78 hours in on hard mode and I'm only mid way through chapter 5. I can honestly say its my favorite xenoblade game and is a masterpiece of a game for me. The last time I felt this was FF4
That playtime would shock me normally, but I just crossed the 25 hour mark and am still only in Chapter 3. I feel like the side content in this one is just so satisfying in this one
4:07 Literally same. I lost my best friend of 10+ years last week and Xenoblade 3 has been like warm therapy to me everyday after work. Beat the game last night and sobbed my eyes out twice, it was a great final release of pent up emotions both for the game and the struggles in my life. I love MonoLith Soft and Takahashi is a GENIUS.
Moving up the launch of Xenoblade Chronicles 3 was the best hindsight play made by Nintendo. Easily been a fun time just exploring and getting invested into the side story.
Nah it's not just you OJ, and it's not xeno fanboyism. I've never played a xenoblade game before this, I bought it on a whim launch day and it's a straight up masterpiece. It might be the best rpg on the Switch, a hard won position, and it has beaten out elden ring as GOTY for me.
That's so cool to hear from someone that's new to the series! I too wondered when I felt this strongly about this game if it was just because I've had this broderline addictive relationship with the series ever since 2016, so it's always interesting to hear someone else's reaction to it :) Glad you're enjoying it so much!!
I’ve played every Xenoblade game, and I’ve played Xenogears. I still think Elden ring is my favorite game this year. It’s just the game I’ve always wanted to play and it’s just timeless already with the amount of secrets in it. I’m only on Ch3 rn of 3 so maybe it’ll change later. But it’ll be hard lol
70+ hours for me already. Can't get enough of this. I just love how everything looks in this game. Absolutely fantastic and a must play for any player honestly
@@oracleofhearts4872 Nah, I felt combat in 2 was better due to the elemental blades in conjunction with combos, added more strategy. XBC3 is my first XB so I don’t have a comparison however, this game is near my all time favorite for overall enjoyment. The story is engaging the mechanics are understandable and enjoyable, the rpg elements are deep but logical… I just can’t find any major flaws in this game.
Great to hear this from someone that's new to the series, glad to hear how much you're enjoying it :) Have been in love with the series since 2016 and so ofc I wondered a bit if it was just my bias that made me like it so much :D
Same here this is my first xenoblade game in the franchise and I'm about 45 hours in and I just got to chapter 4 absolutely love xenoblade chronicles 3 can't stop playing it so much fun! 😊
It's been ages since I actually kept playing a game non-stop, it filled up a void I had when it comes to games that I haven't felt since P4G. I was immersed from start to finish and just couldn't stop playing the game. I beat it in 4 days and now I have 126+ hours and I still can't stop playing it. It's hands down become my favorite game on the switch and I played and beat almost all the major switch titles. I had breath of the wild as my fav game, but after finishing this one, I can say that it resonated more with me than any other game I played. I know it comes down to preference in the end, but it's a special game for sure.
Yeah, well stated. I clocked in 400 hours in XBC2 and I thought that was my favorite Xeno monolith title, but now, even after 15 hours, I am just finishing up chapter 2. One of the best first 15 hours in any open world title I have ever played in terms of anticipation and what was to come over the next 40-50+ hours and that is including BOTW 2, XBC 2 and Cyberpunk which I genuinely did enjoy a lot after 3 play throughs. Never had 500 hours put into a game before and this could very well be the first.
The combat tactics are amazing. Usually, with run of the mill 'monsters' or enemies, the standard is good enough to end up making it through to the end of the battle, but sometimes if it is a special boss, or if you end up in a battle of 4 or 5 smaller enemies, tactics comes to the fore about what mix of classes you are set up with or whether to use special abilities if you have them. At 12 hours in, I feel like I'm just starting to make use of the tactics available. AND, it's real-time, so I'm not pulling my hair out waiting on turn based combat. It is very impressive.
60+ hours and I'm in chapter 6. This is my favorite game on the Switch, hands down! The gameplay is hella addicting and the best in the series, but the STORY? Omg the story is on a whole other level. Epic moments, sad moments, just straight up wholesome moments, this game has everything and I love it so much.
