5:14 it's funny you say "drunk" performance. I think we are supposed to take it as a drunk performance initially. After I watched it again I noticed at the very beginning the actress holds out her hand, almost like an invitation to *something* that we can't see. And then once Mitski starts singing, the actress jumps back as if something hits into her. And this almost pulling movement throughout seems to direct her towards the "Dead end" signs at the end of the video. So perhaps she's playing a possessed person. It would make sense, illustrating addiction that way - at least thematically. It would explain the camera movement around her face. And her wild sneer towards the end of the video when we cut away from Mitski singing about how the Devil gets the power from God. Enjoyed the video. Thanks for sharing your thoughts on it!
