I lived in Germany for 7 years I live in the USA now for 24 years, but honesty, the best time of my life was when I lived in Sarajevo. Even now, when I visit Sarajevo, I get this positive energy and happiness I can't explain.
So far, Bosnia's been my favourite holiday destination this year! Loved every bit of it and definitely coming back again. The hospitality of the locals is just amazing!
@user-cv5hl4iy6s , and cheap to visit as well! Hotels, Airbnb, and all other accommodations are cheaper than in most other European countries, and so is the food. The food alone is worth vising! 😋
@jordanhunt4867 , if you're a history nut, you'll love it! There is a whole lot more than just the Ottoman and Austrohungarian stuff. Roman, Illyrian, and other ancient sites are all over the place as well, especially in Hercegovina region, where they're better preserved due to the milder climate. There are some kind of ancient remains on pretty much every hill top there. I highly recommend visiting the town of Stolac and exploring the nearby remains, like the ancient megalithic city called Daorson.
Thank you so much for this video, I was born in Bosnia and fled in 1992 to Germany with my family. Haven't been in Sarajevo for ages so it feels like visiting for the first time again, so your awesome video will be probably watched more than once when I plan my stay in late September/early October. Thanks guys, for the promotion of our city and country..I'm very glad at the same time that you liked Sarajevo at first sight..Honestly, it's only a small part of what Sarajevo has going on and you might find it interesting..You really should more time to visit many restaurants, places that can contribute to a nicer atmosphere and make you feel very satisfied in our city. Also, how many interesting and beautiful places there are throughout our country. Which is not too big and not too small... and in one place you can realistically find the sea, several lakes, several rivers, mountains, a waterfall (one of the highest in Europe), four seasons, and much, much more. both in summer and winter we have many beautiful ponies that can enchant you and give you beautiful vibes. In general, Sarajians and Bosnians are very open-minded and good-natured people for the most part. They want to help, and the people are nice-natured..Smiling, smiling and accepting. Everyone is welcome in Sarajevo. Even if our political situation were better, honestly, then we could really feel in the best way what the Bosnian people are like. Thank you once again and welcome to Bosnia, Sarajevo..
You guys deserve 10,000,000 views on every single one of your videos or more, very respectful people you guys are doesn't matter where you go, and also I like when you always try to buy the football shirt from the country you visit, amazing really, keep up the good work thank you, thank you.
Great to see that you guys really enjoyed your time there. I spend right there where you were visiting from 1992-1995, during a war period. That was the worst and best time in my life till this day. I am visiting those spots every single year a minimum twice every year my old comrades and taking care of our fallen-their cemeteries, sick or homeless mates.
@@dabbleandtravel It was actually wrong! Find some local people who can show you how to drink Bosnian coffee. Sorry, but I've been drinking it for 57 years, I know where you made the mistake...🤔I pay for the next round, drinking course included 🤗😉
So glad you went here it’s high on my list of places to visit. Also hoping to see footage of the abandoned Olympic Park. It’s meant to be really something special.
Deffo worth going up/down in the cable car. Not much remains of the bobsleigh area, but lots of hiking trails, view over the city and picnic spots so choose a nice day to make a full relaxing day of it as the locals do. When I was there the food offering at the top (restaurant and burger type vans) wasn't great so take a delicious picnic with you.
@@dabbleandtravel Obviously you could have gotten a more expensive jersey if you wanted one but we don't have a designated shop for that in the town anymore so you would have had to have gotten it online. 40 KM is a fairly regular price for a fake national team jersey (as in unofficial).
It makes a pleasant change to have been somewhere before you guys! I went to Sarajevo earlier this year. I'd heard multiple times from fellow travellers saying it was their favourite place and I soon understood why. It's laid back, great food and drink (pub and bar culture), full of history. I'd suggest a walking tour rather than a museum. A couple of other things worth mentioning: English is spoken quite well compared to many countries, and you'll soon discover that smoking is widespread in the bars and restaurants (which may be a warning or an enticement.) People are very easy to engage with and I was more hanging out with locals than being a tourist within a week. The Bosnian Mark is pegged on the €uro at €0.511, so €1 should get you 2 BAM. £1 slightly more (at the time of writing!) I'm sure you guys do this... categorise places according to your likelihood of returning.... I know that I'll return there. Met some great folks and had a nice time. Definitely returning. Can't wait to see where else you go to. Mostar no doubt. Tourist mayhem as you've probably discovered by now.