Im at chapter 3 right now 32 hours in and doing some side quest and pumping up my classes this is one of the best jrpgs I have ever played in my life definitely putting it on my list of favorites along chronno trigger xenoblade 1 final f 6 ,7 and X grandia 2 skies of arcadia valkyrie profile 1, shadow hearts 2 ,star ocean 3 , trials of mana Megaten 4 apocalypse and Megaten 5 those are my top most favorite jrpgs ever.
At the end of chapter 4 start of 5 and team is currently just over level 50 and omg I’m getting so emotional and can’t stop playing and it’s currently nearly 2am lol the story is just amazing and side quests and omg side hero quests are just mind blowing I love every bit of this game
Three weeks ago I managed to finally get an Xbox Series X at MSRP. I signed up for game pass and was enthralled with the resolution of games and the depth of the library. However, my new brand new Xbox has been collecting dust since XBC 3 released last week. I have not even opened it to watch a movie on Netflix. Nothing beats a good game.
I'm still only in chapter 2 with just over 20 hours of playtime and a big reason for that is the amount of things to do on the map. Despite the story blocking parts of it, the game really tempts you to explore the available area for collectables, soldiers, and the different tiers of monsters. With the class system to experiment, I'm moving the story even slower. I'll have to get much further to give a full take on its world map but it sure is keeping me busy.
The stories also are heartwarming - I'm not even talking about the big story between your characters which is off the scale excellent. The stories that you get when you meet, as you say, the heroes and the other soldiers, many of which don't want to fight - you can see your impact in the factions coming off of their animosity and being ready for peace.
Even if you took the title away, I’d still say it’s one of the best RPG’s ever. I agree on traversal system take, much better and as soon as I got rope sliding I immediately had to go back and retrace my steps to get all those missed locations. Literally took a 10 hour break at the start of chapter 4 to just go back and roam.
I completely agree. It's been a long time since I've had a game where I could sit down and 10-12 hours later just realize that I forgot to eat or sleep (been trying to pay closer attention to that lately, make sure I take breaks). It's just so easy to sink so much time into without realizing and that's the mark of a great game imo.
First xenoblade for me ever, and I'm loving it! I hated the combat system at first....but as I'm progressing I'm actually really starting to enjoy it, there's an info overload with menus and system but I'm winging it so far and doing ok at around 15 hours in lol.
Great video OJ! Also, for anyone interested, Amazon currently has the official soundtracks for XC1, XC2, and XCX on sale for almost half off. Get 'em before they're gone!
i really appreciated your sentiment on how video games have been with you good times and bad, it was beautiful hearing your experience and ive been there as im sure others have as well.
Thanks for talking about your experience with the game so far without spoiling it OJ! I just got my copy in the mail and I'm so excited to start this epic adventure even more now!
55 hours here on normal, I’m midway through chapter 6 and I can truly say for the first time in years that this feels like a generational leap for JRPGs.
This was such a great video! I love how you relate times in your life with video games you played. I’m sure so many of us do. Your excitement of this game and explanation has completely sold me on it!
I’m from the uk & got to play the original xenoblade on wii and was blown away. This has been one of the best JRPG experiences I’ve had. 70hrs in and I can’t put it down.
Hey OJ, I understand you like Xenoblade Chronicles 3 a lot on the Switch, but is it possible for you to make videos other than XBC 3? I mean the videos on your channel for the past 2 weeks are 90% on XBC 3. I am a little tired hearing this game over and over, I think it is time to move on. Not a criticism on your videos, just a suggestion. By the way, you did a great jobs on your videos :)
I've only just now entered the Urion Titan, And the state of the inside is bringing me to tears. How beautiful it was in X2 and what desolation it looks like in X3. But I have to say for the short stretch of world I've explored so far mainly the desert area and some of the starting area I think that X3's world map might actually be the biggest Xeno game ever. That's not to say that xenoblade Chronicles X was small by any state but I think it was just big for the sake of being big because of the fast travel ability of the skells with the flying and Is vehicle modes and all that. In this world not only is it just massive but you can't turn around a corner without there being something you need or some kind of mechanic you have to gain later on to get up there. kind of like in metroid. And I think we're taking me so long is just a massive amount of side and hero quests there are to do. Not to mention exploring trying to find all of the husks to send on. As well as trying to figure out how to get to certain containers .
