I'm so lucky my partner and I are living in a two bedroom flat with only two wardrobes to store all our clothes, towels, bed linen and even some home decor. Knowing that we have only this amount of space available keeps me motivated to declutter regularly and not make any unnecessary purchases that would take up valuable space. Living in a big home definitely provides more comfort and is ideal for a larger family, but it also requires much more of people's time and careful consideration so as not to end up with basements, attics and garages that are ready to explode from all the clutter and buried items. Keep up the good work Sophia, you have come such a long way!!!
💐 We all struggle constantly with organizing and re- organizing on different levels no matter how organized we are. I admire the fact that you never give up. I heard the frustration in your voice and saw your eyes when you were referring to all the responsibilities you are juggling! You are doing SO SO much!! Most of us just would not have the stamina to do what you do!!! You are doing a great job no matter how discouraged you feel! We admire you!❤️❤️❤️🌹🪻
Love how you and Scott work well together! The only way I clean out my three car garage once a year is to completely empty it. Place all items on the driveway and organize in four quadrants: Keep, Donate, Sell and Trash. In the meantime, sweep and hose down garage floor, wash windows and remove cobwebs. My husband and kids never helped me which was fine because I work very well on my own. (I was lucky as garage is heated during fall and winter and air conditioned during spring and summer.)
Scott is hilarious. I too have a cardboard box hoarding problem. My son and daughter in law live in Japan and I save boxes to mail things to them. I have gotten rid of some boxes but I really want to thin them out again. Decluttering is never ending. Great job Sophia and Scott.
How could anyone not love Scott? He is the best! I love his personality( he actually has one, unlike the person making the ridiculous comments). Nice work guys!
I think the hubby is right. That wire thing is a wine holder. I've seen them sold and used as that. Good job on the decluttering! I like how your brain works. You see potential in so many things that people have tossed away. We think alike. (I can be a box hoarder, too!) I think that you (like me) are coming to the realization that there's only so much we can do, or want to do. Realizing this really helps with decisions when decluttering. I do feel inspired after I watch your videos.
Hi Sophia! Have you thought of having a garage sale with very cheap prices? Then you wount have to take stuff away yourself and you will get some money for it. And the pre-packaged Etsy stuff might go in the basement with all the other Etsy things?
Big job! Well done It took my husband and son four hours to empty our garage, sweep, dust and sort. Two years things get cluttered and dusty and it was full of kids old sleds and equipment they outgrew. Sold a bunch of stuff and made $200 Thanks for the sarcasm Scott! Love it hahaha Keep up the good work.
This morning I started planting tomatoes and peppers in the garden in north central South Dakota. This afternoon I have been working on my garage! Right now it is still looking out of sorts but I am making progress!
Greatly enjoyed you and Scott working together . Maybe you can do a once a month compilation of you treasure hunts on the street treasure hunting with Sophia and Scott.. look forward to part 2.
I absolutely love your videos ❤ I was wondering if possible would you consider making a video when you do go looking for your street finds, I am Irish and at least the part of Ireland I live in this is not a thing whatsoever and I am just really intrigued
Fun to see your hubby join you in the video! Our garage is loaded with stuff, and this may be the inspiration I need to get started decluttering the garage. Your made a lot of progress, and gained a lot of space. That space is such a precious commodity, and also being able to find what we need, when we need it, in the garage, would be such a win! Thanks for the great video!
I get it-I have boxes and boxes too. It’s like they multiply when you close the door!😆 Our garage is full at the moment with inherited items from 2 relatives. I almost had it all done then another set of parents downsized. Yikes! Hi Scott! Glad to see you get some sunshine outdoors away from your work! You two work so hard, it’s nice to see you together for a bit in video laughing.👍👍👍😁
You did an AMAZING job! I loved seeing you and Scott working on a project together. (I adore him.) Does your city have a special day for picking up cardboard or did you mean it just gets picked up from your regular recycle bin on trash day? When I was a kid in Chicago in the 50's, we would have annual "paper drives" (maybe cardboard too) to raise money for our scout troop or school. I would feel so important when collecting newspapers from neighbors and wrapping bundles of it with cording.
My daughter sells on Poshmark full time and has 200 thousand followers. She only picks up things that she loves and would buy herself and I think that is why she is successful. She has built up a following of people who have similar tastes. When you see things on the curb maybe ask yourself would you have it in your home? If not leave it sit.
I love your Garage declutter Videos the Most. I don't know how, but i need to declutter my Garage every year. I dont know why.. It is Like a black Hole..
Hi Sophia! I too used to have a box hoarding problem. I now only have maybe two boxes left, and I park in my garage every night and if I am home, the car is in the garage! 💜💜💜
