Yeah I became a Carpenter Brut fan about a year ago and have enjoyed the music since. I immediately downloaded Blood Machines and came to watch this video because of Corridor :D .
Having watched it way too many times: The masked rider uses the souls of special women to bond with as his 'vehicle' - when he senses that a woman with a 'car soul' is in danger of being corrupted, he drives out to save her, even though this means he'll lose the soul of his current car. But you can see when the old soul takes his hands that she's okay with this - because the new car soul should not be turned into something evil. The soul of his current car is wounded in the battle, and in order to keep his car intact and to save the new girl from future danger, he bonds with her at the engine of the rose-cross. The bad guys are motivated by jealousy and lust - they too want a car with a soul - but since there is only one masked rider, they choose to corrupt her spirit by drowning her in the exhaust of their cars - and you can see, it actually starts to work. But just the ENCOUNTER with the masked rider fully awakens her soul, and the conversion to evil is prevented. They chase him with the hopes of killing his car before he can bond with the new soul - the result of which is currently unknown, but one could infer that if the old soul died before the new one was bonded, that the masked rider might also die/be far more vulnerable. And if this were a movie, I would never stop watching it.
I know! I found this out after - and it looks like some of my ideas might be correct - that the thing that people think is a rogue AI is actually a soul. I ccan't WAIT!

After watching this and Blood Machines, anyone feels like we need to see more stuff produced by Carpenter Brut and Seth Ickerman? This is peak retrowave/cyberpunk aesthetic
yeah, without France you would not have Heavy metal magazines which is an adaptation of the French version named Metal hurlant, and by the fact, did not have the license alien since the xenomorph in the film has been designated by Geiger who was also working on the French version.
I love coming back to this video. Seriously it gives me goosebumps everytime I see it as if it were the first time all over again. Reminds me of being a kid again and just getting high on pure adrenaline rush of just all of the things that made growing up in the 80s so badass! The world needs more of this.
The fact that this music video alone inspired an entire movie as a sequel (Blood Machines) is enough to classify this song as legendary. Big props to both Seth and Carpenter Brut on this one.
@@stephenburr9836 The theory would be great if it hadn't been explained that it was a sequel to the music video by seth ickerman himself. What's more tragic however, is that seth said that it will be his final installment in the carpenter brut anthology.
@@wayfa13 I'd bet that there are a dozen artists that you would pick as your favourite if you knew that they existed. They could make the best possible song (in your opinion) and you wouldn't even know it. Just because you're good doesn't always mean you get famous

Hope you enjoy your newly discovered music genre
The musical density of this song is mind blowing, I didn't know there was a whole genre of modern synthwave inspired by john carpenter's work. The textures, note selection, chord changes, intensity. I've never heard anything like this.
Your comment struck a cord in me. It's exactly what you said, the whole of it. I imagine some of his pieces with a full symphonic orchestra (at the top of the list Division Ruine) and I think to myself "if only".
I think the woman has been split in two, what remains of her good side is in the spaceship (upright cross at beginning) and her evil side is trapped. When her evil side is freed by the gas mask man, it takes over and the ship is an inverted cross at the end.
Watch Blood Machines, Seth Ikerman film sorta supposed to be the sequel? I'd like to say it explains some things but I was none the wiser really. Just pretty ladies, boobs, weirdness and great music in space.
The aesthetic and cinematography and effects of this video are absolutely stunning. If I could take and edit one STILL photo so that it looked as cool as this I'd be amazed, and they managed to make an entire video of it, and in such high quality. Really impressive.
plus the music. I once spent all day making a synth preset that sounded (nearly) as beefy and badass as any one of Brut's syths. I cant imagine then putting together a whole song
Guy with the gas mask is the pilot of the cross-like spaceship. The girl in the beginning standing next to him represents the ship itself. He is piloting the ship by dancing with her.
it is a world were machines have spirit incarnated by girls with reversed cross on the front. The spirit girl in red is prisoner of the bad guy. The girl in white dress is the spirit of the car , and the masked person drive the car by dancing with her for releasing the captured girl. Then they escape from the bad guys by returning into the space ship, and the captive girl is teleported inside the ship.
I get it, I too would have appreciated seductive dancers and a fancy car that just got me there on my way to school ...and back and I would absolutely tell my grandchildren about this IF I HAD ANY
You know it's legendary when you can't stop listening to the song and every frame of the music video can be a wallpaper

God I wish this was a full-length movie, I would absolutely watch it
Good news for you friend, they made this music video into a 3-part miniseries called "Blood Machines".
@@dragonbalde43 That's correct.
This is the first in a short film series.
The music, the production value, the sheer amazingness of this video. It cannot be denied. Not even seven years later. Still an amazing track and video!
This song makes me cry every time I listen to it, this is the best and most perfect synthwave I know. love the album since day 1.
I grew a mullet just watching this
Me too. And I'm bald.
My sideburns came back too!
Nah this song gives you a cool mowhawk.
You gotta listen to Kavinsky to get your mullet fix.
@@sandakureva was more a reference to Dr.Disrespect to the style of the song.
Bad guy's headbob at 1:30 gets me every time
1:20-1:45.That woman's name is Joelle Berckmans.She is French actress,and model,of Brazilian decent.
I want a movie out of this universe.