40hrs in myself and I’m glad to hear I’m not the only one still on Chapter 3 at this point lol. Games just huge and it’s a blast customizing your crew and leaning class skills and arts. I’m definitely addicted and it’s my GOTY so far.
Yeah same here I just got to chapter 4 and haven't continued chapter 4 because sidequests lol they are fun too do and the hero quest are fun to do too I'm about 45 hours in and just got to chapter 4
I was thinking the same thing too - I'm 12 hours in since the weekend, and once I start playing I can't put it down. One thing that I love is that the map isn't defined for you, so there is always mystery.
Wasn't able to get the game when i camme out. Finally picked it up friday. I had watched a playthrough of the first 5 hours so i was able to skip the cutscenes at the beginning. About 20 hours in now and definitely my favorite Xeno game by far.
@@Theb0YWh0lived1 That's not for me to decide, because I can't possibly know his intentions. But I've seen him downplay and ridicule concerns over games like PLA and TS before, namely the lack of trainer battles and the overabundance of dialogue respectively, so him disingenuously hyping things up seems like a pattern.
Botw is possibly my favorite game of all time. This is my first Xenoblade game and I can't put it down. I'm only 21 hours in but if it finishes like it started, could be my number one slot.
i was just thinking about this while playing! the open world is amazing, and its done in a way with the segments to better fit the story. 80 hours in and im only at the beginning of chapter 5. i still find lots of new things in the first 3 areas. side stories with awesome cutscenes are unlocked. i saw some negative reviews that said the story was bad, and im sure those didnt explore enough, as there seem to be a lot of non linear storytelling. and all that praise is not even mentioning the amazing gameplay loop, campsite feature, how side content is nested in the hero quests to make us more invested, etc etc! love this game, maybe my favourite of all time
But why do I have to unlock side quests to get any meaningful content? Things get shown in the main quest, then just get thrown to the side like "Find the conclusion in the side quest". Bizarre. Not even XCX is like that.
Before I knew it I was 45 hours deep 😅. I think the negative for me is character writing is not as strong as in xc1 and xc2. The story is good but the characters feel more like vehicles to explore certain themes rather then being the drivers of the plot. It feels very much like a Gundam Anime. Where typically the characters don't really matter so much as looking at the ills of war and seeing humanity at it's worst. Where as 1 and 2 (especially 2) are more like a Shonen in which the characters and their interactions drive the plot and you grow to be invested in characters. Like rex felt closer to Pyra/Mythra in their base introduction then these kids who can basically read each other's minds. This kind of story telling is not necessarily bad but after playing the other two titles that were the complete opposite it just feels a bit off at times. Like I'm 45 hours in and I still don't feel the same attachment I had to characters and the other two games given how they chose to write the story. I appreciate the more serious tone but just wish I loved the characters more.
you are good for a nice ride then, believe me the character of the 1 and 2 don't hold a candle about the one in the 3, the character developement is insane later. no spoil, but some of the character that wasn't my favorite did grow on me and even npc can become really interesting. i'm over 80 hours now and didn't get all the quest done, but some of the secondary quest and such understand better the character and how they evolve. but you will be see ^^.
Since release date i've played 62 hours, starting chapter 4, level 60, so yeah. So far is my favorite and the heroes sidequests feel like a true awakening of the characters more than just a crystal awakening like XC2. Goty material definitely.
Your thoughts are very close to mine. I think in terms of open world games BoTW still holds the edge because of the traversal, climbing and gliding as well as the crafting/cooking and use of resources. But in terms of story, it certainly makes up for it!
