@oliVee_22 As a fan of the whole series, trust me when I say do yourself a favor and play Echoes SoV. It has the best characters, art, music and writing in the franchise.
I would love to play Genealogy of the Holy War's story for the first time but with modernized mechanics. Keep the serious war tone, but continue developing the series' mechanics. Engage had phenomenal gameplay, despite the dorky story.
I'd like them to balance it away from horse emblem. Maybe give foot units the ability to climb cliffs (which would require some map redesign, but I don't think it would be too significant)
As long as they keep the limited weapons and lack of (easy) trading, and the separate funds. These are not archaic mechanics, they are deliberate design decisions that all serve to bolster the main gimmick of the game and i will not have new fans ruin that and turn this into a generic modern FE
i feel like a lot of people are forgetting that echoes release on 3ds literally around the same time the switch got released it's not impossible they make a fe game for just switch and not the switch predessesor
@ilavain yeah but if you compare awakening/fates/echoes with 3houses/engage/possible fe4 remake it lines up pretty well for the big popular game early in consoles life gets released then more controversial and lesser selling game releases midway through then for a remake to be release at the end of the consoles life to happen again. History often repeats itself and nintendo often makes weird and experimental decisions
Honestly, I just wish they would port or remaster the Telius games for the Switch. They are my favorite games in the series and Ike is super popular, so I think his games would sell well.
@@Zanther11987nah it could happen, a remaster isn't as demanding as the remakes FE puts out and Nintendo does seem to enjoy remastered ports to release. Tellius and the 3DS games are both easy shoe-ins for the port treatment we've been seeing for other Nintendo series like Metroid, Kirby, DK , Luigi's mansion 2 and Xenoblade. FE is one of the few Nintendo franchises that hasn't gotten in on the trend yet
@@joaocbcneto I suppose that's true. It makes me more sad to think about than a remake, though, cause everyone seems to be running out of original ideas on all forms of media. At least remakes have the possibility of being a totally different gameplay/ character support. Anyway, I suppose all things considered, PoR doesn't really need a full remake, just maybe tweaks to laguz mechanics (I like an improvement on RD laguz even) and the rest of it was quite well done.
@@Zanther11987 Well I wouldn't really count that against Nintendo on it. Ports and remasters just seem like an easy way to get something out in between big releases which makes sense considering how much time games take to make nowadays and FE's still one of the ones that take less time.
Jugdral games are my favorite. FE4 is already phenomenal but with cutscene, voices, modern supports, updated graphics, the return of some 3H mechanics (battalions?!), more personalized units (skills, Holy Blood = crests passives), and some slight changes to make it a bit more convenient to play (fixing money, removing the Arena, updating skills) it would be such a banger
@ 3H is my favorite after FE5 and FE4 so yeah, that tracks. They are similar and there are “holy war” vibes in 3H for sure, except the themes of good vs evil are much more complex than in FE4
@@therealjaystone2344 I know. The remake has been completed so they're onto another project now. It’s been done for 3-4 years now so the next game should be on the way.
We might also get another Fire Emblem Warriors game. It's hard to believe that Three Houses is already 5 years old and Engage is going to be 2 years old this coming year.
Still honestly disappointed that Engage never got any more updates, not even a New Game+ mode. The game is so fun too but there's only so much you can do and I'm not one of those people who have the time to start everything from scratch again on a new game.
Honestly, as much as some complain about Engage, it can't be denied that that game was technically beautiful (especially in the cinematics which were some of the best of any Nintendo exclusive), so I hope that the FE4 remake has a graphic quality as high or even higher if it comes out on the Switch's successor.
Engage is beautiful I honestly have no complaints about the game aside from not being able to make connections with people as much as the other games and it being hard to level up your lower level characters with a lower difficulty skirmish
Engage has some good qualities but I just couldn’t get into the engage rings. They just felt weird. They made some units feel like superheroes while others lagged behind. Between 3H and engage it feels like they keep adding more complexity for the sake of making it more complex. And as a result they keep deviating further and further from the original design.
What UI changes were good in Engage? Like, it's very close to 3DS FE, which was near perfect btw, but with some baffling adjustments. For example, in Engage, if we want to check the Weapon Might (important for effective damage), we have to check it in the item or trade menu, that's cumbersome. Whereas before, the game made it easy to check it along Attack and the offensive stats. It was on 3H, 3DS, DS as far back as... Idk, FE3... In fact, FE3 was even better, it showed effective damage too... They never bring back that... Also, they removed the auto cursor toggle, that's annoying.
