you mean when radovid blinded philippa? that was mercy, She murdered King Vizimir The Just of Redenia, he would even give her a trial, the eye gouging was just payback for her murder of the king.
they ruined his character and the franchise, just for the sake of cutting costs. If your choices here would've mattered, you could've had like 2 different storylines in which sorceresses wouldn't be hunted down and killed in Witcher 3. But it was easier to make one story and fuck your other choices. Like letting Henselth live. I tried another save where I let him live and he wins the battle, yet Radovid betrays his oldest ally and conquers his lands regardless. I love the game still but it's such a cheap ripoff, they wasted time on making it for consoles, instead of just making it good and then port it to consoles.
*Cioby* This is on the same level as people that complained that every decision in ME1 and 2 should have made a difference in ME3. It's a really stupid thing to expect.
That is because Geralt is not a noble or king. He is just a monster hunter, an equivalent to an exterminator at best in this world. He can't change world events/ politics or at least not on a major level.
Can't believe it, Radovid was right, that's exactly what happened. Nilfgaard took advantage of divided Temeria. Radovid seems so sane, 6 months were enough to make him into a madman?
He has never been completly insane, but he is a dangerous guy. Shows you a smile and stabs you in the back. Shown here,he got his soldiers hidden if the reunion didnt go as he wanted and with Geralt, when he wanted to kill him after having no more use for him
TW3 could've fleshed out Radovid's descend a bit better but Radovid was already a very volatile guy to me. As far as 6 months time to descend into madness, yes that is believable and not hard at all to achieve. If you have or know someone who has some sort of mental illness you'd know that shit can spiral into some crazy stuff in a matter of weeks, especially if you and everyone else around you ignore it or ignorant to it. With Radovids megalomanic tendencies and all that I wouldn't be surprised the guy got more paranoid after TW2 which only festered.
I love how all this becomes irrelevant in Witcher 3. But hey, at least peasants can play it on consoles too. Who cares about our previous games that we finished several times.
This one scene is the backbone of all the crazy shit that goes in witcher 3. Looking at witcher 2 after finishing witcher 3 and reading some books is way different than my first playthrough. Damn, feels good to know politics and names. Like when Roche introduces himself as Emhyr var Emreis, spice merchant. I nearly died from laughter.
I choose to kill him because he is threat to Yen, Triss and other sorceress like Margarita who imprisoned. And he betray Geralt after he got information about Philippa.
@@playhard0003 To be fair to him, Radovid betrays Geralt because he is really cunning. He felt something was off just had no proof, but Geralt was part of a conspiracy to kill him if you do that quest. Geralt totally deserved to be executed for that.

Witcher 3 is more focused to Ciri and saving her from the Wild Hunt while Witcher 2 focused on mysterious plots, assassinates, politics, battles and setting the stage for the Invasion of Nilfgard. But W3 with side missions, open world, musics, graphics, gameplay, character developments, atmosphere and with greatest Dlc s its beating the W2. They both are great games even today
Without Henselt the North would only have Radovid as a ruler who is also a monster himself, just as any person in such a position of power would become. The great thing about the North is its balance of powers. The best compromise, in my opinion, is to spare Henselt and give Anais to Natalis so that Temeria, Redania, and Kaedwen would divide the power of the North.
Richard Shiflett well actually in witcher 3 Radovid attacks his ally Henselt and kills him and most if his armies. It doesn't matter whether you let Henselt live or die.
So an assassin makes wild claims at the point of a blade, and they immediately act on them to violently try to seize the mages? Hell if I were a mage I'd call a dragon to help me out of the pickle as well.
A trial was supposed to happen to investigate the validity of the claims. But obviously when you bring an enslaved dragon to burn your would be accusers, people will generally think you are guilty.