This game will defnitely be the most time I’ve put into any game since BOTW. This game is fantastic and I keep losing myself for hours exploring the world and mastering different classes. And the combat is SO satisfying
Really enjoying XBC3 so far, but I'm not far enough in yet to say whether I like it more than 2. The one thing I can say for sure that is better so far is the main character. I think Noah is the best Xeno main character so far, period, going back to Xenogears.
The side content for this game is pleasent and I usually start ignoring it due to ADHD in other JRPGs. But Xeno 3s been pushing the right buttons Only on chapter 4 and 40 hours in.
I'm 70 hours in and I totally agree with you. I feel the same way. I haven't enjoyed a game so much since Breath of the Wild. Xenoblade 1 & 2 are great, I love both, but Xenoblade 3 is a step up. It's special.
Having played it for 40+ hours it's my least favorite of the three, but that's more of a testament to the other two. Definitely a better game than the others from a technical standpoint, but the story and OST was a bit stronger in the other two games. Of course I might change my mind about the story before the game is done.
idk yet about the story but so far i prefer the ost of the other 2 cause my fav ost in 3 so far is the fallen arm remix which obviously is just a remix of the xc1 theme
I don’t think you can compare based on stories til the end of the game. Considering things ramp up big time in every XC game and usually have it’s strongest moments at the end. I think XC1 had an extremely strong and well paced story, but the combat in 3 instantly puts it above 1 right away regardless of story.
@@lambiepie6436 ... idk if im the only one who thinks this but im in chapter 6 of xc3 rn and i still prefer the combat of xc1 overall obviously i prefer the CUSTOMISATION of 3 but so far still the mechanics of 1s combat and by extension x cause it was similar in a lot of principles
71+ hours in and it's still giving good vibes since the beginning of the game. Xenoblade Chronicles 3 feeling way more engaging imo unlike 1&2. Where I would have fun but at the same time left me feeling burnt out where I'd drop the game and play something else, then come back to it. Xenoblade Chronicles 3 doesn't give me that feeling at all and that's a great thing!
This is in no way to say XC3 is bad by any means, but if we are being sticklers for definition, can we really call XC3 a true Open World Game? There are loading areas between regions so it definitely isn't seamless. Yes, the regions are connected to each other in the world, but there are clear loading screen sections when you pass from one region to the other. Whether or not you call it an Open World Game or not, it doesn't change the fact that exploration is super fun and the world itself is incredibly interesting.
No, we can't. People are saying the story is better in XC3, when it's obviously told in a linear manner. Heck, characters will point out to you that you need to go somewhere or do something when you just want to explore a little. If we say open world means seamless with as little gated by levels or bosses or story, then XC3 isn't that.
Am I missing something cuz I thought this was open zoned like XC2 since you still have to load between sections. Don’t they have to remove the loading between those sections to be open world?
I guess the definition of open world changes depending on the narrative one wants to push or something. Plenty of people argued that PLA was not open world, because it's sectioned off, but now XC3 is?
@@NuiYabuko that’s what I’m saying. I’m loving XC3 but it’s definitely not open world. Xenoblade X was closer to an open world than this. Hopefully we get sequel to that next
@@gamekiller64 XCX's definitely closer. Have a short linear section in the beginning, then go and do what you want. There might be places you can't go to, because the enemies are higher leveled, but you can always try and manoeuvre around them.
As much as I love the other two games and still think the aspect of world design is a bit superior in 1 and 2 with their rather condensed, but very intricately designed areas, Xenoblade 3 just hits the right spots for me. It's very rare that I've ever cried because of any medium's story, and this game made me do so several times already. I love literally every character as well as their chemistry among themselves, the way the story is told absolutely hits the mark (even though the plot itself seems just a bit predictable at ~60 hours in), the synchronization is nearly without flaw in my opinion and the music sure didn't disappoint either, having some of my favourite tracks in all of gaming. Can't wait to see what else it has to offe.
Xenoblade is amazing the tutorials help so much and I am able to understand the gameplay combat system and just keep getting drawn into the story. It kinda relates to me being a soldier in the army I love this game!!!
