Halloween 3 is my favorite sequel of them all. It's really too bad it wasn't successful. Would have loved the planned Halloween anthology movies. As always, your tastes are as flawless as you look.
Oh my gosh, what a lovely sentiment. Thank you. ❤️ And I totally agree! Whata wicked concept with H3. I really think if the second film hadn’t included Michael Myers it could have worked. But having two movies with the same character cemented it as a series.
H3 isn't really a sequel at all, the movie should never have had the "3" in it, a simple secondary title could have allowed Carpenter to continue his anthology

That’s an excellent list!! ❤️ And I agree with Pumpkinhead wholeheartedly. It didn’t make the list because technically not Halloween, but it is most definitely one of my favorite horror movies ever. The backstory, and design on that creature is just epic.
I always watch 1978 Halloween first of October. And also see the Thriller music video. It's a old fashioned tradition🎃🔥
Kudos for including Neon Maniacs. Must watch for October would have to include 31, Smile 2, Yellow Brick Road and Hallows End.
Hahaha Thank you! I get that it’s not for everyone, but oh my gosh I find it amazing!!!
Hey Crystal, Jose from Grue Crew...finally got to your channel. I've been deep in my horror watch since the 1st of September...I got some ideas from your list I need to check out. Cheers!
Jose!! I knew it was you from the other comments and user name. Hahaha te most recent comments pop up first. Thank you so very very much for checking out the channel! You love horror and consume the content, probably as much as me. Hahaha I love that so much.
Once Bitten is always a great way to start the season. Such a classic! Great list Crystal. Happy spooky season! 🎃
LEE!! Thank you so much for watching and commenting!! And seriously, isn’t Once Bitten amazing! Seems like it doesn’t get as much love as it should. I remember as a kid thinking how perfect Lauren Hutton was. Hahaha
@@GothicCottage Me too. I used to watch it constantly when it first came to HBO. The opening at the drive-in is hilarious.
I remember when I used to be on insta-lame, I did 31 movies in October too. I love what your doing 🤟🏽🎃
Thank you! I decided to not take one of their inspiration lists. I think an overall theme is more fun for me. But I do like doing them, because it really does force me to sit down and do something a little spooky each day. I get caught up in everything else otherwise.
Hey Crystal! Nice list! I enjoy alot of stephen king 80's films around this time. Silver Bullet, Graveyard shift..ect. werewolves are probably my favorite spooky time monster!! Love your videos !
Thank you Jim! It’s always so awesome to see your comments! ❤️ Stephen King totally had a huge moment then. I even like Sleepwalkers. I know, don’t judge. Hahaha I need to do my favorite werewolf films. That’ll probably be in a few months when the Halloween Horror season is gone.
I really enjoyed Hellfest! As for other movies, I'd like to put forward the original The Crow with Brandon Lee. And although it's a cartoon, Scooby Doo and the Witch's Ghost has a great Halloween vibe.
So, I had The Crow on the list and then at the last minute I switched it. I honestly don’t know why I did. It’s such a gorgeous gothic classic. Honestly, I’ll probably watch it anyway. Hahaha
Big fan of The Barn. It just oozes Halloween spirit. The sequel is also very good
So, I have not seen the sequel. But since you clearly have exceptional taste, I’ll make it a priority. I bet I’ll really enjoy it.
Woo - you’ve got some super deep cuts on this list, Crystal (Idle Hands, Ghostwatch, Neon Maniacs). I suppose we can forgive you for not mentioning HellHouse LLC? 😜 Haunt is still a super underrated pick for anytime of the year. You’re going to do a clip on all your Halloween decorations soon, right?? Love your channel!
Hahaha To know Neon Maniacs is to love it. And I did consider Hell House, but I need to rewatch it again and didn’t have the time. If I haven’t seen it within the last two years I usually rewatch to make sure that I still feel the same way about it before adding it. Tastes change and such. Yes! I will definitely do my Halloween decor.
Awesome list! I absolutely LOVE Halloween lll Season of the Witch! It's my 2nd favorite of the franchise! I've always thought it was so criminally underrated! And I just adore Tom Atkins! 💖
Great list. I will definitely check out the ones I’ve never seen. We watch scary movies all month long ending with Halloween (the original). I haven’t seen Terrifier, not sure my husband will like if it’s too gory. I never understood Donnie Darko. 😂 Maybe I need to rewatch it.
