- In this video I give a full in depth tour of the 2012 Audi S5. I take viewers on a close look through the interior and exterior of this car while showing details, over viewing of features, and noting unique styling cues to the vehicle itself. I also show the engine and the details of it, start it up and see how it sounds under acceleration. A thorough tour/review of this car designed to give others a greater overall appreciation of the vehicle.

Been watching this particular video on repeat for the past year. Constantly filled with joy over the quality content as well as obsessing over this dream car for the past 2 years. I can now happily say that I am a proud owner of one now as of last week. Picked up a Quartz Grey Metallic S5 4.2 V8 prestige package with a manual gearbox :) I have never felt happier since.
How good is in terms of reliability? Does it has any issues? I saw that this a5 with the 3.2 is a pretty reliable car, this 4.2 is same?
What's the reliability like a year later, I was thinking about getting one
@@erekpetrosino126 Reliability has been fairly good. Basic maintenance specific to this model S5 are to be expected like a carbon clean due to it being direct injected, replacing some of the front control arm bushings since they can go bad prematurely due to the car being quite front end heavy, small electrical faults from age... just now my windshield wiper module went bad causing my rain sensor not to work properly. But other than that the engine is bulletproof and the car is fairly reliable.
@@reeseboi8704 Thinking of buying one but it needs to keep up with my friends 996 c4s. How is the handling? Ive heard its a big heavy boat only good for cruising..
@@Ruudiii Handling is severely underrated in this car. Of course it's not the same as an e92 335i or and e92 m3 but still superb. The car feels so planted and smooth in turns and steering wheel feel is pretty predictable. You only feel the bit of the front end weight if you push it very hard in turns. But the Quattro reduces the feel a lott. There are plenty of upgrades you can do to improve handling like upgrading the rear swaybar or fitting tougher bushings to the front suspension
I bought an S5 V8 2009 back in 2011 because of this review. Same seat color, black paint, carbon fiber accents and the B&O audio, Still loving it after 4 years of ownership. Thanks Kyle.
+BrawndoScream Hows the cost of ownership? The only problem Ive heard is the carbon buildup issue with the V8, I'm very close to buying this car also, thanks so much!

Terry Chen Never had a carbon cleanup done, my 2009 is close to 80k kilometers now. I don't know your budget, but If you can find a good shop to stay out of the dealer (stealer) you should be fine. It's not cheap by any means but it's not that bad either. So far, what I've had to replce on the car were control arms and bushings (very bad roads here) and a Purge Valve that threw a check engine light on the dashboard. Had breaks and disks done once, tires changed once (These 19's are expensive) and regular maintenance done on time (Oil/Filter). Compared to my Cayenne that has all kind of issues all the time, it's "reliable" for a German. Oh Also, the electric curtain for the back window broke. But I tinted the window instead of replacing it, was too expensive.

Brawndo how do you manage wit the white leather?
+steve styles Car is sold now but it's higher maintenance than red or black. Tried to keep it as clean as I could and 2 times I had a professional cleaner service. My wife just bought an Acura RDX I convinced here to get black interior just because of my experience with that color. It does look great though.
that S5 has got to be one of the most beautiful Audi's ever built imo...

Beautiful looks, sublime V8 with 6spd MT and a comfortable quiet interior.
This is as close to an ultimate GT car as you can get without spending bucketloads more $. I really like it.

Yeah, the semi automatic mode is amazing, I have a DCT on my BMW 7 series, and I love being able to switch gears with the paddle switchers, because I still feel in touch with the car but without the drawbacks of constantly having to work so hard with keeping up with the manual transmission. For sports cars I would only want Manual's though because I find the shifting enjoyable.

I wish it was a forced induction V8. Be cheaper to get more hp. I have the V8 version. About $14000 to supercharge it.
