Great video. The only thing I didn't hear was about leaf propagation. I acquired a leaf that broke off a friends plant. I thought I'd try and root it and hopefully have a new friend for my lithops and other succulents.
With taking a little clump into a new pot, do they keep pupping out growing more and filling out the pot? Or do you need seed for each little toe? Thanks!
Hi. This is a fantastic video. I learned a lot thanks to you, thank you! 1:04 I tried to pollinate my baby toes flowers and I think it work because it is getting plumpier (previous flowers I didn't touched got thin and just dried out), but how do I know when will it be time to harvest the seeds? I read flower bud must dried and get crispy? Can you help me out? thanks
Glad you found the video helpful 😀👍 yes you will notice the flower getting plumpier when pollination has worked. Wait until the seed pod has dried completely and then harvest the seed pod and place them in water to open the pod to get the seeds out. Sometimes I use a toothpick to get the seed out. Hope that helps and answers your questions 😀👍
@@mickssucculents do you know if this effect of flower buds getting pumplier after a successful pollination is shared by more/most plants / succulents? Your videos are great, lots of plants, beautiful! Thank you for everything =)
They dont have to be. You can leave the top sitting above the soil by a couple of centimetres 👍 They aren't a very tall growing plant. The less sun you give them the taller they will go, which means they need more sunlight.
Hi Evelyn, we are now using a commercial potting mix, which we also use as a prop or seed raising mix. However, you can still use the zeolite, perlite and coir recipe. For Baby Toes, I would maybe add some pumice, scoria or granite to it to increase the mineral content in it. Like Lithops, they like a really well drained mix. For these guys, I would say 40% organic (potting or seed raising mix) and 60% gritty. Then add a small layer of seed raising or potting mix over the top and then mix the seed with some coarse sand and spread it over :) Hope that helps :D

Thank you 🙂🙏 I've never tried them from leaf. I've only experienced them from dividing them, cuttings and also seed 🙂
They can't propagate by leaf, you need a piece of stem in order for it to successfully get new growth.
@@robertopetraroli3552 awesome thanks for letting us know 🙂👍
Great info, you answered my question. Now Could you show a video of a seed harvest from one of these guys and how to germinate them.
Yeah sure we can do that when we have seed pods 🙂👍

They should keep pupping and will eventually fill the new pot 🙂👍

Great video once again mate 👌
Thank Mate! Glad you found it helpful! 😊
How do you propagate via leaf? One of my leaves broke off. Do I plant the leaf directly? Or lay it on its side?
Hi Kenny, I haven't tried growing them from a leaf. Normally seed or a pup. I won't try placing it in the soil and see how it goes 🙂👍
I have these and they are dying can you please help me. I only water them once per day idk why they're dying
Try to avoid watering them daily. Perhaps once a week to once a fortnight. Sounds like they may have died from overwatering.
@@mickssucculents yeah they died 😂
Do baby toes need to remain buried up to the top , like Lithops for example? Or can they grow tall, if so how tall?
Also can The be propagated from there leaves/cuttings at all? Or only from seeds?

I've never tried from a leaf, but they do divide well when you split them apart or seeds work well too 🙂👍
i want some😍😍😍
They are super cute :)
Which propagating mix, is it the cutting mix(zeolite perlite and coir) you showed us on a UA-cam video a while back?

Great information, but I got seasick, with the camera moving all over. Maybe try to do less motion next time?
Thanks for the feeback. We aren't videographers, just doing the best we can. 😊
thank you for the tips, but the camera person didn't hold steady very well..I'm dizzy from watching this video.
Yes sorry, we have a few videos we will redo 🙂👍
