@@taebray1951 it’s honestly one of my favorite cars. I upgraded it and threw a twin turbo set on it and built the internal components so it could handle the extra boost and it runs like a dream. It has very quick response even with just a cold air intake and I’ve gotten it up to 130 on the stock suspension because I’m scared to push it faster 😅.

For daily driving, the 5AT should be fine, but when drifting, etc., manual mode seems responsive enough on it. Also don’t they use the same design as the VQ automatic trans’? I know the non-SRT models with the 6MT, basically use the same trans design as the MT Nissan 350/370Z’s, Infiniti G35/G37’s.

This one had CAI, not much but should be good for 15hp +. Not to mention, the 6 didn't have a driver too.
The SRT eight also has a hell of a lot more weight on it I think the srt6 is definitely faster on acceleration but towards the top and I believe the eight is going to get a faster TopSpeed

They should def be making a srt6 till this day. Turbocharge the pentastar, or put a centrifugal supercharger from the factory. Would be one badass car.
I have the srt6 with Mercedes performance (renntech package) it has upgraded pulleys and few other upgrades over the base model srt6...mine is the light silver blue soft top....with renntech you would have been about 3/4 to 1 length ahead of him that was my results racing my friend Steven's srt8 he had a full exhaust other than that im not aware of any other mods he has

I feel like dodge missed the opportunity to make a SRT/6 again with the V6 challenger and charger would of been sick for them to have a whole performance line up from SRT/6 to SRT Superstock.
Yea ford and Chevy does it have you never seen a mustang ecoboost or a Chevy camero rs but I know it must be crazy to think that but hey soon dodge is going to offer an inline 6 turbo so I guess we might get that SRT 6 after all.
@@jmur3551 Supercharging the challenger will cost 8-10k. A new pulley/tune on the SRT6 costs 1k. The srt6 can hit 380ish whp with just those mods on 93 octane. At their weight 380whp is absolutely insane, people run 11s in them. A challenger would need 600hp to touch those numbers because of its weight. Sure you could buy an srt8 and drop 15k on it and it will beat an srt6 that you buy for 15k amd spend another grand on mods. But would you expect a 65k car to be slower than a 16k one?

That makes no sense, of course the srt8 would win then. Fact is the srt6 was built with a supercharger. If you took it off it would be the same as the standard 215 hp crossfire which does 60 in 6.5 secs, which incidentally is still much faster than a Prius 😂

Interesting fact.... Convertibles are almost always heavier, because engineering has to account for lost overhead stability by reinforcing the chassis. So much so, that sometimes a convertible version is geared differently than it's coupe counterpart to make up the speed that the extra weight slows. My former Mustang convertible was nearly 400 lbs heavier than the coupe, and lost more than half a second in it's 0 - 60 time. But I do believe your car is incredibly fast! I've always wanted one.

I've raced one this past week. I didn't know there's different trims. I have a 2021 Dodge Challenger 392, 6spd. I didn't launch it. I lost by a few inches. If I see it again I'm launching.
Everyone is saying the challenger struggled to keep up... it’s a supercharged v6 in a car that weighs half as much as an NA v8... of course it’s going to be quicker
damn that old benz is still moving pretty good.. srt8 is stick and the srt6 is auto so there's human error involved. but i would be worried about amg engine's reliability and cost of parts vs american v8 even tho i had to fix my "mercedes" transmission in my 6.1L SRT8 cost me pretty good money
My crossfire leaves pretty much anything behind..has only 30,000 miles on it- sat in a garage for most of the time- only issue i have had is the bloody spoiler occasionally sticks up

You are half right. The SRT6 may be lighter but it also has plenty of power to beat V8's. For example, the SRT6 is the opposite compared with a stock Miata which is lighter but it has no enough power to beat others 4 cylinders cars like the Civic, Neon, Cobalt SS or even the NA Crossfire.

It seems that the SRT8 struggled a lot to keep up with the stock SRT6.
Looks to be a 6.1L which only make 425hp to the crank.
So 425hp @ 4140lbs vs. 330hp @3140lbs

That srt6 must be fast i had a c32 amg which is same engine but more weight and that thing RIPPED

I had the srt6 many years ago. After a pulley, intake and new tyres I timed myself at 3.9 to 60mph. With the intake it made a sweet supercharger whine

New Supercharger pulley and a tune and the crossfire will walk on the challenger. Things are hilarious little sleepers with a couple mods!
Its a supercharged car making 330 hp. Make it natural aspirated and it would be slower than a prius. Supercharge an srt8 and then compare it now
