This was such a cool video, I like that you even recreated the canister art with the color switched ones! It would be awesome if you tried creating your own Toa Mata team that utilise the secondary elements such as: Gravity, Lightning, Plantlife, Magnetism etc!
For the Fire Lewa at 11:01, the 6M Technic axles in Mata red at first only appeared in two sets (3544 and 3545) from the short-lived Hockey subtheme of "Sports" from 2003 and two Bionicle parts tubs in 2005 (8715), and '06 (6620) respectively. Ten years later, they were brought back in three Technic sets (42049, 42050, and 42052) in January of 2016, and are still in use today, having appeared in roughly 147 sets overall.
I really like these sorts of videos you've been doing, you've come up with some really cool re-imaginings of characters while staying faithful to their original builds.
YES! I've been waiting for this video! You pulled it off even better than I imagined. Such a shame we didn't get recolors of everything, especially Pohatu.. oh well. I currently have an Onua of Ice and a Gali of Fire, so those are definitely my favourites.
I was just thinking about something similar this morning- would love to see Gali with the Hahli mahri color scheme using Lewa parts, Kopaka with light blue instead of grey, and Onewa with Tahu's orange parts etc. Alternate color schemes while still trying to fit the element would be cool
It would definitely be a lot easier with the silver armor and tools regardless of Toa, so we can see each Toa in every color easily. I bet they would look awesome!
I had thought all about these possibilities. I had thought about possibly making a Fire Gali when I was a kid and knew that if I got the Master Builder set, I would have two orange weapon arms. Although I didn't have the red Kaukau until years later. It's interesting to see I am not the only one who thought of this idea.
ice pohatu definitely takes the win for me. but in all fairhood his shoes were never essential enough to warrant worrying. coz all he needs is his stoneball which comes in many and can be even be approximated via regular system bricks allowing all six color variants possible. but yeah i would love to see toa voriki reviewed someday.
There are alternative universes in Bionicle, so it’s not that far of a stretch to say this could be a possibility. In my opinion, if there were a “Shiny Toa Universe” Tahu would be the Toa of Water, Gali would be the Toa of Fire, Onua would be the Toa of Ice, and Kopaka would be the Toa of Earth
10:13, idk if this was the case elsewhere, but I remember Legoland California having a Bionicle/Hero Factory room where you could build stuff. And for whatever reason, they had specific recolors of the 2001 Toa masks, where the red Akuka was one of them. And I definitely, absolutely did not take the recolors with me out of the park…
I really enjoyed the idea for this video! I've also been binge watching your other videos and love them. Can't wait to see what other ideas you come up with in the future!
I had actually gotten the black Tahu sword in one of those barrels of random pieces from 04-05, and I didn’t get my hands on Tahu mats until 2021 so there’s always been a weird nostalgia for me surrounding that version of the piece.
Nice job posing the Toa like their original boxart! They look perfect, but my favorites are the Onua variants. The claws sharing the color of his arms works really well.
This was really entertaining! especially learing what other sets used alternate color pieces. I remember finding alternate uses for bionicle pieces in other sets and always thinking it was kind of neat.
You can not tell me these don't exist in an alternate Universe. In-canon that is. Since Takanuva has jumped Around the multiverse, so who's to say they don't appear in an alternate World.
My favourite would have to be the white Toa Mata Onua, the Toa of Mountains, if that sounds cool. Since earth and ice make mountains. Or maybe the green Toa Mata Onua, the Toa of Dirt? Since plants and earth make dirt. Or maybe the black Toa Mata Kopaka, the Toa of Mountains type 2? Since earth and ice make mountains. Or maybe the white Toa Mata Pohatu, the Toa of Quartz? Since ice and stone make quartz. The white Toa Mata Pohatu would look really cool in his silver Mask of Speed! Or maybe the red Toa Mata Lewa, The Toa of Fire Tornadoes? Since wind and fire make fire tornadoes.
hm, this video makes me imagine the Toa being ambushed by a Rahi of some kind that rearranges their elements, and they must learn how to properly use their new elemental powers from each other so that they can defeat the Rahi and set things right.
Personally, I feel like you could get away with using a black hand connector piece for Ice Lewa. It's a neutral color used for the Toa's shoulders and hips, and I don't think it breaks away too far from the established color palette. Maybe replace his finger parts with white to compensate?
This video made me realise that all the G1 Toa names include their region prefix. If you take that concept, you can kinda give each of these MOCs a canon name. For example, blue Tahu would be called Gahu. Or white Pohatu would be called Kohatu.
If you can find a way to recreate the toa body, you can branch out into even crazier, rarer colours. I was able to design a functional replacement with slizer body parts that supported all the used connections for upright toa and the gear box, unlocking support for yellow, dark grey, and almost purple (sadly, the technic arm bits didn't come in classic purple or magenta)
The 7L axle does actually exist in brown, although perhaps it would be a bit too long for Lewa's axe. It is also quite rare as it only came in set 4195 Queen Anne's Revenge.
Hmmm... The multiverse lore possibilities of an entire Toa Mata team of just one character in each element and/or teams of all six characters of a single element are interesting to say the least.
I would love to see a dyed pieces video but pohatu really is the only problem unless you go full custom for his weapon like you did with the shadow toa
I had some ideas for future "stone-swaps", that is if you arent a stickler for era accurate pieces, you could easily fill in the missing gaps with parts from Zesk, the stone bohrok, and Humungosaur. For example, on a stone onua you could use those humungosaur fists in place of the standard arms and add on humungosaur's feet just to spice things up. If you arent a fan of that look you could use Zesk's limbs and pop balljoints into the open sockets to hold weapons and shields. Hero Factory's Ogrum came with brown piraka feet so there is another option for "Stonua". On a stone kopaka for instance you could have that stone bohrok's shield stand in the place of that system shield he usually wields and pair that ensemble with his sword in silver. For Lewa, Tahu, and Gali silver weapons seems like the only "good" option give the avalible pieces, unless ofcourse you're willing to use a humungosaur tail as a whip 😂
Video ideas: Toa mata built in the Inika build format. The matoran form of the toa inika built in the Inika (or mata) build format. Toa mata as turaga Turaga as toa mata Good side Karzhani and evil Artakha builds? 👀 Inika/ mahri into phantoka theme? Vici versa?
I actually *did* find Kopaka's ice shield in translucent Mata red, but, it was only available in the Space Force Lego City set from 2001. But, this *does* remind me of the Toa Mata Piraka Returns sets that I did in 2007! Really cool! Unfortunately, I got rid of all of my BIONICLE sets in 2007.
I once made a Shadow Toa Tahu (like the representation of his silhouette on the advertisement etc)..basically in black with yellow eyes and the same mask which came from another set and had a rusted affect and made a non elemental Bohrok in white and dark silver with glowing eye pieces which I called nest guardian or queens royal guard. I actually have the unique Bohrok on display..and shadow Toa Tahu is in a box somewhere.
I looked all the parts does exist only one part is the problem and it is design number 3961 but it does exist in black, brown, white and red no green and blue but throw dye blue and green on design number 3961 and it will be good
Dude this video was awesome, I've always been obsessed with shiny pokemon and seeing you incorporating the color changes into Bioinicle was super cool, also amazing photo editing! Where'd you get the backgrounds from?

