makes so much sense
22:35 You definitely can logic your way through this puzzle without brute force.
You need 3 blue keys to break the "layer", but to get to all the "layered" doors (which are required due to holding cyan keys) you need 1 pink key (2nd row right). But since all the pink keys are behind blue locks, you have to spend one blue key to get one blue key, which only leaves the third row on the left as your starting point. The rest then falls into place quite nicely. No brute force required.
That’s the logic I did use, funny enough. It doesn’t feel special or interesting enough to be differentiated from brute force.
@@Aliensrock That is not how to define/classify brute force solutions. Brute force is not "everything that isn't interesting", it is "trial and error through every option".
@@Aliensrock what doomse said, finding a puzzle uninteresting doesnt immediately make it "brute force". i found interest in it and didnt feel it was brute force-y, its up to a matter of opinion
World 4 is definitely the lowest that this puzzle game goes. Lots of trial-and-error, not a lot of cool puzzle ideas, and overall just sorta sloggy to get through. Can’t fault you for deciding to skip it halfway through, but later worlds do, thankfully, get better. Or, at the very least, they get more mind-numbingly confusing. That’s a good thing, right?
I think it was intentionally contrived nonsense for a gag honestly since it calls itself contrived in one of the levels and the dev commented that they're aware of it being the worst received level
Tyler really said "this is a nightmare" in the puzzle that was called "neopolitan nightmare." I wonder if he noticed
I love the glow added to help follow the plan for which keys are assigned which doors
The editing in this video is amazing. Pretty low key while also providing an easy viewing experience, props to Dan! He did an amazing job with this one.
Low... "key"
I could legit hear in my head that famous sentence on the intro gig:
"The tool BosnianBill and I made"
It's extremely humbling yet INCREDIBLY eye-opening seeing tyler solve the same puzzles 10x faster than I did lol
Warning: Paragraph
I saw the first episode of this and when he said it was free, I got the game myself. this game actually gave me one of the most satisfying puzzle moments I've had in quite a while. I actually got stuck on level 5-a, and just sort of stared at the screen for half an hour. I stopped playing and when I got a midnight snack, the answer just came to me. the best part is it was actually a rather clever solution, and used something I had tested out of curiosity on my own. also, as for level 4-6 specifically, well actually more so all of world 4, the first thing you want to look at is what doors have something on them, and where the keys to make the doors unlockable are (so red for frozen, not like orange for frozen orange door). this makes 4-6 rather obvious in that you have 3 blue keys, and only one path will bring you back up to 3 to ungoop that one door. past that the level just solves itself. if he continues with this game, he should probably do world 4 just to familiarize himself with the mechanics and interactions, like how even a golden can't unlock a frozen/broken/gooped door.
B+
This game is basically a mod of I Wanna Keypick in case you didn’t know, the same sprites and ideas but some music from other games and new levels
I saw the title and was terrified at the thought of a 657 key door

I enjoy the editing style. Makes me wish it was around for that calculator game. That caused some head strain keeping up with Tyler.
Ayyyy! So excited for this new one. Already loving this game and excited to see how they complicate the current concepts and introduce new ones!
The fact you got crimson world relatively easily is insane. This world has some really though not fun puzzles but the rest of the game is really good.
seeing these puzzles that took me upwards of an hour each to figure out each, and then seeing tyler solve them in less than a minute feels really weird
The don’t thaw together edit got a good chuckle out of me
Bro, your brain's ram is amazing, I love puzzle games and I'm not that bad at them, but damn your short term memory is way better then mine will ever be xD
maybe too gimmicky. I like that you're honest and not afraid to just don't do something you don't wanna do.
Im hoping the copyright thing won’t happen to you. This is just very fun series to watch and it would be terrible if it were to happen.
If he made a second episode then he probably found a way to guarantee that he's ok
'the copyright thing'?
@@irishmanfromengland25 some of the songs can get copyright claimed

I know others have said it but the editing on this video really allowed the logic/thought process to shine here. Great work to the editor and great game
Ah yes, the LPL-Tyler crossover we all needed
Ah yes, the balloon popping lawyer.
Tylor, where I live your videos come out at 5am, I've been doing better tbh, and sleeping is something that has been easier, but whenever I'm still awake at 5am, your videos really calm me down. I really want to thank you for the joy your videos bring to me everyday, I read comments like this in the past, but only recently I understand them, be proud of what you do, you are amazing. Keep it going, you are one of the most honest and genuine persons left in this platform, never change and I hope things only get better from here :)

