Henry, I ordered a 52" Shrew Classic Hunter II last Wednesday. I contacted Tim Cosgrove and he text several pictures of the bows he had in stock. I ended up getting the Makassar 52" in 45# draw. It arrived at my house in 3 days!! Outstanding service!! I have shot it several times and did a short review on it on my youtube channel. I am getting some really good groups and it is truly a work of art. The thing about this bow that intrigued me is the short 52" length. Here in Virginia we mainly hunt out of treestands and this bow is perfect for that. I hopefully will be doing some live hunt videos on my youtube channel in a few weeks if I score! I recently purchased a used Bodnik Classic Hunter II. It is 54", 45#@28". It is a really awesome bow! I love the grip because it just feels so natural in my hand. Draws so smooth that I'm seriously considering a custom take-down in 50#. I might even go for a 50". :>)

Beautiful bow! I recently purchased a 60" Quick Stick, which is another beautiful Bodnick bow. I am though, having a problem getting the brace height to 7 1/4 which is the recommended brace height. I have turned the string back as far as I think I can and can only get it down to 7 1/2 inches. What would be your recommendation?

Think bowlength was not right.
Just by next time a 58“ (stringlength) Whisper String.
Thanks for getting back to me. The string has gradually stretched and all seems to be good.
My 56in ch2 is the best performing bow I have. Had had many of the top end bows on the market and my 30 inch draw just didn't jive with most of their 58+in models. I like a short bow for close quarters on the ground whitetail hunting. Henry Bodnik and Ron la Claire have nailed these bows down. If anyone is on the fence...do yourself the favor and go shrew.

I've always wanted a Shrew Bow ever since I learned about Ron LaClair, hope to get one some day. Either than or a Javaman Elkheart. All comes down to price vs. quality. In an ideal world i'd have both.

Having had the elkheart...do yourself the favor and go shrew. Gregg builds a nice bow but these new shrews are just a hair better shooting. Ive had several of the high end hybrids and my shrew out performs them all.

@@sigmanarchery54 I had contacted Tim Cosgrove at Kustom King and he texted detailed pics of several bows he had in stock. I originally wanted the Siberian tiger model as well, but after seeing the Makassar model, I went with that. He also had one with green limbs that I really liked, but the dark walnut color of the Makassar model is what I liked best. It actually has some dark green built into the riser. Tim will also special order one, but you will have to wait for it. I wanted to get one he had in stock so I could hunt with it this season. Best Regards, Jay
