Really appreciate you uploads. You like to graft. May I suggest I think your cranking them acros to tight. They should just be supporting the wall above not pushing it up. That's why you get a few brick coming loose. I normally just throw an add on gumtree or other for free bricks and there gone for you. Obviously must be gone when you need them to.
That would give me the shivers seeing the whole side supported on acros 😁 Be interesting to see how you get the steel against the wall ready for lifting. Good luck Izzy 👍👍👍
Good Vid mate, shame you couldn't get that steel in place on the ground before the Acros whent up.I would have been inclined to wait untill it was delivered. There is a small tracked fork lift available now specifically for lifting steels in 👍
Ayup Andy mate! I usually do that, cos it just makes life so simple..and we all like an easy life. But the steels had a 3 week wait time. At the start of the dig ( first day) we were told only 2 days wait. I'll have a Google at that mate!
Andy's correct. Search for Hooka.🫣 Seriously.👍 Was the propping schedule specced by the SE? Doesn't look like their usual methodologies. Personally, I won't have masonry resting on flooring joinery even with spreaders, get the Acrows direct onto the needles, and on to solid ground. Doesn't take much movement to get cracks up that age of brickwork...👍
Andy is correct. Search for Hooka 🫣 seriously. Was the propping schedule specced by the SE? Looks sketchy to me. Acrows only need to contact the masonry, not lift it. Personally, I won't have masonry resting on flooring joinery even with spreaders. Load distribution with openings in the masonry above and an abutting partition wall, (which looks to be taking the upstairs floor loads mid-span) is a lot more complex than 45° steps in the brickwork. Don't forget the roof loading, too. Everyone has done sketchy stuff with steels at some point, but I'd be thinking something like this one through a bit more in future. Look at 60° triangles between your propping points next time. Hopefully, this steel ends up spliced as that looks a right ball-ache otherwise. None of this is criticism, just food for thought.👍
Dude, you are a working machine. Love watching you go about this incredible build out. Stay safe and keep the videos coming. Retired 75 year old carpenter in Detroit Michigan USA
With the goal posts, get a few extra acrows and get rhe steel lined up outside the props, then add props closer to rhe house on one end, take the external props out and wiggle the steel in to be behind where the original props were. Reinstall rhe original props and just do it along the length until the steel is behind the line of props. To get it in use a couple of dollys. I made one out of steel and mini quadbike wheels. Much easier than the forks.

Do the bricks get recycled or are any saved as "vintage" bricks for those who are doing additions on similar aged houses and want to try and match up the bricks on their new additions with bricks of the same style and vintage as what they have? We have such a thing here on the other side of the pond.