If you're allowing silver tools, you could make an ice Matau; his staff comes in silver on an old racers set
Tahu turning becoming so hot he turns blue in an intense battle would actually have been a great story moment.
It could be a fun plot point
Kopaka got that n word pass
Tahu: Toa of Propane -
-Mmmhm, that's a clean-burnin Toa.
"Dad, why are you grilling my Bionicles?"
If this was a 2000s/early 2010s youtube channel Pohaut would start coming back as a comical nemesis for how he/his element got slighted here lul
This was such a cool video, I like that you even recreated the canister art with the color switched ones! It would be awesome if you tried creating your own Toa Mata team that utilise the secondary elements such as: Gravity, Lightning, Plantlife, Magnetism etc!
there is already a channel on youtube that has been doing toa mata builds of various elements dood

@@yeth797 Nuparu’s Workshop, he hasn’t uploaded in a couple of months though :(
This feels like an iconic moment for the series from an alternate universe where G1 Bionicle had a TV show lol
Maybe an episode where some Weird Magic Stuff (tm) shuffles around their elements?
For the Fire Lewa at 11:01, the 6M Technic axles in Mata red at first only appeared in two sets (3544 and 3545) from the short-lived Hockey subtheme of "Sports" from 2003 and two Bionicle parts tubs in 2005 (8715), and '06 (6620) respectively. Blue Tahu is DEFINITELY Toa of gas. Such simple, yet genius idea!
He's the Toa of Propane and Propane Accessories
Mhm! Great idea.
Toa of Steam. hot air, as they say
I thought it would have been Tahu, Toa currents
I really like these sorts of videos you've been doing, you've come up with some really cool re-imaginings of characters while staying faithful to their original builds.
glacier onua is my new favourite Toa 😁

Great video!!!! I hope you do the same video Toa Nuva. I feel like it will be easier since their tools are all in silver!!
In the original books the gray on Kopaka is described as silver, and Pohatu’s brown as bronze. So the silver feet for Ice Pohatu absolutely work
It's be cool if we got a silver toa, like a toa of iron tahu or pohatu
It's ironic because Bionicle was made to be Legos contender against the popularity of Pokemania in the 2000s
Kopaka actually fits the toa of earth look. Plus he has the best mask power for the job being the mask of x-ray vision.
Excellent video! Hope to see more!
It would interesting to see a version of this using the secondary elements. Like a Tahu as a Toa of Lightning or Gali as a Toa of Plantlife.