❤️ Thank you! Most are streaming probably for free somewhere. Just watch is where I go to find out.
And No don’t do that to your hubby! The gore is just insane and over the top. Definitely not for everyone! It gets more ridiculous and has a kind of grindhouse feel in the second, which is the superior film IMHO. You can get spoilers out there because I watched the first one even before it came out to review it and I was 😳.
My list!

2. Sleepy Hollow

29: Halloween (2018)

Hopefully this Halloween I will be going as Thorn, who is a part of the Hex Girls in Scooby-Doo. And I'm a new subscriber! Happy Halloween 🎃
Good list the one film that makes my list every year is Dream Warriors has to be on it
Yes! Oh my god, my favorite of the series for sure!
LOVED this video and this list, thank you for this !! :D my fiancee and i have a mash up of Halloween movies we watch every year, our rules are pretty similar to yours, they have to take place near/around or on Halloween and we do have a small honorable mentions section that makes our rotation as well, the list is a mix of some old school, family friendly, comedy, horror, etc etc including first the ones we own physically : The Addams Family (1991. the ending scene takes place on Halloween so technically we count it due to the vibe of the whole movie + that ending scene ), Fun Size,Goosebumps 2: Haunted Halloween, Halloween 2 (Rob Zombie) , Halloween Town 1-4,,Hocus Pocus, Idle Hands, It's the Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown, Sleepy Hollow, Terrifier 2,The Crow,The Monster Squad, Trick or Treat, Trick r' Treat.
Next the ones we stream : Ginger Snaps , Halloween (1978) , Halloween The Curse of Michael Myers,Halloween H20: 20 Years Later ,Halloween: Resurrection,High Spirits, Hubi Halloween, Once Bitten,Satan's Little Helper, Scary Stories To Tell In The Dark,Spirit Halloween: The Movie, R.L. Stine's Zombie Town,Terrifier, The Exorcist ,Totally Killer
Finally our honorable mentions, the ones that aren't Halloween related, but help get us in the Halloween mood : Abbott and Costello Meet Dr. Jeckyll And Mr. Hyde, Abbott and Costello Meet Frankenstein, Abbott and Costello Meet The Invisible Man, Abbott and Costello Meet the Mummy, Creature from the Black Lagoon (1954), Beetlejuice, Dracula (1931) , Elvira's Haunted Hills, Elvira: Mistress of the Dark (1988) , Frankenstein (1931) ,and Fright Night
i know not all of these are traditional horror movies, but we like to try and have a little bit of everything (as much as we can anyways). thank you for listing & sorry for the long rambles, i hope this was at least a little bit helpful for somebody
I started my spooky season in August, usually its September cause my bday is in the first week, im trying to catch up on films that i own that i have not seen or haven't seen i a long time while also checking out movies on streaming
Great pic’s Halloween 111 season of the witch is sooooo good grew up with it as well
Yes! I love it so much. I’m really glad that it’s getting the love it deserves now. Just such an insane story. Hahaha
What a fantastic list, filled with some excellent traditional and non-traditional choices! I was in high school when Trick or Treat came out, and my friends and I, being the metalheads that we were(I still am I suppose) couldn’t get enough of it. There are a couple on here that I haven’t seen, but I definitely want to check them out. Happy Spooky Season!
You should watch All Hallow's Eve, the first Art the Clown movie
Awesome video yay
Thank you so much!
Just stumbled upon your channel but I’m already a fan. Liked and subscribed!
Yeah! That’s Awesome! Thank you so much! I hope you enjoy my channel!