PlayerEssence, just as a friendly suggestion for your next video, I was thinking that you could state your thoughts and prediction as to between Xenoblade Chronicles 3 & Lego Star Wars: Skywalker Saga, which game ought to receive the GOTY title for 2022--assuming the polls were to come down to those two games that were released this year!
even on normal, some of the boss, even if you are overleveled, you can lose against elite monsters. so yeah... this game makes you understand its gameplay.
40+ hours in the game for me, my only grip is at certain boss fights and cutscenes my game constantly crashes and it sucks so much >_< for me this game has my favourite QOL and tied for combat to XB2 but XB2 and XB1DE stories are hitting way harder for me and i love the characters more, this game is FUN but im just about in chapter 5 and the story isnt hitting it but the gameplay is addicting.
I think 3 will definitely be my favourite of the trilogy once I'm done. The story has been really hitting hard and I feel it's a lot more mature than the other games. Definitely my favourite bunch of characters in the series too. My only big gripe is that I'm not a big fan of the chain attack system. It's good but I think XC2's was a lot more fun.
The chain attack system was a big letdown for me too but it really grew on me later when I started to understand it better and you get the ouroboros orders. Still don't enjoy it as much as 2's but it's really good in it's own way
@@SensDen I agree. It's not that 3's chain attack system is bad. It's still great. It's more that 2's is probably one of the most satisfying battle mechanics I've ever seen in a JRPG, so it's hard to top it xD
@@SensDen Exactly! It felt so good to just absolutely melt superbosses with a fully stacked chain attack. I do kinda like how in 3 you have to put a bit more thought into getting big damage numbers. Either that or my team is horribly optimised 😅
@@mancjedi XC2 focused on a long build up for a massive explosion of damage. 3 you get more chain attacks and build up the damage as you keep going. 3's chain attacks are more in depth when you're doing them but it simplifies the actual battle which I don't really like. The boss fights have often been me just trying to stay alive to use a chain attack to do half the bosses health and then do it again to overkill them. Satisfying in it's own way but I do like that 2 really made you work for the massive damage in the battle itself. My party is also horribly optimized. Gotta max out every class on every character even though it's pointless lol
Between being a full time employee and a full time dad, I don't get nearly the amount of time to play that I wish I could. I want to binge this game so badly but I won't be able to do that.
35h in and I've been enjoying it a lot! I think story wise XC1 is still my favourite (XC2 I didn't like at all) but game play wise this one is for sure better.
I’m at the 30 hour mark and so far I gotta say I’m not enjoying it as much as XB2. 3 exceeds 2 in many ways but I liked the characters, tone, and story a bit more in 2. I honestly don’t see it exceeding 2 at this point. The serious tone is not my jam.
XC3 has a lot of QoL, though it's odd that they didn't add the quest marker from XC2, and I really like how expressive they made the wildlife, but the plot was disappointing.
Hi I’ve yet to ever play a Xeno blade game and this one really has caught my attention but now I’m wondering if I should start from the first one and work my way up. At the same time I just really wanna play 3 already because it looks the most interesting to me. What do you guys think? Does it matter?
This game is soo fun to play The most fun xenoblade by far imo I’m at chapter 4 or 5 and I can’t say the story is necessarily better than 2 soo far,the villains are goofy and we still know very little about them But I like the main cast of characters and it’s entertaining enough for me to want to come back I’m just hoping the villains become more interesting soon But I’m still really curious to see what’s up with the story and am loving the game
The villains don't become any better. You could argue that two who don't look like the rest are better, but I thought that especially the golden one was kind of forgettable. The more interesting ones are parts of side quests, which seems to be a running theme with this game.
Man, i am on a dilema with this game because i don't have much time to play. One one side i want to advance on the story i want to know what the hell happen with the worlds of xeno 1 and 2 and if shulk and rex are still alive and on the othe hand i want to get every hero and maximize everyone before finishing the game. Currently i am on chapter 4 on lvl 61 with 55 hours
Xenoblade 1-3 aren't open world to begin with because it is composed of individuals areas. The only true open world game in the Franchise is Xenoblade X.