I started playing fire emblem with awakening like many and played every fire emblem games that came out after that. Engage was my favorite, yes the characters and story was not good but the maps, the mechanics and the core gameplay was fantastic, and thank god we were done with the light dating sim stuff. The animation were the best the series ever had in 3D, the gameplay is heading in a very good direction. Even though it is too dependent on pre planned build in my opinion.
@@Chronal-Rend and it was done competently enough in my opinion, but awakening is my limit, fates and three houses are just... Well it take too much of a central aspect you know ? I wouldn't mind the characters getting their relationship evolved on the battlefield in fact I think it's really cool, but don't make me do the tea party or the face rubbing with the stylus for the love of god
@@Chronal-Rend This is a fair point, it wasn't much of a problem for me back when I was playing fates, BUT I played three houses on Lunatic and I wanted to have every advantages I could squeeze out for my battles. The School was not bad, it felt like playing fire emblem persona which was honestly really cool, but it came to the cost of recycling maps which is a shame. Obviously I like the more straight forward direction of Engage, But I would really want a game that also push what three houses was to it's full potential. I would honestly have zero complain if we were going a Metroid/ Metroid prime way with Fire emblem. Like having two parallel game series that have different game design philosophy
I'm slowly but surely playing through Genealogy at the moment (emphasis on slowly because my misunderstanding of save states has led to at least 4 resets within 2 weeks). I really enjoy the insanely large maps and ability to deploy everyone each map, as well as all the secrets and tidbits the game doesn't tell you about at all. My greatest wish is that these things remain the same, and the only major mechanical balancing is to the weapon triangle Given how large the maps are I suppose a rewind system is more necessary here than in any other remake but I'd be interested in seeing how they could revamp the system to not mass benefit the player. Something like an entire round reset as opposed to individual player resets, which would force you to think about whether the round was bad enough to reset entirely versus charging ahead with one less unit
I wouldn't mind awakening but i couldn't finish engage.. combat was alright but I didn't feel much for any if the characters like three houses. So im hopeful they make one like that in someway.
I have to agree the combat was ok. Alot of people who defend it claim its gameplay is peak but I personally find some of its balance issues overshadow that for me. Like even tho it's not as bad as 3 houses with unit and class balance it's still turned into flier emblem.
I think the characters (and everything about the game) LOOKS better than everything else (i think diamant is the best looking one at all) but there isn’t very much stuff about them like in other games

I own seven Fire Emblem games going to my Gameboy Advance. I was debating on buying the New switch console - but if a new Fire Emblem game comes out for it - that will push me to want the new machine.
Honestly what I think might happen is they release Remakes the both of FE4 and FE5 back to back. They did this with FE11 and FE12 being remakes FE1 and FE3 It makes sense when you think about the games happen at the same time with a couple of characters being in both games. I feel like they are waiting for a time that can release these one after another after to keep things inline. FE6&7 are pairs and FE9 and 10 are also pairs that came out together.
I do have one concern about Genealogy though. If it ends up being a launch title, I feel it may give people a weird first impression of the Japan-only games. Specifically the incest. I also don't know how that could really end up released here without being censored or rated M.
It was also pretty well written in that he was already in an intimate relationship before even he found out about his sibling. It's obviously not an excuse, but it does have some understanding behind his actions.
@trusivraj7777 fire emblem is not new to adult themes, even in modern. If they can do suicide, tragic death and murder I'm sure incest is fine to imply. Kids won't understand til they're older
@@trusivraj7777 It’s so refreshing to see someone who understood the text of FE4. I have encountered an absurd amount of people who attribute the knowledge possessed by and actions of Manfroy to Arvis instead. They forget that he also did not consent to engaging in relations with his sibling, and instead act like he knowingly did so
i won’t lie i was kinda stunned to see engage when i did because i didn’t even know a new game was being released and found out about it 2 months later
The best would be both games remade into a single one as originally intended, but that would need some serious work so we wouldn't see it released soon
While I would be greatly fine with a remake of Sigurd's game, what I really want for Fire Emblem is a return to both Roy's and Ike's worlds because I think both have a bit of something missing.
It either FE4 or Path of Radiance remake. Fire Emblem Heroes has had 2 big years of FE4 Promos and Path of Radiance promos one of the two. No idea which of the 2
I emulated the original and loved it. I think every FE fan should have the opportunity to play this game. It’s one of the best in the series, even with its outdated mechanics. I think a modern version will easily make it the best entry in the series.
