another thing i love about granpires is that the granpa only became a vampire so his grandkids and daughter would not have to see him die which adds level depth to a vampire story that rarely gets touched on the reason why someone would become one in the first place and its the reason its my fav that and Christopher loidd is king
I disagree that there are not many stories that touch on 'why'. There is actually an entire subgenre of vampire fiction that focuses specifically on this. They aren't horror, but more existential about life and love and eternity. It's actually one of the oldest gothic novel tropes dating back to the mid 1800's. The blood thirsty monster we know today are not at all the characters that appeared in the novels that inspired them. Those novels were FAR more character and internally focused. Very few bloody or scary scenes. The horror comes from the characters struggle with their life and who they are and why or how they became that way. This episode is actually just going back to the very first recorded (to our knowledge) horror novels of the late 1700 and early 1800.

I am so glad Scarecrow was number one, growing up in a small town myself, it scared me, but it also felt, surreal, that the end will one day come, and you can't stop it,and in a way, it was very peaceful learning that at a young age, also the antagonist was very well done and I loved the performance of him and all the cast of the episode, almost like art, in a sense
Scarecrow actually had 2 endings, the one you showed, and the one where the brother burns the scarecrow, revealing he's the only person left on earth. When it premiered it was shown twice with both endings, and then people voted on which one was better.
The Red Dress at 60 is criminally underrated. That was one of my favorite episodes when I was younger. It gave me nightmares and afraid that if I went to sleep I'd wake up blind. Idk or maybe I just had some underlying fear of going blind
I just wished it leaned into the whole 50's movie vibe a little bit more Also, aren't you the guy who always requested the My Robot episode on @Kingnusmi 's channel? It's an honor to have you in my comment section
Kinda surprised you said in Pumpkin Heads that all three died? In the sequel episode, it's confirmed Dave survived and went to the police. And that in the sequel The farmer probably got arrested and sent to jail on Man Slaughter Charges.
Good memories. The Mascot and pumpkinhead episodes I found myself revisiting sometimes, even after the show ended. I didn’t remember much of anything from the last season, but this show and goosebumps will always hold a special place in my childhood. Good video
omg great to see all the episodes all in one video ❤️ i love rankings but i just mean that there are so many episodes that a lot of them are neglected / not really covered on youtube just because of the sheer amount of episodes. An hour+ long video covering ALL the episodes is EXACTLY what is needed 😭❤ this must have taken years to prepare for and edit so ty for putting the work in ⭐️🙏✨
This definitely shows how different people see actors from others of different ages, lol. You point out a couple actors that were in those Diary of a Wimpy Kids movies but not freaking Michael Ironside, lol. I was surprised as hell when he showed up in that The Most Evil Sorcerer ep. Granted I've never seen this show before, but you don't tend to see actors of his caliber/fame in these types of TV shows. I guess his acting primetime is/was long over though, maybe. He was still Sam Fisher at least from when this show originally aired though. Oh wow, is that also Christopher Lloyd in that Grampires ep? Guess it was 2010, and TV shows were starting to get bigger actors in them, some TV shows are more or less just like movies nowadays.
I do like how the "afraid of clowns" episode doesn't go for the "monster clown". The only character who does seem scary is 5hw ringleader clown, but only because they purposefully keep him in shadowed lighting and he speaks with a Krusty the Clown voice
I was terrified of the kid turning to a doll one. I couldn’t even finished the episode when I was 6. They do the transition and foreboding really well. And especially as a person who used to lie a lot. And when you finally tell the truth it’s ignored. It hit me on a personal level on a rewatch
Haunting Hour deserves so much love for how it stepped up with the horror. My top favorite episodes was Dreamcatcher, Flight, Pumpkinhead and Scarecrow. Flight and Scarecrow had stuck with me for years with the existential horror. 😭
1:13:20 there's another part to the ending where the man on the tv is trying to tell the kid that the monster/alien is trying to trick him, leaving whether or not there actually is an alien unknown, idk if it was an alternate ending, as that's the only one I've seen.