XC3 isn’t open world. It’s world is just like XC1 and XC2, just bigger. Big sandbox to explore but it has invisible walls set up by story progression or you get blocked off by high level enemies that you can only sneak around for so long. Field actions that you won’t get until you reach a point in the story. A real open world allows you to go wherever whenever you want.
@@terriermonisgod no, open world is defined as a non-linear that allows the player to approach environments or objectives freely. Xenoblade doesn’t allow this. It’s a game with a big sandbox. As I said, the only difference between XC1, XC2, and XC3 is that XC3 is bigger. The exploration is fundamentally the same.
People seriously need to quit complaining about how Xenoblade doesn't look as good as it would on a PS5 or Xbox Series. They need to judge the game based on the platform it is on, and it looks good for a Switch game. Also, it wouldn't have nearly the amount of gameplay it has if focused heavily on graphics. But, the big thing people are not understanding is that the Switch isn't holding back the graphics as much as Nintendo's assistance on all 1st party games being 16gb or under in size. That limits the quantity and quality of textures that can be included. That is also the reason why Xenoblade Chronicles X isn't getting a port, because it did take 30gb of space on the WiiU, and they would have to drastically lower texture resolution, or just flat out remove textures, in order to get it to half it's size.
The biggest challenge to port X to the switch is the way how the gameplay was designed for the Wii U GamePad. The switch is capable with that type of game in a better way but the controls are in the way.
@@therealjaystone2344 no, that isn’t a challenge as you could play X without the game pad by using a pro controller. They had that figured out then. It truly comes down to cost, as they have mentioned in previous interviews, and that cost is associated with a 32gb cart.
Hmm... I'm in Chapter 4 and I don't think that this should qualify as an Open World. It's pretty linear on-rails experience where you are clearly guided along a single path to progress the main story.
I don't even own a switch at all and honestly video games have gotten very stale to me to the point where I've kind of bored with them I just sold my PS5 because honestly there's nothing on it that looks interesting to me besides the Wolverine game whenever the hell that comes out but the Xenoblade Chronicles 3 and Xenoblade Chronicles the game franchise in general is amazing and blows away anything on any other console in my opinion I have played previous entries of the franchise but this one particularly looks outstanding.
Not even close. You could climb everywhere & go to every single place in the background in BOTW. XC3 def has the best gameplay & story though. I'm did not see those plot twists & turns coming during the end of chapter 5 * intro to Chapter 6. I thought it was going to be some lame deus ex machina or time paradox. It makes the desperation scenes from XC1 & 2 look like a joke because it looked like the XC3 crew REDACTED. I edited out some spoilers because I really want people to go in XC3 blind. The plot twists in this game are insane. Even by Xeno standards.
I personally think Breath of the wild open world is super overrated. For one its empty and when you do find enemies its the same enemy types just different colors or sizes. Nothing special. I think Xenoblade Chronicles 3 open world is 10x better.
@@iortizjunior It's not open world. Not too long ago people argued that PLA was not open world, because it's segmented, yet XC3 is the same and it's open world? It's not.

Not as far as I want to be because of work but man! I’m loving this game. Do those sidequests kids! You won’t regret it!
This is probably the most I've been addicted to a game like this for a while, it's definitely gonna be a long journey but I'm hear for it
60+ hours and I'm in chapter 6.
Ashera's is especially heartwarming. lol
Thanks for keeping the hype up, OJ! I'm finishing up the 3rd path of Three Hopes before I dive in and I'm so close! I couldn't be more excited
It's a long content packed game so the combat fully unlocks at around 25 hours and that's where it gets really good and tactical
I'm 40+ hours in and still in chapter 3. It's such a good game
I've had more fun with xb3 than with elden ring
I was just thinking this yesterday, Im 35 hours in now and I kept thinking "How does this keep getting BETTER"
Are you smoking crack? At 9:50 you say Xenoblade 2 doesn’t count cause it’s not a true open world game… neither is Xenoblade 3.