Imagine FE4 but you can choose at a certain point to choose a path that follows FE5 events, or that one Eldigan substory Kaga wanted to tell? Far fetched i know but it could put three houses players back in their comfort zone
What would put me and other 3H fans in our comfort zone depends on which of us you ask: Extreme customisation and other replay value perks, and / or a strong story with great characters. I get the impression a faithful FE4 remake can't and shouldn't bring the former but would likely bring the latter, good news for me and others invested in 3H's overall storytelling quality, not so much for those wanting another sandboxy FE.
Thankfully, even thought the middling sales, fire emblem seems to be a series that just wont die, got a little rocky around awakening but after that, its basically their second pokemon
fe4 is outright my fav fe, I rly would adore seeing a boujee remake with modernized elements. I hope they don't neuter too much of the story with censoring and localization, some elements as dark as they may be are integral to the actual story progress and characters' motivations and actions. plus I wanna nuke H*lda with Tine/Arthur in 32k ultra HD lol

Fire Emblem Echoes: Shadows of Valentia, the remake of Fire Emblem Gaiden, was released for the 3DS in the spring of 2017, right after the Switch launch. I would not be surprised if the remake of Genealogy of the Holy Wars was released on the current Nintendo Switch next year.
i feel like nintendo is going about console marketing all wrong. The switch was never about its power, if you want power you get a ps5 or xbox. We don't need a switch 2, what we need is more games. think about it, the more games they keep making for the switch, the more relevant it remains. Heck i'd still be buying games on the 3DS if they kept making games for it
We need a damn real Warriors game with a real legacy roster across all main titles. I want to play as Ike, Hector, Dimitri, Marth, Sigurd, Alm, Roy, Seliph and others in a Musou.
Honestly kind of wish they would have a way you could send your data for awakening, fates and shadows to the switch. That way you can put them on their, access your old data/saves and nee commers could buy the dlc they missed. Wouls make everyone happy
I'm ready for a new main FE game bro, I'm starved haha... That said, I'm a little scared by what bs mechanics they might put in it. If anyone's ever played FEH then you what I mean 😅

I actually saw all hate on engage and delayed it for soo long until recently, I regret it since I loved 3 houses but engage is the best fire emblem game ever it’s so freaking good!
@AkaiOtinashi oh I did not know that. Thank you! I think it was the 3 houses cinematic that I really liked. I need to play at least one of these games because they all look pretty good.
@@issaciams If you like the look of the game and you like getting engrossed in the story totally go for Three Houses. Engage has better gameplay mechanics if you prefer that but personally Three Houses is my favorite because of the story and characters. Just throwing that out there.
what I'm really hoping to see is the remake being a reimagining of fe4, since I feel like the maps themselves are a huge weak point, while the story is great, but also releasing a translation of the original at the same time
nah the maps are fine, it's the best part of the game. just by having modern quality of life changes it will be amazing. just being able to skip enemy phase would make this so much better. FE4's maps are like having 4 chapters in one, i'm sure they will add open world areas and lot of cool stuff to do inbetween battles. every castle you visit would be like going to a new monastery with new things, shops, new arena, new characters etc. it's easy for them to expand this and still keep it faithful like echoes
@@thefreshvince879 my main problem is that a most of the maps are just an open field with no real obstacles to make interacting with enemies interesting. I love how large the maps are, but there just needs to be more in them
My first fire emblem game was Sacred stones. Serious story, branching paths with ephriam and Erika, yes a couple juvenile characters , no dating/child sim bs. No create a character, u r not inserting urself as main person but just along for the story being told. I miss that in fire emblem. Stop trying to persona fire emblem.
The irony being that Three Houses, the FE game most often compared to Persona, ticks a lot of the 'good' boxes you highlighted. Juvenile characters consistently handled well? Check. Significant branching paths? Check. No character creator? It has one but it's so barebones next to Awakening and Fates it hardly counts, partial check. No dating sim? Excluding optional easy-to-avoid 'teatimes' and Byleth's S-support, the system is mercifully absent, partial check. No child sim? Gone entirely, check. No player insert protagonist? Uuuh... Okay, I'm not even going to try to defend this one, I'll take Shez over Byleth any day...! Serious story? Check beyond any shadow of a doubt and THEN some! Conclusion: More Persona in Fire Emblem (the out-of-place dating systems aside) might actually be a good thing?
That rumoured "other" FE game from Koei Tecmo is most likely a new Warriors game. Would be great to see a Warriors spin on the Engage formula, imo, or even Three Hopes 2 maybe?