“really you” still messes with me to this day and i’ve realized it’s the “uncanny valley” feeling . that doll looked real but not real and that’s what terrified me
I loved this show, but I only was interested in it for 5 months where I only saw the first 2 seasons. I remember the ice cream truck scaring me, the big yellow thingy scaring me, the pumpkins scaring me, one where they swap faces, the one where it’s Santa scares me, one with a mask that tells you the future, the zombie video game episode scaring me, and the last is one where a guy is an artist
Worry Dolls did have 3 wishes, technically. She makes an excuse to get away from her parents and says she's worried her room's too messy. The dolls take it literally and brick off her room
More than that: 1. She wished her nanny would go away. They locked her in the garden shed 2. She wished she didn't have to practice her violin. They destroyed her violin 3. She wished her parents could spend more time with her. Then, the parents want to spend every hour of every day with the kids. 4. She wished her room was messy and they bricked it up 5. She wished her brother would shut up. They sealed up his mouth so he couldn't talk.
This whole video was a massive nostalgia trip. I kept watching and going "oh, fuck I remember that one!" And get reminded on why I loved it so much as a kid. Edit: Also mad respect for the sheer body count of the haunting hour especially when they would just straight up kill off the main character. That show always felt like it never pulled any punches.
I don't think that the charaters on stage in "Stage Fright" were killed. At the end of the episode the witch revealed that the actors on stage were not her targets like the and us were lead to believe, but the adults in the audience.
Holy shit, I remember the ending to the space kid episode where he’s forced to play with them. But anyways, I kept on thinking that Creeped Out episodes. I also liked going through the episodes and saying “hey, I know that guy, I remember him, I used to watch his stuff!”
Holy shit! Thank you for taking the time to do this. I love your videos. I was hoping you’d do the haunting hour one day. What about the show Creeped Out maybe? Again, appreciate all the effort you put in your vids. You’re awesome
You don’t understand how much I love this video👏👏So perfectly executed, organized nicely and your commentary sums up all the episodes perfect. Not only am I left feeling nostalgic but you could not have set this up better🙏🙏🙏💕same w the goosebumps one
For number 20, Sick actually doesn't end in a 'it was all a fever dream', lots of ambiguity as to what is real and what isn't. I mean it kinda does but it blurs between what's real and what's not.
Dude you are so underrated, found you back in the goosebumps video, 3 years ago now. I wish UA-cam would recommended your channel on other videos besides ranking videos, but another banger my friend, can’t wait to see what’s next
The Spaceman director's cut was put up by Super Nostalgia. Oh man, a lot of massive fan favorite ended up on the lower hand. Most notable is Dead Body but there's also Fear Never Knocks, Imaginary Friend, and so on. On the flip side, Near Mint Condition and Return of the Pumpkinheads are rather hated. This is my top list if you wanna see lol: HONORABLE MENTONS: 15.Return of Lilly D 14.Catching Cold 13.Funhouse 12.The Girl in the Painting 11.Goodwill Toward Men 10.Fear Never Knocks 9.The Perfect Brother 8.Flight 7.Sick 6.Really You 5.The Golem 4.Grandpa’s Glasses 3.My Imaginary Friend 2.Detention 1.Scarecrow Same top (and bottom) pick at least lol.
I can see why Red Eye doesn't click for some. It's one of my favorites because even if the story is nothing fancy, for me the emotional atmosphere succeeds at feeling meaningful, even if it's all under the surface. Like many Haunting Hour episodes, it feels like a metaphor, although this one you can interpret a lot of ways. For me, it feels like a painful portrait of a parental relationship when the dad is always away on business; her separation anxiety, masked by excitement over postcards, nevertheless manifests until she actually fears her own father, because by the time he finally comes home, he doesn't feel familiar anymore. In fact, it's like she doesn't know him at all by that point, like he's another person. Her dread of being confronted with this person she's supposed to love but is now afraid of is so palpable. Perhaps the scares aren't great, but I think it affects me because the subtext story feels very real.