Hyping up games through disingenuous arguments seems to be his shtick.
@@NuiYabuko see that’s what I’m wondering… does he know what he is saying is false? Or does he believe what he is saying?
@@Theb0YWh0lived1 That's not for me to decide, because I can't possibly know his intentions. But I've seen him downplay and ridicule concerns over games like PLA and TS before, namely the lack of trainer battles and the overabundance of dialogue respectively, so him disingenuously hyping things up seems like a pattern.
In my grind to try to get to where I could do the Smash combo. I discovered what the burst combo accidentally. Now it’s my favorite.
Yeah xenoblade games usually get better and better as you play them. I'm glad this one's not the exception.
95 hours in. Chapter 5. And the just gets bigger and better with every single moment
The biggest similarity I think is the open world but also a similar color pallet between XC3 and BOTW
I completely agree. I'm almost 50 hours in and I'm only at chapter 4 because I'm spending SO much time just exploring.
But Xeno 3s been pushing the right buttons
Only on chapter 4 and 40 hours in.
The title screen theme for sure not as powerful as 1 and 2. I like it, but the other 2 had such strong themes
I don’t think you can compare based on stories til the end of the game. Considering things ramp up big time in every XC game and usually have it’s strongest moments at the end.
I think XC1 had an extremely strong and well paced story, but the combat in 3 instantly puts it above 1 right away regardless of story.
@@lambiepie6436 ... idk if im the only one who thinks this but im in chapter 6 of xc3 rn and i still prefer the combat of xc1 overall
obviously i prefer the CUSTOMISATION of 3 but so far still the mechanics of 1s combat and by extension x cause it was similar in a lot of principles
@@lambiepie6436 XC3's got weaker as it went on, at least in my opinion.
I love Xeno 2 I adore 1 but I think 3 is better than both of them. Is not perfect but I have the fun of my time! ❤️
71+ hours in and it's still giving good vibes since the beginning of the game. Xenoblade Chronicles 3 feeling way more engaging imo unlike 1&2. Where I would have fun but at the same time left me feeling burnt out where I'd drop the game and play something else, then come back to it.
Xenoblade Chronicles 3 doesn't give me that feeling at all and that's a great thing!
when X2 comes out, I really hope they keep the Skells and maybe improve on it
This is in no way to say XC3 is bad by any means, but if we are being sticklers for definition, can we really call XC3 a true Open World Game?
Ethel is the new waifu!
Could be just me but I like this game way more than breath of the wild tbh
Same
Xenoblade is amazing the tutorials help so much and I am able to understand the gameplay combat system and just keep getting drawn into the story.
Loved hearing about your experience with BotW and your life experiences during that time. Glad to hear you’re doing well now bro
40 hours in on chapter 5 and it is definitely top 3 jrpgs for me already
Does this game have those awakened blade intro hello scenes?
No. Blades aren't a thing in this game. You can find so-called Heroes though.
@@NuiYabuko dang. That's the whole reason I liked it. I think I'll skip this one 😔
Xenoblade Chronicles 3 is not “open world” because there are zone transitions. Still a solid game. Can’t put it down!
even on normal, some of the boss, even if you are overleveled, you can lose against elite monsters. so yeah... this game makes you understand its gameplay.
Which version of the switch are you using? Im about 35 hours in and havent crashed a single time. Using the OLED
I totally agree with What OJ said about the feels he gets with xbc3 and botw
@@mancjedi The full burst was so incredibly satisfying
People with lives avoid playing RPGs because it requires a lot of time.
@@therealjaystone2344 they are my favorite kind of game though. Although I do have a busy life, so they end up lasting me a very long time
35h in and I've been enjoying it a lot!
Got to 100 hours last night. Haven't been this into a game since Neo TWEWY
Hi I’ve yet to ever play a Xeno blade game and this one really has caught my attention but now I’m wondering if I should start from the first one and work my way up. At the same time I just really wanna play 3 already because it looks the most interesting to me. What do you guys think? Does it matter?
