Vegetable Glycerin - 11.25 grams
Heated Oil Phase:
Sweet Almond Oil - 15 grams
Shea Butter - 9 grams
Complete Emulsifying wax - 6 grams
Steaaric Acid - 3 grams
Cool Down Phase:
Preservative - 0.75 grams
Formula in Percentages:
Distilled Water - 70%
Humectant - 7.5%
Liquid Oil - 10%
Butter - 6%
Emulsifying wax - 4%
Stearic Acid - 2%
Preservative - 0.5%

Since the recipe has water in it, it is necessary to use a preservative. If it didn't have water in it, like if it was a cleansing balm or an oil mixture it would not require a preservative but bacteria and other stuff can grow in products that have water in them so you have to use some kind of a preservative.