@@GothicCottage I got some binging to do 😂
Hello! My name is Bronson Wright-Wolfe. I just recently came across your channel here on UA-cam. I just watched this video for the first time and you picked a lot of great choices to watch during spooky month. I would like to share with you my choices to watch during spooky month. I'm going to put these in no particular order. I can watch these any day or night during the month of October. I don't have exactly 31 choices, but here are my top 10 favorite horror movies and Halloween themed horror movies to watch to get in to the Halloween spirit. I also have three honorable mentions to share with you as well
10. The Little Vampire (2000)
9. The Haunted Mansion (2003)
8. The Frighteners (1996)
7. Trick or Treats (1982)
6. Trick or Treat (1986)
5. Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street (2007)
4. Casper (1995)
3. Hocus Pocus (1993)
2. Sleepy Hollow (1999)
1. Beetlejuice (1988)
Honorable Mentions
3. Scooby-Doo and the Witch's Ghost (1999)
2. Scooby-Doo on Zombie Island (1998)
1. Monster House (2006)
Hellfest and Haunt do an AMAZING job at making you feel that you´re part of the Haunted Fair.
My plans tend to be watching a horror movie each night (at least), with some nights including a Universal Monster´s movie and, at Halloween, do a marathon of a franchise...or, at the very least, try to watch both IT movies.
Crystal, you should do a review on ALL the AMITYVILLE movies. Please!
That’s such an excellent way to describe those films. Totally agree and that’s probably why I enjoy them so much.
Oh my gosh, you want to subject me to all those Amnityville movies?!? 😳 hahaha I’m down. But I haven’t seen many. I can assume you right now that the original will probably be the #1 though.
@@GothicCottage Yes please do the reviews on all Amityville movies. They´re going to give you a KRAMPUS´s movies flashback. ;)
...besides, can they be worse than the Children of Corn movies? O_o
And I bet you´d be the only horror fan that would have done so.
And you better start soon. There are just 46!!! And a couple of them are titled IN SPACE and KAREN.
...just thinking of another video like the Krampus one makes me laugh so hard. In fact, I´m probably responsible for half the views of that video. You were sooo fun there.
So sad that protagonist of Freddy´s Revenge appears on of them.
..I´d argue the Remake is the best.
PS
I said I try watching both IT movies because, for whattever reason, I never can. Yet, if I try doing a marathon of SAW or NIGHTMARE while not able to finish at least I get far enough. I know. Doesn´t make sense.
Highly recommend flesh eater - Halloween vibe , so good
Oh, I love Sleepy Hollow... It's a gorgeous film. I also love the book; it takes me back to the autumn of 2001 when we read it in school as a class.
Thank you for the recommendations! I am so grateful that I have recently discovered your channel! Your setting and personality make me smile so much. Enjoy your spooky season! 🎃🎃🎃🎃🎃🎃🎃🎃🎃💜❤️💜❤️💜❤️💜❤️
Thank you so much for the lovely and beautiful comment! It really is so gorgeous. Now that you mention it, I should re-read the book. While I know that it doesn’t mention Halloween, I can’t help but picture it without that imagery all over it. I really hope you enjoy the channel and thank you again for checking it out! 🎃🎃🦇🦇🩸🩸💚
@@GothicCottage Thank you! You're so kind and such a special soul. I love your channel. I recently discovered it, and I've been enjoying it. My favourite one is the review for Lisa Frankenstein. I saw it at the cinema back in February, and it brought me to tears because I did some of the same things when I was a teenager. As for Sleepy Hollow, you are totally right that it's implied. The story is very engrained in Hallowe'en culture. I'm definitely watching it this October, as well as the cartoon version, and maybe the other version from a few decades ago. Thanks, again!
🎃🎃🎃🦇❤️🪦❤️🦇🎃🎃🎃
You should be the next Elvira host scary movies
Your hair and makeup look fantastic
Love the list! 🎃🎃🎃
Awesome! Thank you. This was actually harder to make than I anticipated!
Great recs! Definitely added some of these to my watch list.🎃
That’s awesome! I hope you enjoy. I know everyone has different tastes, but you never know if you like it, until you try it. Hahaha I know almost, if not all, are streaming now.
@@GothicCottage yesss, I was checking where they were streaming as I was watching and so happy to see they’re on platforms that I have! Happy spooky season!!
Donnie darko is my fave movie of all time
I love your list
Thank you! I really thought pretty long about what I wanted to include. There’s actually some amazing Halloween-themed movies out there.
I love Neon Maniacs
Love your shirt
👩🏻🦰😍
Hahaha thank you. Redheads are amazing!