Wow I'm glad I commented! Didn't know about this, will back asap! Thanks Esa!
Was going to comment the same thing. Thanks for the link Esa, that project looks INSANE.
I can't even believe that this masterpiece has only ~4 millions of views. It's really unfair. This video deserves at least ten times more of attention =/.
After watching this and Blood Machines, anyone feels like we need to see more stuff produced by Carpenter Brut and Seth Ickerman? This is peak retrowave/cyberpunk aesthetic
I know. It's like that 80's movie that got banned for being too futuristic when you were a kid and all you saw was the preview.
@@kwayneg7 totally agree 😁
And this, ladies, is why you should never let your man put you in a laser cage.
Thank you, that is invaluable advice. 😅
:D
I love that lady in video! Who is that beauty?
Possibly the best music video in the history of music videos.
couldn't agree more..
It's all down-hill from herein on........
Ah France, you've given us so many beautiful things
Literally a lie
yeah, without France you would not have Heavy metal magazines which is an adaptation of the French version named Metal hurlant, and by the fact, did not have the license alien since the xenomorph in the film has been designated by Geiger who was also working on the French version.
Best synthwave music video I have ever seen!
Dark Synth = 👌
Corridor brought my ass here. Wish i found it earlier.
link to the corridor video?
This is the best music video I have ever seen... That is a bold statement, and I stand by it.
Theory: Turbo Killer is actually a sequel to Blood Machines, not the other way around.
@@stephenburr9836 The theory would be great if it hadn't been explained that it was a sequel to the music video by seth ickerman himself. What's more tragic however, is that seth said that it will be his final installment in the carpenter brut anthology.
@@TheEternalHellwalker Sure. I'm just having some fun with a bit of MatPat-esque 'Film Theory' contrarian take.
Possibly the best music video I've ever seen in my life
Try gunship-fly for your life
This masterpiece should have more views...
stfu
yeiro999 zzzzzzzz
bruh carpenter brut needs WAY more recognition
like I don't get why people say this.... If he is that good, he'll get the recognition in time vOv
@@wayfa13 I'd bet that there are a dozen artists that you would pick as your favourite if you knew that they existed. They could make the best possible song (in your opinion) and you wouldn't even know it. Just because you're good doesn't always mean you get famous
@@Palladium001 most famous artist are pretty trash ngl cough* drake cough*
I've been coming back to this song for years. Here I am again.
Likewise!
the same!
I want a full movie with these kinds of visuals.

It's coming, as long as it gets enough funding- vimeo.com/197876987

rookie numbers
The musical density of this song is mind blowing, I didn't know there was a whole genre of modern synthwave inspired by john carpenter's work.
The textures, note selection, chord changes, intensity. I've never heard anything like this.
Your comment struck a cord in me. It's exactly what you said, the whole of it. I imagine some of his pieces with a full symphonic orchestra (at the top of the list Division Ruine) and I think to myself "if only".
This video still blows me away, every time! I have no clue what the meaning is but i still love it!
YOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO WHY HAVEN'T I FOUND THIS UNTIL NOW I HAD GOOSEBUMPS FOR A SOLID 4 MINUTES FUCK THIS IS GOOD SHIT
i know! XD
Yes! it is!
Welcome to the carpenter brut cult
To the one Henchman who was smart enough to stop before the jump, hats off.
He's the new boss.
5 years. Happy birthday Turbo Killer 💜
I don’t know what the hell is going on but I fucking LOVE IT
watch Blood Machines on Shudder. it's Carpenter Brut's movie and this was the video that started it.
I have no idea what's happening in this video but I like it. I like it a lot.
How my grandfather describes his journey to school:
I get it, I too would have appreciated seductive dancers and a fancy car that just got me there on my way to school
...and back
and I would absolutely tell my grandchildren about this
IF I HAD ANY
Everytime I step into my old SAAB Turbo and set this on the radio, both of us start smiling.
Nice! I used to have a 900S!
I like seeing the Death Korps of Krieg getting some screen time.
at long last
Haha love this reference!
Came back to watch this 7 years after was done. Still F***** good.
This was 7 years ago,so epic