Before starting this video, I literally knew that Poof De Fromage would be ranked at the bottom. I saw Kyle Norty cover it on his Kids Are Smarter Than This series. And wow, is it dumb.
Headshot is actually one of my favorite episode, it is pretty enjoyable and the ending still creeps me out. :) My least favorite one is Swarmin Norman because I hate bugs so much, the episode grossed me out so much…
Headshot has a spot in my heart for being a lite version of "The Picture of Dorian Grey". One of my favorite books. If you liked this episode, the book has essentially the same mechanics and gets much darker.
The Cast really has the feeling of an older horror morality tale of guilt. Like the Tell Tale Heart, or that folk tale where the witch makes a mean woman spit up bugs and frogs.
THANK YOU, thank you for ranking Near Mint Condition in the top 15 (I mean for me it’s like top 5) But you’re the first person I’ve ever seen actually enjoy it and see it’s value
Afraid of Clowns was my favorite Haunting Hour episode. Sometimes I still think about them cutting into him like a cake, crazy shit for a little kid to be watching but I’m sure it has something to do with my clown fascination now lol
Scarecrow is one of favorite episodes because it sets the tone of the story very early and doesn’t beat around the bush . The way scenes are shot should be praised as well, specifically the scene where the stranger is watching the family’s house at night and it’s just so quite . The acting is so good I mean everyone did really good especially the siblings and the stranger , that one scene where the sister is running away and stops to only slowly turn around and see the stranger’s car is so good. The ending is so well written and shot it didn’t need no over the top twist just quiet shots of places we’ve seen with the stranger giving us a monologue of what the world has come to .
The problem with The Dead Body is that Jake actually was a good ghost in the original story, as well as Will's uncle and best friend. The TV version just had to have a stupid twist ending. They also seemed to be mixing it up with other ghost stories. Jake's backstory of being burnt to death by bullies seems like a reference to Curtis Danko from When Good Ghouls Go Bad. They also seemed to lift the scene with the janitor recognizing Jake's name straight out of Susie Q, which might have been where the idea of Jake being from the Sixties came from. I also really hated that they gave Jake the backstory of being a bullied, murdered kid and made him a villain. He never had a chance at life. Even the adults wrote him off as a strange kid who had it coming. His killers never even got punished and they were to blame for the whole mess. Sorry for the rant, but the original story meant so much to me as a kid and they wasted what could have been a really great character.
The scariest episodes for me were Mascot, Scarecrow, and Lilly D. Lilly D traumatized me for YEARS because I was about 8 when I watched it and I was so convinced my parents would be the same. I remember having recurring nightmares of my parents realising I the doll replaced me, but letting me die anyway becaude they liked the doll better.
Idk if you forgot or you just didn't include it, but at the end of "Sick" the twist was not that it was all a dream, but rather that it wasn't. Throughout the episode the news hosts were helping the kid to fight the alien, so at the end when he wakes up and his mom tells him he was just having a fever dream, the hosts talk to him again and tell him he's basically hallucinating bc of the poison in the house. The kid has a panic attack and the episode ends. It had such a surreal feeling that no other episode had, which is why I like it a lot.
I remember watching this show as it aired. One of the few shows I have ever done that with especially as a kid. But Scarecrow was one that shook me down for everything I had. I would watch over and over and over trying to decipher what even happened. The fear of what wasn’t seen haunted me for hours of my life.
Just found your channel due to this video and I'm in love, I was in utter disbelief when I went to your channel and saw that your a small youtuber. Keep up the awesome work the few videos I've seen by you (including this one) have been awesome asf
The eerie low pitch of the Creamy Cold truck still makes my skin prickle to this day. We had an ice cream truck down our road sometimes and that tune always played in my head.
