i just want to say, omori has a special place in my heart. Not only its a game that perfectly encapsulates how grief, loss and trauam is so complex but it also was the first indie rpg my boyfriend introduced to me out of the blue. I still remember when i would sit in my room watching gameplays of this masterpiece as i could not be able to play it by myself, I got to see everything in it. Everynight I would go and message him and ask him so many questions as he knew the game better than i did, the shift of headspace to the real world, getting over fears, there was so much I would constantly ask him. When it got to the truth, I was shocked. Its a game thats still apart of my memory and one of the earliest I will always cherish with that era of time where he and I fell for eachother and would talk endlessly about omori and well, so much other stuff. I still get videos of this lovely game every now and then, it will always hold a special place in my heart.
It’s funny how little context the trailer explains. All you see are random characters and places of course, you see that dark lightbulb, you see fractions of both the dream AND real worlds, you see other characters like aubrey, kel, hero and basil (both in the dream and real worlds), and a bit of what looks like mari's body. and you see some texts that describe how sunny would always want to be dreaming. but seriously, it just doesn't explain a lot of what the main story is about.
@@Dued3896 yesss, not only trailers, but also gameplay thumbnails, they also tend to spoil a lot. My way is to simply put the main poster of the game and the number of the episode, nothing more

Just realized, the name "Omori" is derived from the Japanese term Hikikomori which refers to individuals who isolate themselves (at home) away from society. this really tells a lot about Omori as a character...
Hey guys I found something cool on the pure imagination video. Hero was labeled as Hiki at 3:19. Does this mean hero is like an alternate version of omori? Or does it just mean he's the opposite of him? Maybe omori is watching a happy version of himself and his neighbors go through an adventure?? :0
no wonder Omori took 6 and a half years to make, it takes 20 hours to play it. The absolute time that was put into making the game is amazing and truly iconic
Actually even more if you wish to do side quests and all that which is pretty darn impressive I'm glad i waited years for this game. Income back to it over and over again
Omocat clearly needed the 6.5 years to make the game as good as it is, if they plan to make a sequel to omori (highly unlikely) I’d give them 8-10 years or more for them to finish it with a sensible connection to the storyline and all of it’s endings

Unironically. That has hight chances of happening. You create a story out of pure randomness, a sad one like OMORI with various endings. Or a good one with various endings. Or a mix one. The point is that you can create something and use that to create a story. Then make the paths so it makes sense and connect everything. Use symbolism and etc. Sometimes I think of stories of this type. Eather way this game is a masterpiece.
This game is so incredible. I remember when I was playing through it, I kept having to stop and wait months to get the courage and strength to continue. The well-being of some of the characters had me so afraid... I love Basil. I love him so much. I was so afraid for him. This game is amazing.
The text thoughout the video says: "Welcome to white space" "You have been living here as long as you can remember." "Anything fun is just a distraction from how much the world really... ...Sucks" "Your'e not crazy if even one person belives.. In you" "Talking to you makes me feel better.." "Too bad saving the world isnt't as easy as these games make it out to be" "The closest i've been to being happy is being asleep" "You are what you want to be.."
@@Lowzerix Maybe a mix of both? I mean, I know the origin of these quotes is from the Omoriboy blog, but if we apply it to the story now, I can see "You're not crazy if one person believes in you," "Talking to you makes me feel better," and "You are what you want to be," as coming from Basil's POV. The other quotes seem very Omori-esque, though.

Bro I was just leaving middle school when I saw this trailer for the first time. I'm a fucking sophomore in college now. Kinda worth the wait though, game's pretty good.
While playing this game, I experienced the whole emotional spectrum. Curiosity, sense of being lost, psychedelic vibes, boredom, nostalgia, happiness, annoyance, fun, and, of course, fright, misery, sorrow, despair, sense of loss, existential crisis and dread, suicidal tendencies. AND ALL OF THIS WAS IN THE PROLOGUE.
7 years ago when i watched this trailer, I never knew this.. game, would make me feel such an intense sadness. I never even understood or got interested then, Because i was not a fan of extremely scary games. But now, 7 years after the original trailer. Here i am, Crying over this Poor boy and his story.
I don't know if I'm desensitized or something, but I'm not traumatized nor sad like a lot of players. It was a good RPG, pretty fun and with a lot of cool details. It was scary at times, but that's all. I don't feel sadness and I saw the plot twist coming from miles away. I don't know

