    What color up the succulents?

    • @mickssucculents
      @mickssucculents  2 роки тому

      Stress through lack of water, fertiliser low in Nitrogen, dormancy and enough sunlight :)

    Hi Mick
    I was wondering about the mineral mix, I have been using perlite but have been told it’s not the best. I also have zeolite which I’ve been told retains water and shouldn’t be used.
    I was wanting your oppinion on this.
    I’m finding it difficult to find other mineral types in my rural town

      Hi Aleisha, perlite can retain moisture and zeolite, but they do allow good oxygen in and around the plants. The zeolite is fantastic at trapping nutrients and feeding the plants, rather than the nutrients being leeched through the bottom. Are you able to get crushed or decomposed granite? Most landscape suppliers should stock that. Hope that helps.

      Is the granite for the mix or the top of the pot

    What is the brand name of seaweed fertilizer you use ?

  • @soulstarguidancereadingswi4938

    Love your videos, but when you're giving out names can you say them slowly, so I can write them down please.
    Same with types that are dormant in different seasons. Cheers

    How did you make the agavoides color up? I have some in direct morning sun, some are in indirect sun. All are pale. :D

      They colour through time of the year mainly when dormant in Winter. Lack of fertiliser, water and the amount of sun they get. The ones that are in indirect sun, probably sound like they need more direct sunlight. I hope that helps 😀👍

    Do I need to have a green house for succulents?

    • @mickssucculents
      @mickssucculents  2 роки тому +1

      Hi Ortencia, not at all. You can grow them outside. We just have them in them to allow a more controlled environment e.g watering. The greenhouses also stay warmer in Winter and that allows extra growth for the plants, rather that them growing outside. Hope that helps.

    Your succulents always look sooo AMAZING. Trying to get the right blend of soil mix for my plants does my head in. I can't tell you how many different varients I have tried. What's the name of the commercial mix you guys use and where do you get it from?

    • @mickssucculents

    Your plants look absolutely perfect. I ordered from you for the first time and was most impressed with the quality of my plants.
    I did send an email to thank you and let you know what I thought.
    So........please tell us your soil recipe, do you mix your own?

      Thank you for your kind words 🙂🙏
      We use a commercial mix, which contains pine, coir, peat, sand, pumice and perlite. Which just add zeolite to it 🙂👍

    What makes the succulent grow big?

    • @mickssucculents
      @mickssucculents  2 роки тому +2

      A good fertiliser, potting mix, timing things right with water, good amounts of light and the right sized pot :)