I really really want the older games to be remastered and released on the switch or ported to steam i dont mind either option. My first FE game was 3 Houses and I am playing Engage rn and while it's fun idk who any of these characters are except for like the ones on super smash so I can't have any emotional reaction/attachment to these rings but it did make me curious to learn more about these characters.
Unless you're some sort of critic, and you're just playing Fire Emblem Engage as a fan of the Fire Emblem series at normal difficulty, and you're not going out of your way to write a review for it but just playing it for enjoyment, yes Fire Emblem Engage was a fun game.
im pretty sure the FE4 remake has been done for a while as welll, but it's delayed bc of engage and to put it on the new system unless they pull an echoes and release it right when the new console releases (echoes came out may 2017 and switch dropped march 2017)
The masses aren't ready for the dark plot points of FE4 if they end up ruining the story by censoring it they're just better off skipping judgral and going straight to binding blade.
Maybe you could do it story-wise, but it would require a lot of surgery. Thracia happens between part of Ch 7 in FE4 and overlaps entirely with Ch 8. You also have a different enemy, different stakes/themes, and so on. Gameplay wise, the systems are super different. Classes, stat caps, skills, weapon kill counts, capturing, movement…FE4 is a huge scale game and FE5 is much more zoomed in. So you’d end up with a butchering of both games, I fear.
FE4 has always been a strange entry for me, cause the thing everyone hyped up, the story, was just kinda fine; good; 6.5/10. Primarily cause it was from yee olden times when units where less characters and more pieces you are more likely than not gonna lose. And if I don’t care for the characters, I end up not caring about the story they are in. What really boils my Lopster is the game play. It make RD enemy phases seem like a tiktok vid in comparison. Combine with the fact everyone in that blighted land is a germaphobe who refuse to trade without a multi step process make me hope they aren’t as faithful with this remake as they where with echoes.
I just kind of hope if they make a new stand alone title, they focus on fleshing the characters out a bit more then just, this person is quirky and it is their whole personality. I knew it cant be helped some of the times as it does make some characters stand out but I had an issue with engage. I honestly only remember a handful of characters from that game by name meanwhile I generally remember all of PoR and RD characters and that's about the same sized roster if not a bit bigger since it's a game and it's sequel.
I'll believe it when I see it. IS track record hasn't been too stellar recently. Until I see a trailer or play it from beginning to end, I will withhold judgment... Unless the trailer is REALLY bad, then I'll probably burn my house down.
Hopefully they get it this year but doubt it since they haven’t shown anything. Long as it has actual supports and paired endings unlike Engage. which like they have to because FE4 is all about the two gens. Never give me a fire emblem game without paired endings like that again. I was so mad Rosie & Louis couldn’t have their happily ever after 😑 anyway I would love that because I am sooo interested in FE4 from the walkthroughs I’ve watched
Considering how lackluster the story in Engage was I 100% prefer a remake of an already established good story. Not interested if they mess around with the plot by censoring and “modernizing” the story/dialog.
I think when looking at core fire emblem releases we shouldnt really be looking at the warriors games because theyre made by a completely different studios and it seems to just muddy the water! Having said that i tiink we are lookign at 26/27 for the next core mainline game
Honestly I don't really want a fire emblem 4 remake. I really didn't care for the game when I tried it with an English patch. But it would be a good release for the fans that want it which I assume is most of them.
I really need the next FE game, Engage didn't bring any of the hype that Three Houses did. Or even Fate & Awakening for that matter. A Genealogy Remake would be great, I've never played it before and really want to because of all the good things I've heard about it. The rumors have been going on for so long about FE4's remake that I probably could have played the OG at this point. But tbh I'm not interested in playing the older titles unless they get remade. Watching people play them is a blast though. It's just that they're hard to come by or were never released in North America
I hope they don’t change the story too much. Plus I’d prefer to be M rated… Only that way they’d do the scenes justice. FE4 is my favorite Fire Emblem game ever
@@CryBabiey Maybe not all of it, but Three Houses was pretty frigging dark and THAT game managed to avoid the M rating. If all the dark stuff in 3H's main story and supports can get a pass, including someone slowly and agonisingly getting their HEART ripped out of their chest on-screen, then surely the overwhelming majority of FE4 can return unchanged and unfiltered?
