@@JuggernogPerk i have no idea lol steam is the only platform to track hours, and across the multiple releases I've played it just over 900 hours. Ive completed full play throughs twice now, and working on a completionists run right now, but taking my time as it should be my last playthrough before es6. 2 tips from me.
    - Play the game naturally for your first time (don't look at loot location videos etc)
    - some books will give you a level increase and finding them in bookshelves or mixed in with other books can be a chore. However, these books are worth more money (50+ gold) so just hover over the books and only look for the valuable ones

If you are playing a warrior or rogue type build and think the college is a waste, think again. In the final quests of Winterhold, you get access to 3 great enchants from weapons you can break down. The DRAIN enchants. Drain health, magic, and stamina. These are high-level enchants you can get early on.

I always try to get to the Transmute spell as fast as possible. casting the spell on all the iron ore I've collected levels up my Alteration, then making all the gold rings levels up my smithing. If you can get enough soulstones, or beter yet have a soultrap weapon, you can quickly level up your enchanting. Sell all your rings and you up your speech skill as well as make a good amount of money.

I feel like if we’re optimizing for XP gains it actually makes sense to play a race that has the LOWEST skill level in whatever skills you’re using. There is more XP to squeeze out of those skills that way. Technically it will take longer but the overall xp gained is worth it. Racial abilities are another thing though.

I 100% agree with you on Mods. I think a brand new player should use a few mods in the beginning, but ONLY the ones that add cosmetic improvements. Its already beautiful, but why not make the game even more attractive. No quest add mods, no God-mode mods none of that. But when you can have immersive weather, improved trees and that sort of thing it just adds great visual aplomb.

    • @VressGames

II think tip 16 needs 1 addendum. Even if you do have no interest in magic you should join the college as soon as possible. In this game you need a lot of storage for all kinds of stuff from smithing over alchemy to potions you do not need atm. but will come in handy later on and whatnot else. The college gives you a free rooim with 4 barrels, 2 nightstands and 3 wardrobes to store anything you don´t need atm. which is A LOT. You would usually have to buy a house plus some furniture for that much storage space

Regarding mods: I agree to keep mods to a minimum, especially for a first playthrough. However, even though the graphics aged quite well in my opinion, it may be a turn-off for some people. For those I'd say check out some popular graphics mods as they can make for quite the experience!

I have just started Skyrim. I always play games in max difficult. I decided follow main quest from start and... this is fkn annoying when game throws you to fight a dragon when you're level 5. He can kill me just simply breathing (fire). Hopefully, I have this immortal npc. So, I just waited inside a tower and wait, maybe, a half an hour before they killed the dragon....

Also, before the dragon fight. A mage from Whiterun sent me to ruins... It was a nightmare when I met a draugs with two-handed weapon. They kill me with one hit, and I spent about 2 hours trying kill them...
I playing as Orc warrior with two-handed weapon and heavy armor.

I am currently level thirty I haven't done any guild quest I haven't even talked to the jarl of white run
But I have ninety speech, which I use to create my own fence network to launder stolen goods, eliminating the need to join the thugs of the thieves guild, and I can operate a more gray fox oblivion, honor amongst thieves style of thief, gameplay
Just a smuggler sent up to skyrim, to investigate the sleeping tree sap, as we have some skooma cooks trying to make some senchal scarlett 10x better than balmora blue.
I find that joining quest and factions, and even following the dragon, born quest line in this game, sort of locks you into a character arc and story, of which I find tends to rob all role, play elements from the game outside of those conceptually built within those quest and guild storylines.
Rejecting all quests and all guilds, just to adventure, trade, and help commoners of skyrim has been my best playthrough for freedom so far
There is any advice I could offer from all my time and playing. Based on this experience specifically is that do whatever it takes to have. The most freedom in this game.Don't allow yourself to get locked into anything too early.Otherwise it robs the majority of your experience. And then you'll just want to make a new character

I really dont get why people are so persistent in saying not to mod ur game, play a full playthrough. not everyone plans to play multiple playthroughs, im not a single player guy the fact im even playing skrim is a huge shock to my friends. im modding the game as i play and got 15 mods before i even started. i have no idea if ill enjoy the game enough to play it twice so im modding the game now instead of finishing the game without mods and realizing i dont wanna play another playthrough. i feel like hard core skyrim players genuinely think everyone is going to get addicted and put thousands of hours into the game.

Try to mix roleplay elements with a challenge - for example, pretend your character doesn't have any magicka and can only use scrolls/staves. Or pretend your character wants to open a museum - collect unique artifacts.

    1. keep in mind that, unlike in other Elder Scrolls, there is no night vision spell, potion, item in the game. Cat folk or vampire. Or no night vision for you.
    2. have something relaxing nearby. To calm your nerves when the "R" P G game forces you into something, giving you 0.000 chance for what the R stands for.
f.e. "Dude, the cannibals have a plan. They wanna eat you. Wanna me kill them ALL? Wanna tell the guards? Something?"
of course, you CANNOT say this. You stand in front of the priest, wanna play the decent guy, and there is NO dialogue option to do so. You cannot tell the jarl that there is a fukkn magic door in his palace.
or the sh!t talk in Jarvasskr (or something) hall: "You still need to prove yourself, whelp" (then no dialogue option for me. In fully enchanted dragon gear, as the LEADER of the Companions) etc etc etc.
by the way, is there an NPC anywhere who offers a quest to END the thieves guild? Thanks.
I am the good kitty boy. And then, just to have a few more missions, I have to beat innocent people. My character does not wanna do it. But the player has to. A PG game without that initial R. A great PG game. Just don't believe anybody when they mention the R

@@tiases3756 Exactly. Torches. That's why I wrote for beginners:
"keep in mind that, unlike in other Elder Scrolls, there is no night vision"
starting a non-cat adventurer, expecting magical night vision somehow, forced to use torches = A few hours can be wasted before a kajit re-start.

    • @whitewolf3051
      @whitewolf3051 Місяць тому +1

That tip also applies to Nintendo's Legend of Zelda, only difference is that it's the chickens that will get you, not the people. That said, if you want to kill chickens in a video game, look no further than Kingdom of Amalur, they're like rabbits in Skyrim.
