This is one of those beautiful things in life where you randomly searched something that you think would be cool if its existed. Then, a complete stranger living on the other side of the world has already created it. And on top of that he also created something beautiful beyond your own imagination. Thanks for the cover dude this is amazing.
Thanks for your kind words, really appreciate it! ❤️ please check out our re-recorded an remastered version of this cover on this channel as well as on Spotify & Co. And there will be more Meshuggah next year so please consider subscribing 🙏🏼🤘🏻
Very well said
Meshuggah: "We can summon demons while two blackholes are colliding"
Acoustic Meshuggah: "Here's a piece of heaven, fam 😇❤"
:-D
Well put, thanks :-)
Dude wtf this is insane. As a hardcore Meshuggah fan, well done mate.
Thanks :-)
Can I have an entire Meshuggah album like this? Please?? This is so beautiful.
Bleed
Holy fuaark! :O Nearly floated off into the clouds when I heard this.
That coordination is insane.
I really hope anyone of the Meshuggah Family hear this and smile.
Thanks!!! Enjoy the clouds: -)
This is one of the most impressive things I’ve ever seen
Thank you!!!
yeah I love that ending part of the tune..... the catharsis at the end of that tune is increadible
Thank you 😊 please check out our new recording of this tune, which is up on this channel and on Spotify! We re-recorded everything and tried to make that ending even more cathartic!
This is one of the best homages to Meshuggah. It has the exact same feel. Incredible. Still, it is real. Thank you.
Thanks a lot for your kind words, I really appreciate them!
Han e helt utrolig
Awesome....
Check out the dude with the trombone. 🤙
Meshuggah goes José González ❤
Awesome cover. I've always loved this segment, it's one of Meshuggah's most ethereal, it's like they give you a brief glimpse behind all of the intensity into this beautiful harmonic chaos - you captured it perfectly with this acoustic remix
Thank you, glad you liked it!
Jesus dude you're playing like 5 parts at once.. The solo, the repeating dissonant drone, bass line, with drums separating the hats kick and snare? How the hell do you manage that left foot where you're hitting the hats accents and the snares where some are just a 16th apart 😱
So beautiful and really shows how the rhythm is intertwined with the harmony ❤️👌
Thank you so much! 😊
The main trick in order to get started is to put all parts on one single track and figure out how they sound *together*. Then start practising it really really slow such that your brain can grasp how to alternate the limbs and notes, which notes sound together etc. Once that clicked (usually takes a couple of days of short but regular practice sessions) it's all about slowly ramping up the speed.
So really no magic involved ;-) Maybe I should make a how-to video!
@@1xN totally I'd love to (im sure everyone would) hear your thought process in arranging it!
Imagine a take on vocals with this amazing version someone should do it
If Opeth played Meshuggah.
Holy shit, this is hands down the best cover of anything I've ever seen. 12/10, fuck me this is something else
Thanks a lot for your kind words, really appreciate it! And thanks for subscribing, too, pls let me know what you think about my other covers 🙂
This is when UA-cam is at its best. When someone is given the ability and opportunity to share beautiful art, and they grab that opportunity with both hands tightly. Fantastic work man, that was awesome 🤘
Thanks a lot for your kind words! :-)
i would never thought that meshuggah sound so dope, jazzy and cool beyond that wall of distortion
Thanks!
@@1xNMeshuggah is quite literally jazz fusion with distortion
Mans got more talent in his left foot than I do in my entire body 10/10
🤣 thanks! 🙏🏼
This cover is so good, it made me forget for a while how the original song goes
Thanks 😊 🙏🏼🤘🏻
When i had had my daughter a year ago the first day back from the hospital i played meshuggah and cynic for her. Shes been headbanging ever since
❤️
Dude that's insane. I mean you covered an insane Meshuggah Song and did that in such a beautiful way. I'm speechless 🤩
Thanks so much for your kind words! Very glad to hear you enjoyed it 😊 if you liked that please make sure to check out the re-recorded and remastered version on Spotify and this channel, as well our other tunes ❤️
It's elite writing when it can be emotional in any style
💯
I cannot believe that I just came across this now. I could listen to this for hours.
Thanks man! 😊 I hope you do so 😉 please check out the re-recorded and remastered version up on both this channel and spotify & Co. And more acoustic Meshuggah is coming in less than 3 weeks so please make sure to hit that subscribe button 🙏🏼🤘🏻❤️
My man changed the meaning of "insane". Wow dude, beautiful
Thank you!!! 🤘🏻🙏🏼❤️
Meshuggah themselves could SHOULD have had the politeness to thank you for this. Respect in behalf of them :)
Haha thanks a lot 😊
You make Meshuggah sound like Radiohead. That's a huge compliment.
It is! Thank you I appreciate it :-)
This is beautiful … I feel as if this homage illuminates the sadness of the original.
Good work
Thank you!
there are people that can't even head bang to the beat of a meshuggah song. then there is this guy!
🤣
Beautiful
Thank you!
Show this to Fredrik. I never thought Meshuggah can be acoustic. What kind of sorcery is this?! Fantastic interpretation.
I think if Fredrik saw and acknowledged this, there wouldn't be anything bigger left in live to achieve
This has always remained my number one Meshuggah song. The haunting reminder of futility in the notes never fails to pierce my soul. This cover really captures that feeling, well done mate. ❤
Thanks really appreciate your kind words! Please consider checking out our re-recorded + remastered version of this song on this channel and on Spotify! 🤘🏻
