My little corner of UA-cam that I fill with Wagnerian/Berliozian style music criticism/analysis/history as well performance videos. I'll also be building myself up as an artist/composer.
Mike Stern - Upside Downside (NAETE GUITAR COVER)
Mike Stern is without a doubt one of my all time favorite guitarists, and this was a from a few months back, but I figured it deserved a post nonetheless

Ed Sheeran Vs. Marvin Gaye Lawsuit Nearly ENDED MUSIC FOREVER
EBM is still alive and well
I discovered T-Ride the same way as you, life was so good, I heard the grunge thing was happening but couldn't get seriously into it, with music like T-Ride there's no comparison, then the digital devaluation of music started and labels dropping bands, Napster etc, the music scene has never recovered, T-Ride could make an album today and kick everybody up the ass.
When being weird was a thing….
This video provides a fantastic and in depth analysis of the evolution of psychedelic music. I have to check out more space age pop.
I saw The Residents in Philadelphia early 2000s (Icky Flix DVD just dropped) and a lot of the audience just started to leave. It was not their cup of tea. I kept watching them, transfixed. A random woman walking out stopped and for some reason, turned to me. She was outraged. She angrily asked me, "You're actually staying for this!?" "Yes." "I've seen KISS, I've seen GWAR, I've seen Marilyn Manson. I don't get this!" "Exactly. Maybe that's the point," I replied and smiled at her. She threw her hands up, frustrated and confused. Then she stormed off. One of my favorite concert memories.
Tommy Bolin, who’s my favorite guitar player EVER, was a beast on this record. All of his other stuff was amazing as well if you haven’t checked it out….do your ear holes a favor! You shan’t be disappointed in the slightest.
Tommy Bolin is def on of my all time heroes! Such a great player!
I like to use pinch harmonics on multiple strings when I hit a 2 string power chord. It has a nice effect, but now I’m going to try to get this incorporated into my playing too.
That’s so awesome, let me know how it turns out!
buckethead will love it
I hope Bucket finds this 🪣
It’s found now
Omg this was so interesting and educating! I’m learning basic music theory for songwriting and as a kpop fan, this was just a gift, thank you so much
PLS LESSON
@@MrClass91 I def will do
2:23 Boo! Hiss!
No way, did you invented this?
@@soueu7368 I think? I have searched quite a bit and haven’t ever seen anyone else do it, so if so, that’ll be cool haha
@@NAETEMUSIC ua-cam.com/video/m2xbtyYWff0/v-deo.html&ab_channel=Sebastiside
@@maxforrest2047 Wait that's insane…… lmao I genuinely had no idea anyone else thought of this
No, it was invented atleast 30 years ago by tons of musicians.
So basically Kerry King playing style
In a sense I guess it could be seen that way 😭
It's actually funny when you say the professor plays the triplet with perfect accuracy when he in fact does not!
wat
tbh I am not entirely sure either man lmao.
No mention of Shpongle or Ozric Tentacles!
❤❤❤❤❤ very good 😍

David haselhoff
Kevin Parker?
I take this is as the highest compliment… so yes 😭
Did you take lessons from the shirtlesss guy
@@doormasterjohn wait does this mean 😭
Post modern deconstructionism, oh no.. no wonder it sounds like ass!
I remember finding & listening to them @ 14 a bunch, not because the music was any good (It was God awful on the ears and ugly) but because it was so weird and strange as were the videos.
My fav standard, made me want to play jazz guitar! And congas
@@santsermusic mongo santameria is a genius that is still underrated to this day

everyone knows ! i dont. who are you ?
its cool but by the end i wanted to hear the highs and they remained filtered
@@iswearnotme 1st thank you for watching and 2nd you are right my tone is a constant work in progress and I struggle to get that smooth glidey sound without entirely eliminating highs. Thank you though so much for watching!
@@NAETEMUSIC good point about the tone! either way, great playing
@@iswearnotme 🙏🏻
Leave a comment/like if you agree more song heads should be based around diminished tonality
this video aged like milk
Btw, this goes without saying: NO HATE was meant towards any of the people featured in this video. They are eminently talented! This was more to demonstrate my own insecurities of how I fit into the internet guitar landscape, given my style of playing is very different from the popular styles of today! (demonstrated by those featured, who again I look up to in many ways!)
Update? Its found
Psychedelic music is predicting how humans will adapt to space travel and exploration. The sounds on earth sound different in space. Music of the Spheres is a Pythagorean philosophy. I feel that he predicted the Psychedelic music we know of today.
I was one of those New Yorkers who saw him regularly on the street and just assumed he was some kind of kook panhandler. He certainly was more aloof and dignified than most. I was told not to interact with him, so he became a rather scary figure. I knew NOTHING about his music, so this video was fascinating. Now, of course, I have to hear some!
I love how the newer comments are just the newly found title and artist
08:45 who is this guy?
Song doesn't exist Fex: You where saying
I'm glad it was found
Update: the most mysterous song has been found! (real name: subway's of your mind) by u/marijn1412
The song exist. The mystery was solved in late October of this year. The song is called "Subways of your mind" by the german band "FEX". I'm aware that most of you who's active on the subreddit or in the Discord server already knows about this. I just thought i'd share anyways. :D
Drop a like for the algo, and stream my debut record if you like weird prog-rock/trip hop stuff
Subways of your mind by fex
Fex - subways of your mind this is the song
The song was literally found a few days ago. FEX-Subways of your mind
Feels genuinely surreal the song was found after all this time
Idk. The nuance isn't there, and the chords are wrong. But the Van Halen solo redeemed it
Subways Of Your Mind by FEX.
its found on reddit
it does now
I wouldn't say EBM is dead. It just morphed into sever other more well defined genres. Best example, Aethetic Perfection and APOP are technically categorized as EBM, but would you put it in the same EBM as Front 242?