The dev says you don’t have to start 1 to know the lore, unless you want to dig deeper in the stories
Just play this one. You can always go back and play the others later.
I would love to play this game for the story but I cannot get behind that combat system. If they had a demo, maybe, but not my thing.
I love the boxing analogy...
Monolith is the little guy who can knock someone out, who's twice their size
Hit the nail on the head matey :]
Do I need to play any of the xenoblade chronicles games to play #3?
No, you don't. You might not pick up on some things, but they're quite neglectable overall, like some Easter eggs.
This game is soo fun to play
The most fun xenoblade by far imo
I’m at chapter 4 or 5 and I can’t say the story is necessarily better than 2 soo far,the villains are goofy and we still know very little about them
But I like the main cast of characters and it’s entertaining enough for me to want to come back
I’m just hoping the villains become more interesting soon
But I’m still really curious to see what’s up with the story and am loving the game
The villains don't become any better. You could argue that two who don't look like the rest are better, but I thought that especially the golden one was kind of forgettable.
The more interesting ones are parts of side quests, which seems to be a running theme with this game.
I agree there's so much to see and do it's easy to get lost good thing there a navigation feature to help meb
I wish Game Freak got Monolithsoft to help out with Pokemon, they way Nintendo got them to help with BotW.
You actually don't.
@@NuiYabuko Okay
Man, i am on a dilema with this game because i don't have much time to play. Currently i am on chapter 4 on lvl 61 with 55 hours
Xenoblade 1-3 aren't open world to begin with because it is composed of individuals areas. The only true open world game in the Franchise is Xenoblade X.
I've only got like two hours in so far and ya it's good... I have a few days off coming up so I'll be spending more time with it.
He said I got fired and this isht helped me out ! This N is real ! Good review
You don’t get these feelings much these day w video games! Wish there were towns but the story doesn’t let that happen
do you need to play the other 2 to play this 1
No.
A real open world allows you to go wherever whenever you want.
its as open as it can be with a linear story
@@terriermonisgod no, open world is defined as a non-linear that allows the player to approach environments or objectives freely. Xenoblade doesn’t allow this. It’s a game with a big sandbox. As I said, the only difference between XC1, XC2, and XC3 is that XC3 is bigger. The exploration is fundamentally the same.
@@terriermonisgod Then it's not open world. Linear story basically goes completely against what open world entails.
@@andrewclear8905 the switch cartridge can go up to 64gb max of storage
@@therealjaystone2344 yes, but Nintendo owns Monolith Soft and Nintendo will not allow their first party titles to exceed 16gb.

LETS GO OJ XENO 3 IS GREAT THIS IS MY ELDEN RING THIS GENERATION!
Xenoblade 3 is brilliant.
It’s definitely the best open world since botw. Xc2 was more detailed tho but not as massive
With pc, you can emulate switch games
Not even close. You could climb everywhere & go to every single place in the background in BOTW. XC3 def has the best gameplay & story though. I'm did not see those plot twists & turns coming during the end of chapter 5 * intro to Chapter 6. I thought it was going to be some lame deus ex machina or time paradox. It makes the desperation scenes from XC1 & 2 look like a joke because it looked like the XC3 crew REDACTED. I edited out some spoilers because I really want people to go in XC3 blind. The plot twists in this game are insane. Even by Xeno standards.
This Game is Not open world Xenoblade X for WiiU was
I personally think Breath of the wild open world is super overrated. For one its empty and when you do find enemies its the same enemy types just different colors or sizes. Nothing special. I think Xenoblade Chronicles 3 open world is 10x better.
And the enemies at BOTW are stronger when you venture deeper
The game itself is overrated
XC3 isn't open world to begin with. Two different games with different focus.
@@NuiYabuko XC3 is classified as a JRPG Open World game. It is open world.
@@iortizjunior It's not open world. Not too long ago people argued that PLA was not open world, because it's segmented, yet XC3 is the same and it's open world?