Sounds like if shuggah made In Rainbows, love it.
Thanks! 🤘🙏
Thank you, UA-cam recommendations. This was beautiful.
I keep coming back to this itsfuckig awesome.
I’ve never been so mesmerised by a left foot
Haha thanks! Yours goes into my hall of fame of my favorite comments ;-)
It's rather interesting that listening to your accoustic renditions of Meshuggay tracks really highlights the inherent modern jazz influence on meshuggah's harmonic progressions. Reminds me of some of Dave Kings work, and even a bit of Tortoise. Great stuff mate.
Thanks man! Yes it's amazing how jazzy those tracks turn out, pretty much just through the instrumentation! Not sure if that would hold true for Catch33 though 😁 cheers
did not expect someone to change my life when i clicked on youtube today but here we are
Thanks a lot for your comment, I hope that change is in a good way! 😀
This deserves WAYYYYY MORE VIEWS
Remember me when you become famous
Thanks will do :-)
I come back almost daily to watch this video. For some reason it gives me a deep sense of comfort and makes it easier to fall asleep to meshuggah. (However what true meshuggah fan hasn’t fallen asleep to their music)
Thanks a lot, glad you like it! Falling asleep to Meshuggah... haven't tried that, I would be worried that I'd be haunted by polyrhythmic demons in my sleep ;-)
BTW, I'm going to release a brand new shiny re-recorded version of Straws on Spotify by the end of the month. I hope you'll like that new version one, too!
@@1xN My youtube algorithm loves recommending me this video. It's one of the top options on almost all of the videos I watch. It's probably because I come back to watch it so much. Also, please let me know when the song will be released
Thanks will do! BTW what do you think about my other covers? Straws has significantly more views than the others, and I'm wondering why that is. Any insight on how I can make good future covers would be super valuable if you're willing to share your thoughts!
@@1xN I just had a look at your other covers and they’re awesome too however I think that’s more to do with the nature of the song you’re covering rather than the cover itself. There’s something so mellow and also invigorating about your cover of straws that works so well with the melody and the rhythm section of the original song. My only bit of feedback would be to recreate the pyramid song video. The song would work so well in your style but I felt there was a slight lack of confidence in your playing and with the rhythm. Otherwise, keep up the amazing work and I can’t wait to add your cover on Spotify when it comes up
Thank you so much for your thorough and instructive feedback! And thanks for your appreciation of the Pyramid Song cover. I have to admit that I actually have no idea how to play the piano, which would explain the impression you got. I treated it more as a rhythmic challenge, but maybe I can look into it on guitar.
Again thanks a lot for your feedback! Mark June 30 in your calendar as the release date if Straws on Spotify please! You will be able to find it here: open.spotify.com/artist/1dQuhD5Md57pelb63NARUS
My left foot would be cramping
This is absolutely incredible. I've been having a really, really rough week, and this song is extremely special to me, you've made my day. I'm actually moved to tears (happy ones!) thank you for this, dude.
Sorry to hear about your bad week, I'm glad the music cheered you up. I wish you a fantastic weekend!
wow man. this makes me think that this song deserves a really cool laid back acoustic version. actually just the instrumental 2nd half.
Thanks! 😊 But wait -- isn't this a laid back acoustic version of the instrumental 2nd half? (Maybe even really cool?) 😉 Cheers! 🤘🏻
Next: Bleed, 1 man acoustic version
This reminds me of the solfege class performance tests I took in college, having to sing one melody while playing another on piano, except this is way more difficult rhythmically.
Hehe, yes maybe but probably it's just a matter of practice! Thanks for checking out my videos 😊
Even the solo? DUDE! ❤
Thanks 😊 ❤️🤘🏻
This is stunning, nuts coordination dude. Well done, should be very proud :)
Thank you!!!
Dude, I've cut the audio from this video and put it as an alarm clock tune on my phone - somewhere around a year ago maybe and i really felt the difference to my mood. Thank you so much, bro!)
Haha this is amazing, thanks for sharing, you made my day! 😊
My guy... it has been years since I've been truly impressed musically... Incredible cover of one of the best passages of music ever written
Genuinely... as a life-long drummer and guitarist and a die-hard Meshuggah fan, bravo. Few people will truly understand how epic this is.
Thanks guys really appreciate it!
Exceptional coordination, my friend. Beautiful song choice. This has got to be one of the most beautiful outros to any song I've ever heard.
Thank you! Couldn't agree more about the beauty of this composition 🤘🏻❤️🙏🏼
This is wonderful
Talent, Creativity, skill.
Thanks :-) May I use this as a slogan to advertise my channel? ;-)
Of course, it's a statement of fact 😉
:-D
I play guitar. Meshuggah is my favorite band. This is fucking amazing. Good work sir.
Thank you! :-)
Gives me some huge Contortionist vibes. Amazing work!
Thank you!
Chills down my spine
absolutely brilliant.
I think you’ve appeased the gods of fate
Thank you, that's very comforting 😃🤘🏻
Honestly one of the best videos I’ve seen on YT, your talent is insane dude and it all just sounds unreal. My favourite meshuggah track and you captured the same goosebumps but through a different style entirely. Respect brother ✊
Thank you really appreciate your kind words!
beautiful !
WOW! What the actual fuck? This is simply amazing.
Thanks 😊🙏🏼 please check out our other covers too!
:-D danke!

