Friends, thank you all so much for being here I appreciate each and everyone of you. As I stated at the end of the video, I will now be commencing work on an album of Lostwave music entitled Lostwave Vol. 1. If you'd like to support me in this endeavor, over on my Patreon we will be doing exclusive updates and more so please head over there, if the spirit takes you (though no obligation, of course) Thank you all, and love you very much - NÆte Patreon: www.patreon.com/Naetemusic Other Lostwave covers: Like The Wind: ua-cam.com/video/7NLQNYeL0tQ/v-deo.html Everyone Knows That: ua-cam.com/video/2IJ-VSTSTp8/v-deo.html La Cancion De Alicia: ua-cam.com/video/q9sQGDUEank/v-deo.html EDIT: Ok super awkward I am just noticing for some reason I have a very visible dislike on Justin Whang's video. I literally have no idea how this happened I am assuming when I tapped my spacebar it did that thing where it switches like to dislike (you guys know what I am talking about?) Anyway nothing but love to Whang! his video was very helpful in my research, super awkward sorry about that!
@@archivesdxc I do agree that the "wooo spooky" gimmick gets old fast, but there is something inherently creepy about the idea of lost media and especially lost music. The fact that a song, or even an album of songs, can go through a massively involved planning, concept, execution, recording, editing, and finally distribution process to actually become a thing. Then after all this involvement, technology and collaboration, this creation simply ceases to be remembered, archived, or properly recorded... Until it appears 30-40 years later as a small, distorted audio clip. It both reminds us that we are simply not capable of documenting and preserving much of our culture, and that those creations can disappear from common memory and record almost completely in such a small amount of time, with such an easily archived format of a song. It makes you wonder how much of our culture, technology, and ways have been lost over a greater period of time...
@@spaghettimkay5795 we make music and I promise you it’s not that impossible to think it could go missing. It’s not THAT involved either, sometimes it is but the best songs are always made super quick. It’s honestly just more depressing than it is creepy.
I just wanna say that your interpretation of La Cancion De Alicia/Under The Stars is my absolute favourite version of that song so far. Really looking forward to your Lostwave album.
fun fact, for dayeene im yours. ilya actually posted a video back in 2013 on youtube called "unknown" and he uploaded the snippet of the song. Thats the earliest post of him trying to find the song
I'm happy that Is this Love? got mentioned, I love that damn song since it got identified. I didn't know it had THIS MUCH BACKSTORY! You've got a new subbie.
I'd love you to cover "How long will it take" now its search is gaining momentum. I don't know if it's findable. It seems like various clips were put on the menus of various bootleg DVDs. It's a great-sounding song, I'd love to have just a full version, even if we can't identify the artist.
Although lostwave August 2019 is extremely distorted it would be nice if you made a video on theories about its origin and maybe recreate the song with your own lyrics based off what you think it’s saying
Also in Brazil, we have the most heard mysterious song in the world. Unlike those obscure songs from cassette tapes, for more than 30 years a brief 30-second instrumental was played everyday in the 2nd largest Brazilian network as the opening for a kids show and despite 10 years of internet research nobody can trace its origins. Its provisional name is 'Abertura Chapolin', 'Chapolin BGM' or 'Chapolin Polka'. People are obsessed with this iconic song making restorations, covers and writing a proper endings to the incomplete tune. The song is not Brazilian, nor part of the show but extensively used by the SBT network to promote it from 1988 to 2019.
😆 LMAOOOO its supposed to be "needed" but I stumbled thru my words and you're right it kinda sounds like that and now you got me laughing 😂 Oh man that was funny af I needed that.
Some people claim Lostwave August 2019 is a mashup of two songs. Do you have any idea where that claim comes from and is there any hope for a name for this song?

You should check out LSuperSonicQ, he focuses on lost media and his vids don't have a creepy feeling
Literally. I don’t wanna be crawling in my skin when learning about something as simple as lost songs

"Johnny" sounds enough like some of John Kay's solo work that I have to wonder if the singer is German.
I bet that guy was that mentor even if we did know.
I would stay subscribed to you even if you only made these video essays on lostwave, etc. so good