No I don't. But I do see that you are so busy, not sure where you find the energy or time to have a business and work a very demanding job. When I moved into my current house I got rid of tons of books. So difficult but I didn't want to pay for the weight to move them. I still have several books ( way to many but I couldn't get rid of them all!) I'm still trying to declutter the garage even though I decided I'm parking in there every night any way. Love your videos, and the chatting!
Great clean out on that side of garage!!!....When Scott is on the videos I can't stop laughing he's so funny & you poked him in the stomach in a funny way .😂😂😂😂💜 The "she shed" was a good idea but I know it would be a big job-----too much time & too costly!
“She shed”, Scott is so funny, Sophia! I enjoyed seeing what you decluttered and collated for sale; especially the old wooden mirror. It was also nice seeing you and Scott working together to get the job done. I know what Scott means with regards to the temptation to collect boxes. There is always the idea that they’ll could come in useful. However, personally I only allow myself to keep boxes for the electronics items I have in the house (just in case we ever move, decide to pack any of those items away for a while; or pack them to recycle). My boxes live in a tiny area of my loft space. With regards to garages, I always think that I am lucky not having a garage (as neither my husband or I drive) because there is always the temptation to use such a space for storage; and most people I know end up with their garages or outside rooms full of “come in useful items”, decorating stuff or junk. Thus, they have to spend a day or even days emptying them out again, which is such a waste of time in the good weather.
Oh my garage is exactly the same, it stays tidy and organized for maybe 5 minutes, until someone wants something then BOOM, hugemoungous mess again in the click of the fingers! Ugh. Everything in there we need and use, but you know how it is. Scott is hilarious 😂
I try to remember if I need a box, Walmart sells all sizes for cheap. Sometimes the stress of keeping something for the future isn’t worth it. Add in the cost of a box to the price of the item.
Hello Sophia ! I dont care if you had 20 videos in your garage ! I love your decluttering videos, I take a lot of inspiration and I still use your DOC method every year for decluttering my home! Great jop !
Garages are hard to keep clean and tidy. You accomplished so much. You work hard at several jobs/businesses to help your family and do it all with a positive attitude and grace. Is there an antique market in your area where you could sell the antique saw, signs and things like that?
im only on the computer for fun . i cant imagaine doing it everyday for ten hours my eyes would fall out. but like he said hes gratefull. but jeez thats alot.
Idea That brown mirror with the scroll room top thst you asked scott where it should go... How about hanging it near your maddox secretariat! They both have that same " top"
Great job! I've definitely had my box hoarding times when I sold more on eBay. I have had to learn the container concept...only keep what fits in the space I have designated for it. If I don't have a box for an item, I wait to find one, or purchase one for a $1 or $2. I could no longer let my space get run over with boxes and cause more chaos in my home. It worked for me! Again, great job getting this half of the garage under control again. :)
You guys crack me up!!! My garage is such a mess. We have been in this house for 27+ years and NEVER parked the car in there. Anywho, great video, cant wait for part 2!! I need a bitch barn, not a she shed!!🤪😜🤪😜
We just decluttered our garage today too as it was metal, waste recycling day. It feels so much better to walk in and not trip on everything. We also have a cardboard box hoarding problem as i use them for gardening and my husband puts the on the floor to lay on when he works under cars.
I have a saw just like that one, hanging on my dining room wall. It keeps my visitors in line. 🤣. I think that’s totally a wine holder. I have one made from an old oak barrel and some spiral metal.
Wow! You did a great job with the one side of the garage. But that's too funny about the boxes. Because I do the same thing. I have a room in my house that you can only use during the spring and some of the summer. It does have windows but when it's humid and hot outside you don't want to open them. So it has become the catch-all room. I have one area in the room that just has empty boxes in it. Maybe I can use the boxes for the items I'm going to get rid of.
Great job! Nice to see Scott👍🏻☺️ (and not because I am one of those people who was judging him…people need to mind their comments when they don’t know what goes on outside of the “UA-cam world” 🙄🤦🏻♀️🤷🏻♀️) Anyway…Looking forward to part 2 🥰👏🏻
Great job! I think that wooden chair with the green legs is like the chairs Michelle has in her kitchen dinette set. (MyEveryDayWifeLife). I notice because I’ve always admired her set. 😎 If you’ve ever needed a box and didn’t have one… after that every box has great value. For those things - I TRY to give myself limits.
Do you still have the shelves from your attic you could use for gardening supplies? Or maybe use the ones that Edward no longer needs. I remember when the garage was “worse” LOL. Love your optimism.🤗
We are not experts on our own lives, let alone others. Your family doesn’t need to defend themselves from the ‘judgeMental’. I feel saddened that they feel like they need to. Keep up the great work!
Something I really admire about you is that you always have such a good attitude to everything. always a positive and can do attitude