@@finaldusk1821 I’m mostly scared of them taking out the Battle of Belhalla, specifically what happened to Sigurd there. It was terrifying and scary back then, and it should be the same later. I don’t think it can be done well unless children are denied access to it
I just really really hope they go back to the 3 houses magic system. Maybe it's an unpopular opinion idk. But I always disliked the magic system of the other games. 3 Houses got rid of that problem for me personally
I wish FE would get back to serious writing that was present in the series pre-awakening. It just feels like every game post Awakening has got dumber and dumber, the stories increasingly inane and childish, the characters more unlikeable and tropey.
Weird when you think about it. Awakening was the series that made the series popular & continue to do so. Yet people don't like the direction the series was going at now.
3 Houses was pretty serious with pondering the ethics of the leaders and the war and that no one is supposed to be for one true “good ending” However I have many complaints with how Crimson Flower and Silver Snow seemed rushed? Crimson Flower being disastrously short and Silver Snow doesn’t even have a lord stepping up despite Petra, Ferdinand or Seteth could rise to the occasion. For who is the closest to being the lord Seteth his convictions are barely explained or focused on just kinda going with the flow being forced to lead
@@ghostlyhedgehog2683 3 Houses had some serious themes, but serious writing, no. In Fire Emblem 7 for example, the Thief side character Matthew has an entire story line about his SO being a spy along with him. She's killed in duty, and part of his arc is struggling with the fact that her killer becomes their ally. In Fire Emblem Awakening the Thief's arc is "I like candy! OMG CANDY!" Fire Emblem Three Houses is largely a high school academy drama with some smattering of fantasy thrown in, and while characters have arcs attempting to be serious, the overarching tone of the story isn't that serious because most of what the characters talk about is completely frivolous buillshit. That being said FE3H is a great game; it's a lot more serious than Awakening and Fates combined but the writing is still pretty juvenile on the whole vs the GBA era FE's. The characters are just a big collection of the most generic tropes imaginable in Japanese-story telling now.
@@jaretco6423 100%. Awakening saved the series but it also opened the floodgate to turning Fire Emblem into a dating simulator with exceptionally juvenile writing. The GBA games had (6, 7 and 8) had significantly more serious tones, the characters were all WAY more serious, so when there was moments of levity it really felt like a "breather" from the intensity of what else was happening. Whereas 3H it's the other way around: the serious moments are basically a break from all the silly, stupid dialogue where the writing largely seems to hinge on the fact that everyone needs to worship you and it's more important to make the player feel loved than it is to make the story better (I think the entire Avatar system they introduced in Awakening was a big blow to the series, too.) Before you were there to advise. Be a masterful tactician, a mysterious battlefield genius who said little. The stories were the characters story, now the story is a vehicle for the player to be THE-MOST-IMPORTANT-MAN-OF-ALL-TIME where everyone is falling over themselves trying to bang you and worship you. You are the fulcrum upon which the narrative hinges now, which wasn't the case in the other games. Hell, you were just along for the ride. And to be fair, the reason the series needed saving to begin with was because of the Gamecube. After the GBA games they transitioned to making the Gamecube titles. Frankly, I think FE is better suited to handheld, on-the-go play, and to top it off the Gamecube was a massive commercial failure for Nintendo (it did even worse than the N64 which was also an enormous commercial failure for them).
Fan-service wasn’t even the problem, as I didn’t see much of that. The problem was also not just one thing, it was multiple. 1. Too anime like. Yes the other fire emblem games do have an anime style look, but engage took the cake by going too far with that look. 2. Conversations were beyond cringe. A wannabe perfectionist who’s too cocky to deal with, a guy who cries almost anytime, another guy forcing woke nonsense into this game during a war, and a coward of a leader with toothpaste colors for hair. I can keep going with this one but I’ll stop here. 3. Story was boring and bland. Felt rushed and never was into it for the storytelling. 4. Accuracy is complete BS. I have missed in the 80’s and 90’s percent range more times than in any other fire emblem game, while enemies have hit me at terrible accuracy more times than I can remember. I can miss at 89% but still get hit at 21%. This game had the right idea with the emblem rings, the amazing strategy set with abilities and what the emblems offer, but it’s the only thing that keeps me from calling this game a failure. I hope the next new fire emblem game isn’t as cringe and bad as engage is.

