- Hey all, so as you know I have recently found myself on a pretty exciting journey diving into a ton of lostwave music, lost songs, lost media and all sorts incredible internet rabbit holes (shoutout to ShaiiValley and LsupersonicQ). As you guys know, I will be releasing an album of Lost Wave music as I have really gone on a journey after discovering Like The Wind (The Most Mysterious Song On the Internet) followed by "Everyone Knows That" and then "La Cancion de Alicia." Also gotta shoutout Justin Whang from Whang! for kinda really kicking off my interest in this stuff. Ok Anyway, enjoy this video about Lost Media you're def gonna like it

EDIT: Ok super awkward I am just noticing for some reason I have a very visible dislike on Justin Whang's video. I literally have no idea how this happened I am assuming when I tapped my spacebar it did that thing where it switches like to dislike (you guys know what I am talking about?) @@archivesdxc I do agree that the "wooo spooky" gimmick gets old fast, but there is something inherently creepy about the idea of lost media and especially lost music.
The fact that a song, or even an album of songs, can go through a massively involved planning, concept, execution, recording, editing, and finally distribution process to actually become a thing.
Then after all this involvement, technology and collaboration, this creation simply ceases to be remembered, archived, or properly recorded... Until it appears 30-40 years later as a small, distorted audio clip.
It both reminds us that we are simply not capable of documenting and preserving much of our culture, and that those creations can disappear from common memory and record almost completely in such a small amount of time, with such an easily archived format of a song.
It makes you wonder how much of our culture, technology, and ways have been lost over a greater period of time...
@@spaghettimkay5795 we make music and I promise you it’s not that impossible to think it could go missing. It’s not THAT involved either, sometimes it is but the best songs are always made super quick. It’s honestly just more depressing than it is creepy.
So real, I already find lost media, especially lost music, very creepy so watching those videos scare me shitless LMAO

fun fact, for dayeene im yours. ilya actually posted a video back in 2013 on youtube called "unknown" and he uploaded the snippet of the song. Thats the earliest post of him trying to find the song

I'd love you to cover "How long will it take" now its search is gaining momentum. I don't know if it's findable. It seems like various clips were put on the menus of various bootleg DVDs. It's a great-sounding song, I'd love to have just a full version, even if we can't identify the artist.
We are very close to having the full song with almost 2 minutes

Although lostwave August 2019 is extremely distorted it would be nice if you made a video on theories about its origin and maybe recreate the song with your own lyrics based off what you think it’s saying

Also in Brazil, we have the most heard mysterious song in the world. Unlike those obscure songs from cassette tapes, for more than 30 years a brief 30-second instrumental was played everyday in the 2nd largest Brazilian network as the opening for a kids show and despite 10 years of internet research nobody can trace its origins. Its provisional name is 'Abertura Chapolin', 'Chapolin BGM' or 'Chapolin Polka'. People are obsessed with this iconic song making restorations, covers and writing a proper endings to the incomplete tune. The song is not Brazilian, nor part of the show but extensively used by the SBT network to promote it from 1988 to 2019.
I hope someday there's a lost song called "Red Sector One" because then everyone will know where it's from