Great job on the garage, you guys!! “Put the mirror in Edward’s room, he loves looking at himself”. Oh my, I laughed so hard! 🤣
Sophia, I love the monochrome dramatic start to the video👌, it's exactly how I feel when I look at our garage 😁

You and Scott are just the cutest couple. Love when he makes an appearance in your videos.
Only word I have is WOW - you have come so far - I like Scott’s sense of humour 😂
I agree wow
Sophia, you and Scott are so cute 😊.
Decluttering videos are the best, especially watching your thought process evolve.❤
One of your garage organizing videos is how I first found you many years ago. Your attitude and progress and growth keep me coming back. ❤

Start with the easiest tossy tossy. Like cardboard. Then work towards the stuff that’s mentally harder to do something with.
I think the hubby is right. That wire thing is a wine holder. I've seen them sold and used as that. Good job on the decluttering! I like how your brain works. Love the thumbnail that did make me laugh its looking good Sophia 👍🏻🌼
You two are so cute!
It's really so beautiful to see you both still in love, God Bless!
Greatly enjoyed you and Scott working together . Maybe you can do a once a month compilation of you treasure hunts on the street treasure hunting with Sophia and Scott.. look forward to part 2.
If you took the wheels off your shelving units they would fit, although i love having wheels on ours😊
Bird cage is great yard art.
I’m a recovering box and jar hoarder. Great progress today.
I ‘collect’ wayward chairs - when I last “cleaned” my garage - I hung them along the walls and used them as shelves!
I absolutely love your videos ❤ I was wondering if possible would you consider making a video when you do go looking for your street finds, I am Irish and at least the part of Ireland I live in this is not a thing whatsoever and I am just really intrigued
Y'all did so amazing! Clear progress being made!

14:50 It's a soldering gun aka soldering iron, but the tip is missing. Might be a wood burner.
Never mind. :/
I love your honesty. You are making those decluttering decisions quicker. Escpecially with curb finds lately, that you got for free.

Oh man, I’ve been working on my garage too for months!! When you do DIY house projects, it just blows up so quickly
Yep, we keep so much for the next project, just in case. I am doing better with not keeping all the wood though.

That is indeed a wine bottle holder. I have 2 large grape vine ones in my dining room hanging on the wall. I paid $60 each at an antique store.
No way!!! How do you hold it? Upside down?
@@mygreatchallenge You're supposed to store your wine upside down so that the cork stays moist and seals (I think). The rack is designed that way.
@Angela R yes but the temperature in not appropriate. Well. Hey if you drink it fast enough, who cares how you store it?
Sophia. You have been a big part of my life for almost as long as you have been on U Tube. I love every video and admire your work ethic ❤️🥰
Thank you Laurell. Expect more, I am not going anywhere!
Same for me, Sophia is such a delight to watch. Her positive attitude and beautiful accent are so soothing to me 😊
You guys are such a cute couple! 😊💕
Everyone fights clutter and mess. We all have jobs, kids husbands and just life

Beth, I keep the boxes for shipping items I sell on etsy. They re kept for that purpose.
@@mygreatchallenge Yes, I saw that; and I agree that’s a great reason to keep the boxes too.
Great job!! Scott was right. That is totally a wine bottle holder. Otherwise that would be some ugly decor. Lol.
To be honest, it s ugly either way.

Great job on the 1st half!

Sophia, I wish I was there to help you declutter your garage.
I’ll buy the metal box-I think you just hung it in your garage; yes the twisty metal -it’s a wine bottle holder.
Could you put gardening stuff on the extra metal shelf?
how would you ship that giant curtain rod? you did a great job!
That s not for etsy but fb marketplace. Local pickup only.

If you haven’t already thought of this, take the wheels off of your shelf and it should fit.
Do you have an extra room on the first floor? It could be your office