Glad to see this series continue! The World 4 type puzzles are solvable without brute force generally by finding global dependencies (like auras and their required key counts) and working from there, but it's totally understandable that people don't find that very fun. The next world has a deceptively difficult mechanic and I'm curious to see what you think of it!
Year late, but he’s stated that he doesn’t differentiate between logic he doesn’t find fun/satisfying and brute force
Bro said it feels like untangling a massive wad of stuff simultaneously and guessing my brother that is literally lockpicking.
Hilarious how much Tyler hates this game, but the editing is fire as per usual
18:21 that is such a smooth music transition, good job to your editor!
Really appreciate your editing in these videos to highlight areas you're thinking of.
Glad to see a Lockpicking Lawyer clip at the start there, and glad to see more of this game, I really enjoyed watching it.
On a different note, the overworld reminded me of Jill of the Jungle for some reason, a DOS game I played as a kid, so these videos give me a nostalgia fix.
I really like the editing!
Another great video
Lets go, the picking of the locks
I guess the thumbnails will have a trend of doors having colors that don't exist in-game
I'm so happy seeing this
Idk about the puzzles but the bqckground music of that "night world" is so cool man...
It's a song called Moonlight Museum (1st version) from Klonoa 2 if you're interested :)

Hearing Klonoa 2 music really makes me happy

22:39 Nice HK reference
13:38 Judging by the music, someone's a big Klonoa fan :)
Where did you get this game?
I couldn't find it on Steam
the sound that plays when you enter a level is literally the same sound that you hear when you enter a level in baba is you
Lock pickin lawyer can’t beat this
Tyler: Wait, how do I get a pinky?

Oh hey, it's the picking tool BosnianBill and LockPickingLawyer made!
Alternate title: I paid my editor to count 657 keys across 13 levels, 5 bonus maps, and 3 level hubs
😊I can picture that in my mind 😊
Aint no way they making puzzle games with the I wanna be the guy format.
looks like a brain-bender, but a fun video to see.
Fun fact: World 4's soundtrack is from Klonoa 2: Lunatea's Veil. Specifically, the Moonlight Museum
"I have to destroy that pink... Diseased thing" Tyler 2023
I appreciate Tyler's ability to stop playing a certain part of a game when he finds no fun in it rather than forcing himself to complete the whole game and ruining the fun.
Brute force it or unravel the knots, but not both. That usually ends up making it worse.
He got the DangerouslyFunny title
672 keys, but 678 keys if you include the ones above you. I spent an hour on this, but thanks for giving the challenge :)
(hope you see this) Edit: i counted each key that was collectable if it was 0 it still counted as a key to be collected
sorry if there is a misunderstanding and i counted the ones you had in the main menu
Im 99% positive the sound of entering a door is the same sound of entering a level from Baba is You
Follow up in slice and dice!
The keys are the doors and the doors are the keys, i wonder if you resize the key or the door so the door can crack open the key... also these keys give me escapist 2 key vibes
Thankfully I've completed all of the game and I can safely say that world 4 is the only world that players dislike by finding it too difficult and abrupt with the introduction of so many mechanics. Most people don't realise that there is a logic induced way of solving these types of puzzles as well which is really understandable since that is way less obvious to the player than it should be. The Creator or the game and a lot of other people in the comments clarified this already so I don't know why I'm repeating it.
The Klonoa soundtrack in this game … 😍🤩🤧
Does anyone else hear the baba sound effect when tyler enters a new puzzle?
I just realised the door sound effect... was this made by the same developer as Baba is You?

I really love Tyler and his content, but Im just not good enough at puzzle games to solve these, especially not as fast as him. I feel like the only way this would be entertaining is if I either got an extra 15 IQ points from somewhere, or, on the other side of the spectrum was completely zooted beyond belief, so that nothing makes sense anyways
You didn't even do all the main levels in world 4, as you left before doing 4-7. The reason you had 7 levels cleared was because you had already done 4-A.

why is this called lockpicking when you are using keys? you are not picking any locks, you are simply unlocking them