The roster together looks like a bunch of circus clowns. Hub area; sadly a thing that is there to stay, but it just kinda rubs me wrong that ressources are put into doing push ups rather than other systems that could make the core game better. it was the same with the god-damn monestary in 3 houses, it just fills too much for my liking, but thats just me. Balancing, characters could very easily fall off and end up being of very little use. 1-2 bad level ups and it felt like you were dragging dead weight and had to switch them out for a new character. avatar, i dont like avatar characters, they are never good, except Robin, Robin had the benefit of not being Main character and just be a sideline fly on the wall with ocational chime ins. please no more avatars. what i did like though, UI was a major step up looked really slick and easy to navigate, hope they keep it that way for future installements. maps. they improved maps a lot over SOV and 3H, those two games had really attrocious maps. you could tell the ones in engage actually had some thought put into them for the most part. Voice acting. Really great cast to bring the characters alive, they did a great job. Animations and Music. just *chefs kiss* beautiful and pleasesant all around. overall i found Engage. Fine-ish. But quite a slog at the same time.
To me, I think fire Emblem should be divided in two separate series. They should make Classic games like Fire Emblem Engage and the gba title, and make another series that lean more into the three Houses/Persona like waifu stuff. The second series might not even be a tactical I don't know, but it's clearly popular, I'm not saying it's bad that people like that, I just think it doesn't particularly mix well with the TRPG elements that I love about fire emblem. They should still try to make good stories and characters for the mainline. But maybe it's just time for Nintendo to have a new IP maybe? I'm sure they can make something great out of it
One of FE 4's strengths is its dark storyline. I really hope they don't try too hard to "fix" or "update" it.

@ JRPGs these days are handholding us when marketing for children. Look at dragon quest HD2D.
Play the original game. It is one of the most beginner friendly in the series
i feel like a lot of people are forgetting that echoes release on 3ds literally around the same time the switch got released it's not impossible they make a fe game for just switch and not the switch predessesor
I hope they won't, it's definitely the primary reason for it selling so poorly
@ilavain yeah but if you compare awakening/fates/echoes with 3houses/engage/possible fe4 remake it lines up pretty well for the big popular game early in consoles life gets released then more controversial and lesser selling game releases midway through then for a remake to be release at the end of the consoles life to happen again. History often repeats itself and nintendo often makes weird and experimental decisions
@oliVee_22 yeaaa. Let's hope that the xenoblade x remake doesn't get trapped on the switch like the OG did on wii u lol
@@ilavain I'm pretty sure the new console is going to be backwards compatible, so Xeno X will definitely be playable on at least one more console.
@Octodolphin let's hope so!
I hope they take their time with this game like the CEO stated.
Honestly, I just wish they would port or remaster the Telius games for the Switch. They are my favorite games in the series and Ike is super popular, so I think his games would sell well.
@@devinreed21 you're like 5 games out of that happenning. Maybe less if they combine a few like Thracian/genealogy and blazing and binding blade.
I agree and I even think his world should get a third game.
3 houses is a love letter to FE4. thats why its the most loved game in the series like fe4 in japan
@ 3H is my favorite after FE5 and FE4 so yeah, that tracks. They are similar and there are “holy war” vibes in 3H for sure, except the themes of good vs evil are much more complex than in FE4
If Genealogy has been sat on for years now - what’s coming after it? The game after Genealogy has to be just about finished too
Not how development works
@@therealjaystone2344 … what do you mean? That’s exactly how development works.
@ when finishing a game, one move on to the next. However, the remake is not their next project.
I thought that didn't sell well?
@@AllHailShadow916 shipped 1 million copies =/= sold 1 million copies
Still honestly disappointed that Engage never got any more updates, not even a New Game+ mode. The game is so fun too but there's only so much you can do and I'm not one of those people who have the time to start everything from scratch again on a new game.
Id love to see this and i HOPE some day we get a remake for Sacred Stones, as that was the game that got me into the series
@@Agent_Apostle this so much
Would love this and some visual improvement on Path of Radiance/Radiant Dawn. Or even a port.
The older FE were alittle more serious however characters in those games got next to no dialogue at all once they were revealed.
😂 I started with Awakening, and I love the pairing units and child creation😂
@@Chronal-Rend and it was done competently enough in my opinion, but awakening is my limit, fates and three houses are just...
Well it take too much of a central aspect you know ?
I wouldn't mind the characters getting their relationship evolved on the battlefield in fact I think it's really cool, but don't make me do the tea party or the face rubbing with the stylus for the love of god
@@valygomu I mean the tea parties and adjacent mechanics were always completely optional lol.