I feel kinda bad that most of my faves ranked so low, but then again I am really easy to please and thoroughly enjoyed almost every episode, I'd say it's definitely a fair ranking!
om* I've been trying to remember this show for years! it was one of my absolute favorites as a kid and really jumpstarted my special interest in horror. I have such vivid memories of some of these episodes, namely the pumpkinheads and really you doll ones(the letter especially since I did have a custom american girl doll at the time)
I don’t know if anyone else mentioned this but in the episode “Alien Candy”, throughout the episode there’s a lunch Lady and her making chicken nuggets, during the ending bit when main character and his friends defeat the aliens with salt and melt them into goo while on a table, then the lunch lady comes in and unknowingly pushes the alien goo remains in an open bucket of chicken nugget batter, and the next day the main character realizes the entire school is eating aliens and screams
Every tales from the crypt and every twilight zone episodes both the 80's version,60's version and Jordan peels version would be awesome to see at some point
As someone who also watched Really You as a kid it indeed fucked me up as well. I had nightmares about this for up to five years after watching it and is the reason that the only episodes ever watched were Really You p1 and p2.
Long Time waiting for this one!!! Not enough people talk about this show. Lights Out is one of the most unsettling for me- I love hoe the ghosts are trying to protect people from the actual danger as is Dreamcatcher Shocked you didnt mention CHRISTOPHER LLOYD played the grandpa in Grampires

MAN! This show- Out of all the episodes- ‘Sick’ was what stuck with me most. Because the ending isn’t ‘it was al just a dream’ i think. The last 30 seconds I remember the news anchors on TV start talking to the main character, urging him to REALLY wake up, that he is still in danger. Something about this show always frightened me because the endings could be cruel- you never really knew if some of these literal children would make it out alive or not horribly punished
I believe in Sick, it really was all just a dream. What happens is, he falls asleep in his mother's arms and starts dreaming again, that's why the TV guy starts talking again. The blinding light at the end is him waking up.
Catching cold being so high up is so awesome to me, because it was terrifying as a kid. It basically started my horror movie addiction! Loved the ranking, a good deep dive into a fav show :)
the thing that makes really you my favorite is the lesson is your mom or parent can love their daughter but they don't have to like them which is why the part were lily d was trying to make the mom like her you can tell

I like the og ending better
what was the other ending?
The Red Dress at 60 is criminally underrated. That was one of my favorite episodes when I was younger. It gave me nightmares and afraid that if I went to sleep I'd wake up blind. Idk or maybe I just had some underlying fear of going blind
Dreamcatcher… TRAUMATIZED me, it’s the only episode I still can’t rewatch cause I’ll get paranoid 😭
Saaame i personally think it was wanna the scariest ones in my opinion it felt more like a horror movie then scary show for kids
I didn’t sleep for two straight days after watching that as a kid
Be fr lol 😂
DREAMCATCHER WAS TERROR. The bathroom scene had me cowering bro idk wtf Stine smoked before coming up with that one
I really like “My Robot”, it’s really weird, and feels like it’s a 50’s movie.
I just wished it leaned into the whole 50's movie vibe a little bit more
Also, aren't you the guy who always requested the My Robot episode on @Kingnusmi 's channel? It's an honor to have you in my comment section
@@SimplyColin Crossover of the century.
@@SimplyColinyes, I was that guy, and that was really funny.
@@SimplyColinwe need this collab
Kinda surprised you said in Pumpkin Heads that all three died?
In the sequel episode, it's confirmed Dave survived and went to the police.
And that in the sequel The farmer probably got arrested and sent to jail on Man Slaughter Charges.
The Red Dress episode make me think of Are You Afarid of the Dark episode when a girl trade in something to have what she wants it gets worse for her.
The vacant lot episode. Yes that is why i liked the red dress episode so much.
Good memories. The Mascot and pumpkinhead episodes I found myself revisiting sometimes, even after the show ended. I didn’t remember much of anything from the last season, but this show and goosebumps will always hold a special place in my childhood. Good video
you were so real for that top 3, the mascot episode STILL unironically scares me
dreamcatcher monster might be the freakiest looking monster
It freaked me out JUST AS MUCH AS HYPNO!!
