SigmAlarm Actually as part of the settlement of the suit, Siemens was only permitted to rebrand and sell Wheelock devices. The settlement stands until 2018, but it is unlikely that they would stop rebranding Wheelock products afterwards because as a result of the suit, Siemens's fire alarm manufacturing division was pretty much destroyed. They only make smoke detectors and pull stations along with their line of addressable and one conventional panel now. I believe the last conventional panel they sold was the System 3, but it was recently discontinued and now is sold for parts only. The System 3 was the last long lasting fire alarm panel since the days of the old IBM, Autocall, and Standard Electric Time panels which typically lasted well over 50 years.
It's interesting that they continue to make the ZNS exclusively for Siemens instead of just giving them Exceeders. Maybe Siemens realized how ugly the Exceeder is compared to the NS and ZNS...
Awesome! Definitely sounds like an older Faraday horn that would become the UMMT, which from what I have heard was one of their popular products right before Siemens bought them out.
Y'all think this is loud? This is one of their quieter horns. The MT (high-volume multi-tone) series is about 120% the volume of the MTL, and the MC (tri-tone, which I have) series is about 110% the volume of the MTL.
Originally Faraday and FOS were the ones that owned the alarm along with the UMMT before Siemens and Ceberus Pyrotronics rebranded both of them. Pretty awesome because Simplex, Siemens, and Ceberus Pyrotronics rebranded all of Faraday's, Federal Signal's, and FOS's devices and pull stations.
As someone who lives in Massachusetts, are the SpectrAlert Advances but 99% of new buildings have the L-Series. However when I went to NYC I felt like in buildings that didn’t require Voice-Evac these (rebranded by wheelock) were just as common as the Advances in Massachusetts! Just like how we get the L-Series for new buildings in Massachusetts, they had ZNS’s in NYC.
It sounds exactly like the MC-S75 that's everywhere in the school I go to, except the pause after the 3 strikes are usually a tad longer and since there's no syn module, there's constant flashing in the hallways that has more than one installed.
For some reason this horn strobe just wears me out...I thinks it's because it's a horn and a chime you don't see many of those anymore. (And it makes a great telephone ringer lol)
You can sure tell the difference between high and low volume on Wheelock devices. At the elementary school I went to, some NSes were fine, and others seemed painfully loud.
This is also probably why Siemens was sued by Wheelock, because they pretty closely copied the MT.
True

So what happened to Faraday and simplex when Siemens was Sued by wheelock?
SigmAlarm Autocall is returning
Odd how code 3 horn is lower pitched than it's continuous counterpart

Craig Baker How loud do they compare to the U-MMT? Does the MTL or MT have the same volume as the U-MMT?
an as is worse
0:37 definitely sounds like UK Apollo fire alarms
Sounds like a UMMT
Fire Alarm Technologies I liked the comment
Fire Alarm Technologies same
Fire Alarm Technologies it is practically the same thing
It's because cerburus pyrotronics is a company owned my siemens
i agree with you
I hate the people that dislike these videos
IKRIKRIKR
There's not enough dislikes to complain. And complaining about dislikes encourages people to dislike.
ser i have a question. how do i get the chime tone of this alarm that was on the adt 10ud?

Wasn't the early U-MMT by cerberus?
Andrew yes
Could you change the tones on the notification device itself or does it have to be on a panel?
Both this and the U-MMT were manufactured by Faraday
You ever circuit bent this thing?
This fire alarm was in commerce's cilvic center in Georgia USA
cool alarm!!
Those are sooooo cool! I've wanted one ever since I got my first fire alarm.
In the strobe only part, you misspelled only.
i absolutly love the slow whoop tone
I wonder if Cerberus Pyrotronics/FCI had permission to use the same tones as the Siemens U-MMT.
The siren and slow whoop are LOUD I have a similar one
firealarmsnstuff I liked the comment
s.e.r safey how did it ring like that
That sound just like a UMMT!
alarmtech989 I liked the comment
My apartment has UMHUs and its LoUd
Basically the same thing
They both have same horn circuit
@@pietervanham6223 Not the same thing because UMMT is Multi-Tone, hence MT
No march time?
Have you seen that alarm in some sort of building?
Are you sure this isn't a UMMT?
So cool! Do you know if those are rare or not?
+SigmAlarm Cool! Thanks for the info
2:17 this one is the alarm that they used for WTC building 1 and 2
This was the last sound many heard on that day
Same alarm too?
@@thatvierkid yes had different tone and also had voice telling you to evacuate the building
ua-cam.com/video/KjlTyRBb7JI/v-deo.html here is a vid
@@Lewis-rq3of thx!
Why does that sound like a simplex tru-Alert??
No. Simplex truealerts are more high pitch. You must be getting confused with a siemens UMMT
Is it me or is the strobe cracked?
They sound so similar. Good video!
Alemir Acevedo Rodriguez
I had that same alarm at my elementart schoo on continuous IT WAS SO ANNOYING DURING FIRE DRILL DAYS
Christopher R Hernandez same 👌
Christopher R Hernandez same here until like 5th grade all my schools had them
Christopher R Hernandez right now in middle School of my eight grade year. Now we got spectralert advances in the class rooms
My school has these, but they are rebranded by FOS
These sounds creep me out. Especially the slow whoop because it’s the one I had at my junior high school.. they were unsynchronized
These alarms were in my middle & high schools! We had to get used to them for 7 years they ran on continuous!
sounds like a siemens ummt
How rare are these?
Idk, I’ve never seen them before, but the UMMT is a bit more common
I've seen these at my school
@@kroopjieer12yearsago71 so your school is old
You can hear a poping noise if the STROBE is on ONLY
is it just me or it sounds like the UMMT??
the siren tone sounds like a tornado siren on attack
It really sound like a simens
Awesome! Reminds me of my Wheelock MTWP

the big boi version of the ummt
That chime tone on these things is very ear piercing
Chime sounds like a Siemens ummt
That's a copy of the Siemens UMMT
AnythingKid123 Yeah.. that’s because Siemens owns Pyrotronics
You should buy a bunch of them and put them on ebay
the siren tone sounds like afederal q2b
I likes the hi low

I had one of those in 6th grade
They copied the darn simplex horn but with more holes
I have these alarm in my school

Cont Horn
For some reason this horn strobe just wears me out...I thinks it's because it's a horn and a chime you don't see many of those anymore. (And it makes a great telephone ringer lol)
This is definitely a ripoff of the Siemens U-MMT
Hi-lo
This has the worst chime ever.

I never said I didn't like it. Actually, it's one of my favorite alarms. I just think the chime is hilariously loud.
Even the chimes? lol. Even faraday's dedicated chimes can be loud.