I’m fine with whenever they release the next fire emblem game whether it a new one or the rumor remake
My greatest wish is that these things remain the same, and the only major mechanical balancing is to the weapon triangle
Given how large the maps are I suppose a rewind system is more necessary here than in any other remake but I'd be interested in seeing how they could revamp the system to not mass benefit the player. Something like an entire round reset as opposed to individual player resets, which would force you to think about whether the round was bad enough to reset entirely versus charging ahead with one less unit
I've been hoping for a Fire Emblem fighting game for a few years now. Really hope they're planning one!!!
Just make it like Three Houses please
If we have a port for all of 3ds FE I don't mind paying 500 bucks for it since all of em are God tier
don't curse our wallet bro 🤣
All really all? Awakening is legendary, but the rest are fine to poor showing no thanks. I would rather the ds, radient, and gba games.
Yeah Engage was really bad character wise
I think the characters (and everything about the game) LOOKS better than everything else (i think diamant is the best looking one at all) but there isn’t very much stuff about them like in other games
@@IronManJA right its what i dislike... i in my opinion... would rather get to see real scenes between the characters in the story and between each other

I own seven Fire Emblem games going to my Gameboy Advance. I was debating on buying the New switch console - but if a new Fire Emblem game comes out for it - that will push me to want the new machine.
the rumor of fe4 remake has been a thing since echoes tbh. still would love it tho
genealogy confirmed since
Honestly what I think might happen is they release Remakes the both of FE4 and FE5 back to back. They did this with FE11 and FE12 being remakes FE1 and FE3
It makes sense when you think about the games happen at the same time with a couple of characters being in both games.
I also don't know how that could really end up released here without being censored or rated M.
kids dont understand the consequences of incest, its ok just dont use the word incest bc the game doesnt
Kids won't understand til they're older
i really do hope this will be fire emblem’s first M-rated game if it means retaining its original themes and avoiding censorship
@@trusivraj7777 It’s so refreshing to see someone who understood the text of FE4. I have encountered an absurd amount of people who attribute the knowledge possessed by and actions of Manfroy to Arvis instead. With the way Nintendo had been treating fire emblem recently I think a fire emblem as a switch 2 launch title is highly likely.
i won’t lie i was kinda stunned to see engage when i did because i didn’t even know a new game was being released and found out about it 2 months later
I just want PoR and RD ported to the switch or switch 2. QoL additions would be awesome but I’d take straight ports too

Highly doubt PoRR will be the one
FE9 is lovely, but I want to play Genealogy with modern quality of life
it would be finanically smarter to release it as a digital download if this game does well
I emulated the original and loved it. I think every FE fan should have the opportunity to play this game. It’s one of the best in the series, even with its outdated mechanics. I think a modern version will easily make it the best entry in the series.
beat it with a super famicom pad or you didnt get the real expierence
Imagine FE4 but you can choose at a certain point to choose a path that follows FE5 events, or that one Eldigan substory Kaga wanted to tell? Far fetched i know but it could put three houses players back in their comfort zone
What would put me and other 3H fans in our comfort zone depends on which of us you ask:
Extreme customisation and other replay value perks, and / or a strong story with great characters.
I get the impression a faithful FE4 remake can't and shouldn't bring the former but would likely bring the latter, good news for me and others invested in 3H's overall storytelling quality, not so much for those wanting another sandboxy FE.
It's hard to believe that in 4 days, Fire Emblem Engage would already have been out for 2 years.

Frankly, I would be more excited for a Blazing Sword remake with the possibility of our avatar romancing Lyndis.
Heck i'd still be buying games on the 3DS if they kept making games for it
I just know I'm excited because Fire Emblem Engage has shown us that they'll be giving us something that's more technically well-polished!
I hope they make a new Fire emblem GBA
We need a damn real Warriors game with a real legacy roster across all main titles. I want to play as Ike, Hector, Dimitri, Marth, Sigurd, Alm, Roy, Seliph and others in a Musou.
I wish Alm was playable in the FE Warriors game

Nintendo will probably announce it in the next direct we have known about this game for like 2-3 year now
what I'm really hoping to see is the remake being a reimagining of fe4, since I feel like the maps themselves are a huge weak point, while the story is great, but also releasing a translation of the original at the same time
nah the maps are fine, it's the best part of the game. just by having modern quality of life changes it will be amazing. just being able to skip enemy phase would make this so much better.
I love how large the maps are, but there just needs to be more in them
My first fire emblem game was
Sacred stones. Serious story, branching paths with ephriam and Erika, yes a couple juvenile characters , no dating/child sim bs. No create a character, u r not inserting urself as main person but just along for the story being told. I miss that in fire emblem. Stop trying to persona fire emblem.
