Thank you for sharing! ! Podgorica is a charming, quiet city. Your video proves that. Just for information: the name of the city during the Yugoslavia period was Titograd.
You guys are on fire. One of the best yet. Visited Kotor on a cruise ship last year. Sailing out was an absolute travel must. And from what we could see the country looked amazing. We plan to return and spend some time. Great vid.
That bridge on 08:00 its not from Ottoman ages, its from Roman ages. But that fortress on top are from Ottomans. And You say its quiet, its because of hot weather and vacations.
I cannot wait to go. All the stories from my Serbian friends sounds like a fantastic place. Especially since its only an hour from Belgrade. Yall should do a roadtrip in Muerica from Key West and all the way up the coast to Maine... You'll have a blast.. And with all your walking get some Russell Moccasins handmade there...
I went there. It was super quiet and I literally saw no one on the streets during the day. However at night, there were two streets, that were rammed with bars and people. Quite the contrast.
Wow nice and beautiful adventures again beautiful scenery that’s country so beautiful nice and delicious foods and wow what a beautiful church thank you for showing us take care and always be safe 🥰🥰🥰⭐️⭐️⭐️👍👍👍
The city is so quiet because most of the approximately 600,000 people work in the tourist resorts (Budva, Tivat, Herceg Novi, Ulcinj etc.) and 5% (official) are in the rest of Europe, also work there, have a second home and some also collect social benefits. It would be nice if Kotor would be so quiet. This Must-See place is overcrowded like Dubrovnik in Croatia.
Hmmm, Podgorica metro area got 250 000 people. I am pretty sure some random city of 20 000 people in any other country of Europe will be waaaay more boring. Most boring capital city of Europe? Don't know. Maybe. I think it's MUCH better than capitals od Kosovo, Moldova, etc. Also it's way richer. Average monthly net salary in Podgorica is getting close to 1000 euros now. Most boring city of Europe? There's 1000 cities all around the Europe that are tiny compared to Podgorica. Places with 10 000, 15 000, 20 000, 25 000, 30 000 people. And even places with 100 000 people are MUCH smaller than Podgorica. Call me crazy but somehow i don't think they are all oh so very interesting. My parents moved to Podgorica(Titograd) from the mountain city in northern Montenegro, back in the 1970s. It's a city of only 30 000 people. And like a horror movie. No jobs, destroyed old communist factories, nothing. People in other parts of Montenegro are literally selling everything just to move to Podgorica. Podgorica got 6 rivers and the biggest lake of the southeastern Europe and just north of Podgorica is one of the deepest canyons of Europe with third highest motorway bridge of Europe. You just need to know the right places and it won't be boring for sure. Adriatic coastline is only 45 minute drive from Podgorica. So that's close too. Summers in Podgorica are almost as hot as Sevilla so most of the citizens of Podgorica are either at the Adriatic coastline or at the cool Montenegrin mountains. Also during the hottest parts of the summer days it's siesta time. Everyone is under the AC or some really strong fans.
Being from Croatia, you were recommended to me because of your Croatia series. I like your style, watched all those Croatia videos, but didn't subscribe yet. Well, this video has finally turned me around, you managed to make Podgorica interesting 😁😂 But seriously, I rarely subscribe to any new channels, it's just impossible to keep up with everything. But both of you are cool personalities, interesting to watch, you respect local customs, you try to learn local stuff and pronounce names and words correctly, you are not uninformed in your videos, so yeah, looks like I'm here to stay 😁 Cheers or should I say živjeli 🍻🙃
Make some videos on Croatia. Problem with the Balkans to visitors is we only see what Westerns or Random Russians show. Until I went to Serbia and Macedonia myself it was just theory. Trust me people need see the Balkans from your perspective. Maybe talk MIACH and TIA into joinin you lol...
That church wow wow wow right up my street , this is us just mooching taking in different types of cities and cultures , food beers and a soda water with lime for Matt ? What’s happened to the lad lol . Brilliant video and Thankyou x 👍
Harriet and I were there for two many years ago. I Very interesting country. I think what Montenegro needs is an identity . It needs to identify with someone or something. A movie you might check out if it's available on Netflix or Amazon Prime is called " Montenegro " starring Susan Anpach. A little insight into a Yugoslavian Bohemian lifestyle. Hope you enjoyed you time there. Sending you much love❤❤ from our current location at St. Charles (The Chesapeake Bay) Delaware -East side Harriet, Jim and Yuki
Hello. Very good video. I suggest you visit the city of Nikšić, which is the second largest in Montenegro and the Ostrog monastery, which is close to Nikšić and is beautiful. I hope that after Montenegro you will return to Serbia and visit places you didn't last time.
There wasn't much going on when we visited, a national holiday and hardly any tourists (even in July 22). But not boring! Easy place to relax with cheap food and drink around the square and as you did, catch up on work. My only issue was the football shop at the Stadium was never open despite its hours posted on the door and online. Didn't get my souvenir sports top in Montenegro.
Guys, I see that you are obsessed with the Balkans but you are looking for "Balakns" in the wrong places. You have to go to southern Serbia. 1st you have to visit Guča festival 2nd you have to visit Roštiljada in Leskovac for famous Leskovački roštilj (Leskovac grilled food)
That church looks more like a bunker. I'm amazed the atheistic communists even allowed it to be built in the first place. the Catholic Church was a loud critic of communism.
What does this have to do with communism? This is about an architectural era called modernism. Also, do you really believe that communists would build churches? 😂😂😂 Educate yourself! Yugoslavia was a socialist federation, not a communist one.
I think that Moldova claims the title of worlds most boring capital...but Podgorica looks like a close second!!!! That lets Canberra and Kosovo off the hook then....been to both and dispute that!!!! As Dorothy Parker once wrote: ' ...and when he got there, there was no There there.' !!!!!!!
Have to say it was a nice spot when I went there but honestly? It's probably the ugliest place in the country.... hit up Budva or Kotor to see the real beauty and what montenegro has to offer 😊

Perfect decision, travel with car, already done I guess. You're always stuck with "average" food, thinking it's the best food ever, you're scratching surface there in Balkans. Maybe you are hitting 30-40% of what Balkan has to offer in terms of good food. But you can go all the way up to 90%. It's whole another world. But of course, it's hard for you to know. ua-cam.com/video/J9bth7nxGww/v-deo.html ua-cam.com/video/ERdPMgeunSs/v-deo.html - well this last one you probably won't like hahahha.
@@dabbleandtravel You're welcome. I have list of maybe 150 best restaurants in Balkans (mostly Serbia, Bosnia and some Croatia and Macedonia). They are hitting between 60% and 90% best of everything Balkan has to offer. But it would be massive weight gain haha
I realised my comment maybe sounded misleading. I liked the general vibe, however my friend and I received some strange looks and maybe comments. I want to clarify that i am against all types of racism and bigotry, therefore that was a big negative while i was there.
Podgorica is the MOST boring town. Very unfriendly people, who have cery bad behavior in traffic. A lot of garbage everywhere. Just in centre not. Also working and living here is hard. So I'll go back home as soon as possible. Podgorica, really nothin' special.

Podgorica can't be boring just due to the fact that in 40min you reach the coast :)
So true!!!
@@dabbleandtravel Eager to see your impressions of Budva and the rest. I love Budva but don't miss Herceg Novi, Perast, the Boka Bay ❤

Looks like a quiet sleepy hamlet but in a good way. A place you'd want to live maybe more then visit. Certainly looks relaxed.
