Sally Stageplay (or Dramatic Fanatic) is probably the most underrated boss in the whole game. I still think she's pretty neat, but very annoying to S Rank. Not because she's hard, but because there just aren't that many projectiles to parry. If you can get all your parries straight, she's a cakewalk.
Big brain maneuver: trigger the secret phase to get extra parries from the nuns' rulers.

Dude I triggered that by accident but didn't like it just cause on 3rd phase his ghost lingers under her and getting under her helps a lot with getting free shots in
Another trick is that if you can time it well, you can jump when she throws the fan and she will throw it offscreen. It helped me when I S ranked her.
I recommend restarting until the heart is her first attack and then by the end of the first phase you should end up with 3 and in the last phase you won't have to worry about it and you can still get the S rank.

I did that too! I also tried dealing less damage on the first phase to make sure I get all my perrys, but then I couldn't finish in 2 mins, so I am still stuck in A.

It's good that the switch will just count how much health you have for gradings so if you use any heart charm, you can get hit once or twice

One other thing of note... You can tell when the kids are going to toss their baby bottles, but there's a time difference between the boy and girl on when they toss their bottles out. The girl tosses hers just as soon as she giggles while the boy tosses his out after a brief delay from giggling. So it's meant to mess up your timing on knowing when to dodge the bottles.
Great vid note if you have smoke dash witch you should you do not have to break the star you can dash through the wave. I think you should make a series where you show how to get P rank on the run and gun levels. Once again great vids
No such thing as S rank on run and gun levels. Only P rank levels are the best on run and gun.

An alternate, yet more daring, strategy I have to avoid the fans is to stay up close to her with the Spreader, then wait until she jumps up, then jump up myself, and dash in the opposite direction. This makes it so that when Sally throws the fan and it homes in on me, it ends up going OFF-SCREEN, making it so I don't have to worry about it at all.
I do this on occasion if I'm feeling ballsy!
the wave can be smoke bomb through with ease, the extra step if hitting the star is really hard and could potentially ruin the run
Before Sally points at you in the second phase, she is briefly invincible, using super at that point only counts toward super uses thus not worth it.

I love the music in this game but this one is my favorite
if you go to the secret second phase by standing on both flying baby things for 3 around 2 seconds in the first phase, the rulers thrown from the windows can sometimes be parry-able
p.s i wouldnt recommend this *therefore idk why i posted this* since you get less room in the 3rd phase to move around since the husband takes the bottom space that's under sally and has an active hitbox
this fight is so easy but I always either dont get 3 parries or am too slow cause I wait for a parry in the last part
Going for the secret phase with Ms. Chalice makes this S rank even easier for me, considering you basically skip the first phase and for me the second phase is way easier

For the wave on the last stage u don’t even need to parry the star with smoke dash.. just stay on the ground still won’t hurt u and less work

What I'm going to claim it's very debatable, but I'd really like to know your opinion.
I'm beating Expert Mode, trying the DLC out and discovering secret phases.
Hers was the key to my success in Expert and to get a higher rank, but using Miss Chalice.
I start jumping on the two angels to kill her husband, use the parries with the things nuns shoot at you and try not to lose focus in the other phases with the help of Miss's dash and double jump.
What do you think? Do you recommend this way, maybe also with Cuphead himself?
That’s actually what I was considering doing! I’m not very sure yet but I’ll try it out with both cuphead and ms chalice and I’ll tell ya
I just defeated her!! It was definitely much more easier with chalice. I started by using cuphead and using the divine relic but that took me so many tries due to me not finishing in time. Chalice only took me three tries to get an S. I recommend using crackshot and the roundabout. Using chalices double jump you can jump above her when she corners you and it’s just more easier for me to choose chalice. Goodluck :)
Ps. I forgot to mention I used her second super art with the shield pal. I used it because I usually take damage from the second phase so before the second phase starts I already have her second super art ready and I don’t have to worry about my health at all. So I recommend using super 2 or 3

Did you know that you can get 2 mins when your s ranking but it has to be less then 10 seconds
sally stageplay is harder than the devil.
Problem. You cant have chaser, spread, and roundabout. You can o ly carry 2 at a time

Actually to S Rank it has to be under 2:10 NOT 2 minutes cause on 3 different bosses I got 2:02 and got S
Yeah it also tricky because if you make it exactly on 2:10 it won't give you S rank (ik because I got 2:10 on Mortimer freeze and it didn't give it to me😭) so when they say under 2:10 they really mean under

just a little tip for yall watching this after the dlc (which is everyone that sees this)
when playing ms chalice in the 1st phase the double jump can let you get on the baby things that can trigger the secret phase thingy without the parry needed and when done right can pretty much skip the whole first phase
and it helps with parries bc in the secret phase 2 the nuns can through pink crosses
it makes the 3rd phase harder though so yeah just wanted to share

I love these videos. I am mostly playing on "Regular" mode just to get the rest of the achievements before the DLC comes. Not an easy feat to do.

you can't damage sally's second phase until she starts her first attack, so you'd waste your super if you did it immediately
I love it how Sally tries to show the fight as part of the stageplay and everyone went on it until she got seriously injured in the end.
This has to be the most annoying boss to S rank because of the random parry’s in the last fase
Yea those parries always get in the way of s ranking bc if u try to get 3 parries in the 1st phase (for me) the time always runs out
for anyone here after dlc. just use spread and crackshot. for the charm keep smoke bomb OR divine relic. both work but divine relic is just better if you are used to constant weapon swaping :)

I know that people say that chaser is for noobs or whatever but seriously, it can overall do more damage than other weapons in certain phases. If the boss is constantly moving, you’ll do more damage with the chaser rather that if you tried to constantly line up you roundabout (or whatever) shots, because very little of them will hit.

3:22 Sally’s Fiancé returns to life as a Deity and can shoot a Fire ball thingy, phase 4 after that is the same
This video doesn't make sense, how can you can switch among 3 different weapons: spread, roundabout and chaser within one round of game

Ms chalice is definitely preferred, since she has a built in invincible move, and the double jump and better horizontal parrying.
for some reason this boss gave me a lot of trouble, but definitely easier than hilda berg

Btw, you dont need to parry the star to avoid the tidal wave, you can just dash through the top of it
Correct! I just like parrying it to get it out of the way but you can just dash through with smoke bomb
Or better yet, you can actually smoke-bomb through the wave prop even while you're standing still. It'll take some time to know when to dash left through the wave towards Sally. But that's one way I got the S-rank on this.