The avatars are never inserted persons to begin with lol
3h is dead there will be no more 3h games we are moved on past that
The next warriors game is definitely Hyrule
FE Warriors bombed
I think about new game is more likely considering how much development Genelogy would need.
Will they do Thracia as part of the FE4 remake?
I'm so sick of remakes man... I just want something fresh and funky like awakening or fates...
I really want to play this on my 50 inch TV the only way I can play Genealogy of the Holy War right now is a fan translation on my 3DS XL
I know this probably isn't gonna happen...but what if they combined FE4 and FE5 stories into one remake?
Maybe you could do it story-wise, but it would require a lot of surgery.
Thracia happens between part of Ch 7 in FE4 and overlaps entirely with Ch 8. You also have a different enemy, different stakes/themes, and so on.
Gameplay wise, the systems are super different. Classes, stat caps, skills, weapon kill counts, capturing, movement…FE4 is a huge scale game and FE5 is much more zoomed in. So you’d end up with a butchering of both games, I fear.
Hey I was just thinking about this last night. Good timing.
Everyone really likes to criticize fe4 for how slow it felt but radiant dawn and path of radiance is arguably worse.
@@Bike-chan enemy skip phase would do wonders

If the next big new mainline FE game is in 2027 that means IS spent close to 10 years fumbling around making a new mainline game.
Been waiting for FE4 ever since Engage failed to impress me
So glad they are taking years to perfect this game, engage felt so unrefined…
I really need the next FE game, Engage didn't bring any of the hype that Three Houses did. Or even Fate & Awakening for that matter. A Genealogy Remake would be great, I've never played it before and really want to because of all the good things I've heard about it. The rumors have been going on for so long about FE4's remake that I probably could have played the OG at this point. But tbh I'm not interested in playing the older titles unless they get remade. Watching people play them is a blast though. It's just that they're hard to come by or were never released in North America
Just get a 3DS modded and you can play every older fe title, nes, snes, gba. Only exceptions are PoR and RD but eh
TIL that I completely missed fire emblem engage. WOW. Sweet, instant new FE game with another coming soon, boy am I happy .)
I don’t even care what it is - I’m so tired of waiting. I’ve played every English FE to death. I need the next FE game bad.
I hope they don’t change the story too much. Plus I’d prefer to be M rated… Only that way they’d do the scenes justice. FE4 is my favorite Fire Emblem game ever
M rated is the deathbed to marketing. You want to sell games to children for higher numbers.
@ but do you think they’d be able to keep it kid friendly with the insane stuff that happen in the story? Child sacrifices? Incest?
I dunno about 3H though. Tropey characters for sure, but the story was pretty intense.
Whereas 3H it's the other way around: the serious moments are basically a break from all the silly, stupid dialogue where the writing largely seems to hinge on the fact that everyone needs to worship you and it's more important to make the player feel loved than it is to make the story better (I think the entire Avatar system they introduced in Awakening was a big blow to the series, too.)
Before you were there to advise.
If they touch fe4 there going to screw it up look what happened to to the support system and world in engage
MORE RUMORS AND LEAK WOAHHH
While we at it please let me play path of radiance and radiant dawn on switch 😑
Very interesting stuff!
I just wanted the next fire emblem game to be about a main character is a race of humanoids that can change into their animal forms called Animoids
Engage was such a disapointment, too much fan service, no substance
Story was terrible but the actually gameplay was really great imo
I hope the next new fire emblem game isn’t as cringe and bad as engage is.
the worst FE game ever than Fates

Can awakening have a reboot into Switch 2? better graphics and mechanics?
Plz Fates mechanics but awakening story. That would be amazing!
You people have played 2 FEs lol. Try at least one of the old ones jesus
@@-lord1754 I am a little offended at that. I've played every game, but they were specifically talking about awakening, which was well refined in fates. My personal favorite is probably Thracian, but those aren't the mechanics we were talking about.
@@Zanther11987 Ok then it wasnt aimed at you. People are talking about remaking Awakening despite their being a million games before that should get it.
@@-lord1754finally someone said it.
my gripes with engage was of course, story; it was just really bland and a snorefest for the most part.
character designs, i have no idea what in the world they were doing but i can count on one hand the characters i personally did not think look ridiculous.
Fine-ish.
But quite a slog at the same time.
one could hop that the english translation is actually what the jp says. like engage the translation was terrible and clearly censoring
