I'm over a week late, 4.3 was supposed to release last week already and got pushed back, and I have only ticked off MACHIN3tools and DECALmachine now. Although it looks like the others don't need anything, or very little work, but I haven't had the time to really look into it. :) Thanks for your support, glad my efforts are appreciated for sure.
One of the best addon I have used! Thanks for designing such an amazing addon. I have a question that might seem a bit basic. After installing version 2.13 on Blender 4.3, I noticed that when pressing D to open the pie menu, none of the icons or buttons are clickable. (I have already click the update all button and the assets icon shows in the pie menu). I feel like I must be missing some key information. Has anyone encountered a similar issue? Thanks!
For some reason you are holding the D key now, which never worked, not in DM nor in any other Blender pie menu. This is covered within the first few seconds of the pie menu video in the docs: machin3.io/DECALmachine/docs/pie_menu/
No, it's a bit concerning to me now 😅 Wondering if it's for all others like this too. I can clearly see the video is embedded on BM, but I can't see the mail as it arrives for users of course.
@@MACHIN3 The mail I received from BM did not show the embed (I'm on Thunderbird 128.4.3). Just a blank space. It does have the embed code in the source though. I gave permission to download content. I was told by front end devs that emails are a PITA for formatting and embeds . That was some years ago but I suspect not much changed. Not a big deal for me, I tend to look for "whats new" content by browsing and most of the time I don't look past the subject anyway . But it might be safer to make these videos a link instead of an embed. Edit: It does not show on Outlook mobile (android) either.
So, to take it into Painter you would have to bake decals. But that was never really the intention, and baking decals has major flaws - such as losing the resolution benefits dedicated decal textures offer. There has also been a Blender issue for the past 5 years, that to this date remains unresolved despite it being reported and confirmed. That said you could take a decal atlas into Painter too, but that would be fairly limited as every decal of a kind would end up looking the same (due to sharing of UVs. Really, DM was built to take decals in to a deferred rendering pipeline. Please see machin3.io/DECALmachine/docs/export_introduction/ for the 3 available export options.
It's great update! Really love it! Btw may I ask about your gizmo and origin axises in viewport? How did you setup them? I like it and want to make the same for myself.
4.3 ships and you update right away... If only other devs were as fast as you 🏆

Hi Machine, do we get access to this file you are playing with in video?
I have it on patreon for Core tier an up. www.patreon.com/posts/drone-on-blend-115715095
Can be bought individually too.
@@MACHIN3 thank you, I'll check it out 😊👌

@@MACHIN3 Thanks man! Can't believe it's a change of my habit!
Very nice update! (btw, you forgot to include the video in the e-mail)
Hm, I just checked, it's embedded in the gumroad post/email and the BM one too. But thanks, mate.
@@MACHIN3 It's just an empty white line in the BM email for me. Must be something weird. Np mate.

@@MACHIN3 Ahh, it's probably a fluke. If it happens again I'll let you know.

i love your work! i got a question, how to i export decals from blender to Substance Painter?

@MACHIN3 I see thanks for telling me! 😁
Thanks for understanding, and for your support, much appreciated :)

What gizmos do you mean? There aren't any except on the atlas. For origin and/or cursor axes I use the MACHIN3tools Shading pie.
@@MACHIN3 Thank you! Didn't know about that feature in the shading pie.
Amazing work as always, MACHIN3. (Offtopic but is that your M3 theme or a different one?)
Still the M3 theme, hasn't changed :)