@@markiplierveryhot4012 when i first saw basil in the demo, i thought he was like Omori's brother. I thought that Something's goal was to confine Omori into White Space and that Something was starting to go after his brother too. @@minicyancrewmate2960 From the very beginning, I easily got attached to the characters, the world and the emotion battles of the game. The friendship they displayed reminded me of the good old days with my childhood friends and I related so much. Not having to worry about anything, eating snacks, having picnics, watching cartoons on a weekend, staying over at a friend's house, they literally did what me and my childhood friends did. Although heartbreaking, the truth actually amplified my feelings of sympathy for everyone when I reached the Final boss fight and Final Duet. The friendship they grew throughout the years, crumbling down because of one mistake. The music accompanying the scenes of their childhood was an absolute masterpiece. It just...hit really hard for me. It actually made me appreciate my childhood friends more. My friend didn't cry from the good ending, his explanation was that the weight of the prior revelation or the painful truth still lingered strongly on him even as the Final Duet happened. Well ngl, it IS heavy. That's how I experienced it, but I'm pretty sure the others who cried at the good ending had a different reason from mine. I guess what I'm trying to say is, it's okay to not cry at the end! We all experience and react to the game differently and it's completely normal :)

This trailer made me obsessed with the song back in 2017 but also hyped me up about the game as it got me interested. 3 years later the game released. Couldn't play it at first. In 2022 I played the game on xbox gamepass but after failing to beat ex boyfriend (since I didn't understand the game's mechanics) I stopped playing and my gamepass eventually ran out. 2024, I remember about the game and got it on the switch as it felt like the best way to play it. I understand the game mechanics easily this time and went on with my adventure. I was following the sunny route for my first playthrough and I just loved the game a lot. When I finished the game (after crying from final duet) I took some time to understand the whole masterpiece I just went through and how impact full its messages are. The game is about depression, suicide, solitude but also about friendship, acceptance, love and FORGIVENESS. Thank you omocat. Thank you so much for making this experience. The hikikomori route and all the endings are also depicted beautifully but the true ending really feels like it was meant to be the canon one and also the most meaningful of them all.

i just want to say, omori has a special place in my heart.

Omori states this on "his" blog. Preeetty sure you don't speak Japanese.
Komori means bat so jumping straight to hermit without much of a lead is telling
Foreshadowing 2020 alright
It tells you a lot about the jackass developer who can't finish the game
no wonder Omori took 6 and a half years to make, it takes 20 hours to play it. The absolute time that was put into making the game is amazing and truly iconic
Actually even more if you wish to do side quests and all that which is pretty darn impressive I'm glad i waited years for this game. Income back to it over and over again
... It took me 40 hours to finish it, and I loved every second I spend in doing it
Omocat clearly needed the 6.5 years to make the game as good as it is, if they plan to make a sequel to omori (highly unlikely) I’d give them 8-10 years or more for them to finish it with a sensible connection to the storyline and all of it’s endings

Game was worth the wait, what a roller coaster of emotions.
For real, just finished the game a few hours ago and dang, I was crying the entire time.
@@hiyochi255 can i ask why i didnt even cried at the good ending :( i feel like i have no emotions by that and seeing most people cry at it :( no offense tho
Never thought I would feel soo guilty for something a virtual character had done.
@@hiyochi255 that essay you just did sums up all I felt about the game and why I felt so sad for it, honestly I never had cried so much in my life before for a game, it felt so real , the story is just so well told to even look like it actually happened, this game puts you well in the character's perspective, you could feel as you are the character, the reveal of mari's death made you feel guilty as of that.
Now I'm gonna cry in the corner cya
I can't imagine the pain of waiting 6 years for this game.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY MARI‼️🎹💜
I feel so bad that I didn't find out about this game earlier
I mean if you did you'd had to wait 6 years.
For some reason I'd want to feel that hype
same lol, i knew omocat because of a short story (pretty boy) but i didnt know about omori until some months ago
@@eyeballtheruby I doubt it, we thought this game was a scam because of the lack of news and all
I found the trailer 6 years ago. I forgot about it tho.
This trailer is what really drew me in to OMORI,
The chaotic nature of the art and the score instantly sold me on the game!

@@Pika782 well yesnt, i made that reply back when i was relatively new to omori and barley knew the drama and what was going on.

This trailer came out when i was in elementary-middle school. I was around idk 10 or so. I'm a random 16 (almost 17) year old right now. But i've always had a weird connection to this game, comic, doodles, music, you name it. Everything seems to come to me out of nowhere and it helps that this was posted on my birthday. With 3 weeks close to a month now when the game finally came out. I played it and well..It was almost a lot of me almost scary how close the friends were and how Omori was *me*, A blank slate. It was tough for me through middle school but the song that helped me through it was this trailer song by Bo en. I listen to it all the time and i've always said to myself two things "This game will come out soon i know it." and "Everything will be better." I know i'm some random user on a random video but i wanted to express my thoughts somewhere. If people played the game and stuff, you'll understand more of what i mean. But with all that said, I hope all of you people enjoyed the game and stay safe!
I kinda wished i had a childhood like them but now realizing what could have been maybe it just made me tear up
@@kingdomsoul8968 yeah, I too wished for a happy childhood full of friends. Assuming you are still young, you still have time to live you dreams. Not in the way you want to, but in the end, it's all about you being happy. I hope both of you are doing OK rn.
@@Miguel-jm2cq yeah i do i mean i am 21 still enough to do in life but idk like that in the game seems just like the perfect childhood ( besides the depression etc)