I always thought the implied ending of The Hole was that the family were now fated to die in a car crash, and the cycle would repeat itself.
I agree
omg great to see all the episodes all in one video ❤️ i love rankings but i just mean that there are so many episodes that a lot of them are neglected / not really covered on youtube just because of the sheer amount of episodes.
Also Debbie Ryan! I grew with her on Jessie so she was one of the only ones I recognized.
or dylan minnette lmaoo😭 i did not expect to see him here
And Braeden from the wallows
I literally spit my water when I saw Rowley
This is the ending I remember as well
“really you” still messes with me to this day and i’ve realized it’s the “uncanny valley” feeling . that doll looked real but not real and that’s what terrified me
I loved this show, but I only was interested in it for 5 months where I only saw the first 2 seasons.
More than that:
1. She wished her nanny would go away. They locked her in the garden shed
2. She wished she didn't have to practice her violin. They destroyed her violin
3. She wished her parents could spend more time with her. Then, the parents want to spend every hour of every day with the kids.
4. She wished her room was messy and they bricked it up
5. She wished her brother would shut up. They sealed up his mouth so he couldn't talk.
@ChristopherBingham-xx8xl he mentioned 3 and 5, but you're totally right. I didn't even notice those ones LOL
Aye my favorite youtuber made a new video
Also I liked how you use the living forest music from Mortal Kombat for number 44
and when the world needed him most…he RETURNED!
Seeing Phineas as a French alien on this show was definitely a trip
The twist in my imaginary friend, actually shocked me when I first watched it when aired. I was flabbergasted.
Was absolutely obsessed with this show and it was one of the few ones I would actually catch at every premier
These ranking videos are so in-depth and amazing 🤩
YES! IVE BEEN WAITING FOR THIS!!
This is my top list if you wanna see lol:
HONORABLE MENTONS:
15.Return of Lilly D
14.Catching Cold
13.Funhouse
12.The Girl in the Painting
11.Goodwill Toward Men
10.Fear Never Knocks
9.The Perfect Brother
8.Flight
7.Sick
6.Really You
5.The Golem
4.Grandpa’s Glasses
3.My Imaginary Friend
2.Detention
1.Scarecrow
Same top (and bottom) pick at least lol.
The ending for Sick, to this day, still confuses me. Flight genuinely brought me right back to the Twilight Zone and i love it
Sick confused me too. I hate the sick episode nothing about it makes any sense to me.
@@entertainmentlife430 Really?
@@naomithornhill2079 really?
@@entertainmentlife430 I liked the episode. It was just confusing
@@naomithornhill2079 what was good about that episode?
I can't believe you're not more popular, your videos are so amazing!
Lets go! Loved the video man. Been here since goosebumps
Headshot is actually one of my favorite episode, it is pretty enjoyable and the ending still creeps me out. :)
My least favorite one is Swarmin Norman because I hate bugs so much, the episode grossed me out so much…
Headshot has a spot in my heart for being a lite version of "The Picture of Dorian Grey". One of my favorite books. If you liked this episode, the book has essentially the same mechanics and gets much darker.
@@poissonsumac7922 oh thanks for the book suggestion, I’ll try checking it out.
Lol I loved Swarmin Norman
i remember watching this episode with my dad and being all good until the last shot of her face that scared me SO BAD 😭
I love that episode too.
Afraid of Clowns was my favorite Haunting Hour episode. Sometimes I still think about them cutting into him like a cake, crazy shit for a little kid to be watching but I’m sure it has something to do with my clown fascination now lol
Music choice was crazy good man keep it up
i did not realize how many famous faces are in this show. i recognized at least one actor from almost every clip you showed from something else
The amount of repeat actors always made me so confused, like "am I watching a new episode or a sequel?"
Goosebumps also had a lot of repeat actors playing completely different characters.
Your channel is fairly underrated, especially the choice of music in the video. Especially the Twilight Princess music.
