- Hello. In this video I go over Drow Ranger's ultimate, Marksmanship. I go over things like how the damage is calculated versus different armor types, and how her Aghanim's Scepter upgrade works.

Drow Aghs USED TO waste mana on each hit of splinter attack, but it was considered a bug and patched out ~4/5 patches ago. That's why now you can attack a building with attack modifiers toggled on to get Hypothermia stacks on enemies/creeps without single mana used.
Go for Time Dilation.
About, how it count hidden abilities of enemy's spellbar. Or how it fully ignores spells that use charges.
Like Time Dilation affect all Invoker's spell which been used but not currently in his spellbar.
Also Time Dilation count Kotl's Illuminate 2 times, cuz cast one type of this spell send the second type too since they have shared cooldown (Simple Illuminate and Illuminate with ultimate).
I hope he pin this, and I hope he also includes the time walk

Echo Slam simplified:
- Unlike ES' other abilities, Echo Slam has no cast time, meaning that you can't press S to cancel casting it like Fissure or Enchant Totem, also Echo Slam doesn't stun units, Aftershock does that.
- There are two components to Echo Slam, the Initial and Echo damage.
- Initial damage is exactly what it says, its the damage initially dealt by Echo Slam to every unit in the 600 radius, currently at 100/140/180 damage.
- Now the way Echo Slam works is to imagine that in every unit in the 600 radius, an invisible Queen Of Pain spawns on top of them and casts her Scream of Pain ability, but it deals 70/90/110 damage per projectile to all other units in a 600 radius, except the unit itself (only the initial damage is dealt, it cannot echo on itself)
- This means that if Unit A is standing at the edge of Echo Slam's 600 radius and Unit B is standing 600 units away from unit A, Unit A will echo and take only the initial damage and send a projectile to unit B, which deals only the echo damage, since Unit B is 1200 range away from the 600 range of the Initial damage.
- The above example means that Echo Slam can launch projectiles to units up to 1200 units away.
- Echo Slam projectiles cannot be disjointed, but it will not damage Spell Immune or Invulnerable units.
- However, the Initial Damage fully pierces Spell Immunity, and it will still launch Echo projectiles to all units within 600 range, regardless if it's spell immune or not.
- Echo Slam damages units that are Invisible or under Fog of War.
I forgot to mention Echo slam deals damage to couriers too

@@user-ep6ed8hr4v Yes, spell immune enemy units will still launch echo projectiles to nearby enemy units
This is basically how the spell is coded in DotA 1. In spawns an invisible dummy unit on top of each target that casts Fan of Knives.
Your video quality really improved a lot! And very educational too, I actually learned a lot especially with the damage formula.
Here's an additional info for 5:15:
Damage reduction and projectile redirection can affect Drow's damage efficiency. Since splinter arrows deal much lesser damage, it can be reduced to almost none when you're targetting a hero with damage reduction mechanic.
Hero examples with such mechanics are:
- Lich's Frost Armor (Buff spell)
- Mars' Bulwark (Projectile redirection mechanic)
- Bristleback's... Bristleback (Passive)
Try to minimize hitting them directly and instead shift your target to someone else. If it's unavoidable then hitting them till they die is still a valid option.
Drow's Marksmanship works super well when you're actively changing targets. Compared to 'just hit' ranged heroes like Sniper and Lina, Drow's Kit specializes in dealing maximum damage against enemies by ignoring base armor, so hit priority plays a much higher role.
You can try making a video for Mars' Bulwark. It has an interesting mechanic and you can present unique reactions against Death Ward projectiles as well as... Splinter projectile redirection(?) and various projectile based mechanics

I think an interesting ability to cover would ice blast, with how interacts with stat changes, the "shattering" and how it interacts with status

Come to think of it back then i tested veno's poisons against status resistance, the conclusion was so confusing that i didn't really get how Damage over Time interacts with status res

It's not getting patched since it used to use mana for casting frost arrows on split hits and it was so mana demanding that aghs felt like a mana burn, so they removed the mana cost for those
It's even stated as an intended buff rather than the bug fix
However they may change the way whether or not frost arrows will be cast by binding split arrow type to the original projectile, not to the ability autocast

the part where if u activate frost arrow after attacking and the attack bounces to another target frost arrow get applied also works for battle fury with troll, if u attack (ranged) with troll and switch to melee before the attack lands battle fury cleave will be applied

the last interaction of frost arrows being autocasted after the attack is kinda the same as troll warlords Q toggle. Whenever you try to attack as a range unit and then toggle Q right after to become a melee the root effect can proc.

Owh yeaaah, I think you should make a video on Echo Slam. It looks simple on paper, and somewhat understood, but people seem to miss the fact that most of the damage comes from the Echo generated from units, while the Slam itself does very little damage.
how exactly people are missing out??? more units = more damage, more heroes = even more damage, its super clear to everybody, whats your point??

Can you do a video on how Dazzles ultimate works? Is i remember correctly, the description says cooldown reduction of 50% but actually it reduces by a couple of seconds only. Also didn't reduce ally cooldowns by 50%

Hey I get an argument about damage proc from marksmanship so if the green armor block all the base damage it should still have damage from proc marksmanship 80 damage right?
How does Spectre free pathing work after dagger? It does not seem consistent sometimes
I'd like to know how wrath of nature works, for example if you cast it, does it snapshot all units in vision and hit them even if they leave vision, or is it dynamic and hitting everything that comes into vision, until there are no targets left?

Hmmm so if the bonus DMG is added after the crit calculation, how does it come that in the video, when you attack Sven you do 364 everytime but when a marksman arrow goes, you do 451 ? Seems to me that the bonus DMG is added before crit calculation

The splinter actualy used mana for frost arrows previously but they change it in a patch.

Hi, I got a question, every character agh upgrade has positive benefits for them, but why clockwerks overclocking gets self stunned after using it? Seems like the only character which gets punished for using the upgrade
Not exactly sure 🤔 Maybe that would be a good thing to go over. At least it's not all punishments though, it still gives some positives.

I just found out that multishot from Drow doesn't scale with your attack dmg from items but it does from your agi from items. I got rapiers in demo to try out killstreak effects and it did no extra dmg. But 6 butterfly gave me extra dmg. There is no mention of this in the ability so if you want to make a vid about it that'd be cool

I really like this version of drow ultimate... sometimes you dont need damage items just items that will enable you to survive tough fights and attack lots hoping for procs

Modern Drow build need movements and escape like dagger or invis. You just need 2 damage items for drow.

You didn’t say about the attack modifiers applied to splinter attack. Also, nothing about true strike when marksmanship proc, it’s useful against pa and others. Heralds video

About the last condition. I mean that’s how Storm Spirit worked for freakin 9 years. His passive triggers mid flight when you press q, which doesn’t really make sense since the projectile is already far away, how does it get overcharged? So, that’s just how Dota physics work, not a bug

Can anyone explain me the damage calculation of drow buying desolator ?
A lot of people don't know how OD astral steals mana and how OD ult damage is calculated. I've even seen pros explain it wrong on stream
8,5% on first attack from basher? i call cap on that one, enemies always jump on me and insta bash me, so i'm guessing the wiki meant 850%
