Marian, I am older, but I can tell you it is so much harder for working moms. I had to work when my baby was small. I didn’t really have other mom friends. That never changed. Stay at home moms and working moms have totally different lives.

Thank you so much for sharing this. I think that it is important to establish friendships with people no matter who you are because us human beings are social creatures. On Father's Day this year and this month, I went out with a great friend of mine that I mentioned about before in this channel who was born and raised Jewish then later on life became Catholic. Being able to interact with him made me feel really well since he is such a great friend. I found the things that you said in this video therapeutic for me today. I really enjoy your awesome content and you look more beautiful than ever! You are amazing Marion! ❤

My sister has 2 boys and a 3rd one on the way. We met up with her once at a mommy and me exercise class. They were running around the mall area and everything. She is so huge though. I can't even imagine if she had a vaginal birth. She's having her 3rd C-section. We got lunch. I'm proud of her and her family joining a Methodist church. I really wanted them to become Christian so I could talk to my nephews about God. Baby shower is tomorrow.

I had one of my children in 1979 and the rest in the 1980’s. I am so happy there was no social media!!!! I was very fortunate that I had a friend who had a baby around the same time as my first baby. Also, my sister had a baby 7 months before me. But what helped me the most was taking child development in senior year in high school and college. I also subscribed to Parents magazine. There was a good book I got called the Well Baby.
But what I noticed and was disappointed in was how a friend treated their child . When my friend let her child not treat my child right I had a big problem with that. I know everyone does their own parenting style but that aspect of friendship was difficult for me.

@@MyJewishMommyLife I know!!! What gets to me too is that these days women not all but a lot of women don’t take preparation for childbirth. When I had my first they did some kinds of medication management for moms who opted out of natural childbirth but not the epidurals that are so popular today. My first baby I took LaMaze and not only was it helpful going through labor it also prepared me for various things that could happen during labor. I swear almost everything my teacher taught us about that could go wrong went wrong with me. I felt that if I had no idea that anything that urgently happened and I had no idea about what was happening I would have been a wreck. Not only do we have UA-cam for education in a lot of subject matter we also still have prepared childbirth so women can expect the unexpected if heaven forbid it happens. It almost should be a prerequisite to having a baby even if the mom to be thinks she won’t use it. At least she can better understand terminology and stages of her labor. That’s just my opinion.

Marion did a fantastic series of videos before and after her third son was born about what to expect both before and after childbirth. Most of her shared content was about the postpartum period, truly a valuable resource. I remember calling women in my family who were of childbearing age and recommended Marion's videos on that topic to them. I referred to them as a public service.

It is harder to make friends as an adult. I'm 44. I have friends in the building, and I'm in a choir with a lot of friends.

Not in therapy, but certainly not against it. If you can find one who you can connect with, one who respects your values, go for it. Yes, taking the first step is important at times in friendship. No one is perfect, and things I tend to be sensitive to , or feel are important just may not be so with her. I was blessed to always have kids our age in our neighborhood, plus a large family. Instant friends as a child, now friends for my kids. ❤

Also, third comment. But I have a mental illness and would not want to pass it on to if I had a kid. And I could not handle the stress of raising a kid. It's just so interesting that my Patriarchal blessing kept saying I would raise a lot of kids and have a big posterity or whatever.

Friendships have become dramatically more difficult to develop and maintain since about 2015 because of the vicious political climate followed by the upheaval of Covid.

I have been with Better Help for about 3 years. My therapist is great. I am a 70 yr old expat living in Ecuador and I have found making new friends at this age can be challenging. I am a widow, which has its own complications. Thankfully my therapist has given me tools to deal with them. Love your channel. Have a great week.
