This is just such an incredibly creative take on what alcoholism can do to some people. She sings about the bug being at the bottom of her drink, maybe saving her from finishing the little bit left because she doesn’t need it. Like a little guardian angel. Nobody wants to drink a bug right? The old lady falling specifically on the word drinker, the way Mitski glares at her as she sings about the devils wrath given to him by god and the way the woman stuck her tongue out devilishly, and she walks into the dead end with that neon cross, maybe representing death by drinking…needless to say I’m obsessed with this. 😅 So stunning.