Back again to say this is incredible
Thanks! 🙂
This deserves way more attention! That was beautiful! ❤

@@1xN Oh, I will and if I like it, I'm gonna subscribe the living sh*t out of your channel!! 😆
🤣
Dude this is seriously so beautiful to hear. This Acoustic cover sounds like a more melancholy and happier version of the original but I love how much of the original I can hear in it. Amazing work
Thanks a lot, glad you like it! You might also want to check out my Do Not Look Down cover 😊
@@1xN I will, dope work bro 😎
Thanks 😊
i still cannot believe what i witnessed. this is beyond gorgeous, performance-wise. but i want to thank you because this eerely fulfills a need i did not know i had, to taste such beauty in this arrangement. well done mate, greetings from Argentina

This is immensely impressive. You make this look easy.
Thank you 😊 it's not as difficult as it looks, it's just a matter of practice! Happy new year and please consider checking out the rest of this channel and subscribing 🙂🙏🏼🤘🏻
This is the most interesting and unusual cover of this track
The way you manage drums while playing the guitar is very impressive
Thank you very much!
Thank you!
Amazing performance aside, I wanted to compliment your tone. Great guitar, strings, room, mic…all of it.
🤘😡🤘
Wow thanks! Tbh I feel that we've come a long way sound wise since that recording -- there's a re-recorded version of straws on this channel and spotify, please give it a spin and let us know what you think!
you are doing the lords work. more must know the message of our lords and saviors meshuggah, so finally people who aren't into metal can appreciate their sacrifice
:-D thanks!
Why is this so relaxing?
:-D
Damn. That is incredible.
Thanks again 😅
No no I'm not crying you're crying :' )
:-D
Outro always gets me for some reason and this gave me a couple tears as well fuck good job man

This is gorgeous 😍🥰 im sitting here headbanging like its full metal, but sipping tea chill asf at the same time ✌️💨
Haha thank you! 😊🙏🏼🤘🏻 hope you didn't spill your tea 😉
Holy shit man...I'd buy this as an album. Outstanding!!!!
Thanks man, appreciate it :-) More music is in the making, but'll take a while... next year hopefully!
This is the most emotional and beautiful extreme music ever made. Well done, dude!

This arrangement is so good. Please do more Meshuggah.
Thanks glad you like it! Did you check out my Straws and Spiteful Snake covers? More will come :-)
@@1xN I did and they were great. I really like the sound you get out of that guitar. Great room acoustics. I did a cover of straws, but its electric. (How boring)
Thanks, happy to hear you like the sound, I'm surprised too as I don't use expensive gear! Pros would probably find ways to improve it, but I need to do 80/20 and focus on practising 🙈 will check out your Straws cover!
It's one thing to play the riff so beautifully, but dude, you're hitting the snare with your heel. This is just too impressive.
Thank you glad you like it 😀 please consider checking out Do Not Look Down and my other covers as well!
This is absolutely amazing.
Thank you! 🙏🏼
this one's my fav meshuggah song exactly for this part... cheers man!

Fantastic, now even old people can enjoy Meshuggah! And they should. Great harmonies.
:-D aren't Meshuggah themselves pretty "old"? ;-) cheers!