4:17 the only good thing screen rant has ever done is pitch meeting
Just found your channel due to this video and I'm in love, I was in utter disbelief when I went to your channel and saw that your a small youtuber. Keep up the awesome work the few videos I've seen by you (including this one) have been awesome asf
Damn great video man! I was surprised to see that your channel was so small, I know you’re gonna blow up in no time!
Much love Colin. Your content rules.
Scarecrow and Red Dress scared me SO BAD when I was younger. I’m 17 now but I watched those when I was like 7 😭
I’ve been waiting for this, even though I just watched it😂
The eerie low pitch of the Creamy Cold truck still makes my skin prickle to this day. We had an ice cream truck down our road sometimes and that tune always played in my head.
Just saw your Goosebumps video a few days ago. This is a treat!
didn't realize dylan minnette was in this until now! funny that he was in this and went on to be in the goosebumps movie
:D it makes me so happy that people still remember this show! I loved watching it as a kid
this channel is so underrated, i’ve been binging all day
I feel kinda bad that most of my faves ranked so low, but then again I am really easy to please and thoroughly enjoyed almost every episode, I'd say it's definitely a fair ranking!
om* I've been trying to remember this show for years! it was one of my absolute favorites as a kid and really jumpstarted my special interest in horror. I have such vivid memories of some of these episodes, namely the pumpkinheads and really you doll ones(the letter especially since I did have a custom american girl doll at the time)
I don’t know if anyone else mentioned this but in the episode “Alien Candy”, throughout the episode there’s a lunch
Lady and her making chicken nuggets, during the ending bit when main character and his friends defeat the aliens with salt and melt them into goo while on a table, then the lunch lady comes in and unknowingly pushes the alien goo remains in an open bucket of chicken nugget batter, and the next day the main character realizes the entire school is eating aliens and screams
What should I rank next? 👀
Every goosebumps 2023 episode
Every twilight zone episode.
Evey Tales from the Crypt episode ranked. (Though that show has like 93 episodes so maybe just a few seasons or the animated adaption).
Every tales from the crypt and every twilight zone episodes both the 80's version,60's version and Jordan peels version would be awesome to see at some point
Every twilight zone episode
Cant wait for the Creeped out ranking /j. Your videos are great! Thire so fun to watch
lol you joke but with the number of people asking for Creeped Out it's pretty evident that's gonna be the next video. Also, thank you!
@@SimplyColin lmao good luck!
brush of madness actually terrified me as a kid
As someone who also watched Really You as a kid it indeed fucked me up as well. I had nightmares about this for up to five years after watching it and is the reason that the only episodes ever watched were Really You p1 and p2.
Long Time waiting for this one!!!
Not enough people talk about this show.
Lights Out is one of the most unsettling for me- I love hoe the ghosts are trying to protect people from the actual danger
as is Dreamcatcher
Shocked you didnt mention CHRISTOPHER LLOYD played the grandpa in Grampires
cant wrap my head around the fact that you aren't huge. ive yet to find a channel with the level of quality content that youre producing, with the amount of subs you have. youre being slept on HEAVY! keep grinding brother, your extremely likeable and your goosebumps episode ranking video in particular was fucking sick. wish you nothing but the best in your career.
10:34 fun fact, the actress who played Jessica in that episode, was also in an episode of “curb your enthusiasm”.
MAN! This show-
Out of all the episodes- ‘Sick’ was what stuck with me most.
@ ive never thought about it that way!! Thats a fun idea :D
Catching cold being so high up is so awesome to me, because it was terrifying as a kid. It basically started my horror movie addiction! Loved the ranking, a good deep dive into a fav show :)
the dreamcatcher episode has traumatized me for years and when I first watched it I could not sleep
the thing that makes really you my favorite is the lesson is your mom or parent can love their daughter but they don't have to like them which is why the part were lily d was trying to make the mom like her you can tell
Granpires and really you was my 1st favorite episode of this show :)
